back into ff7 a bit. just finished the first disc. already
knew the storyline up til that point from reviews/friends
etc.

i don't think i like rpg's but i want to. they're long games
and i love a long game.

also playing my 3rd full season of mlb2k5 w/ the royals

i'm rocking it 75-11 first game after all-star break

bought bomberman generations for gamecube and it's not much
fun. too easy, too childish. was hoping for oldschool
bomberman style, but that's just multiplayer.

considering selling my cube and most if not all games (can
play the ones i keep on wii later) and buying a ds

What do you use to play videogames on your PC? A keyboard or
a Joypad? I once tried to play with the keyboard but it was
fcuking hard, that made me crazy... because I'm too used
with consoles. With a cool Joypad it should be fun though.

If you own a console pad (PS2, x-box, gamecube...) I can
recommend a USB adapter. I've played Prince of Persia, Need
For Speed and various emulators with my PS2 pad. Easy and
fun.

keyboard + mouse!

it just takes a little practice, as any interface does.

when you're a 2d fighting game fan you see flaws in *every*
controller. i think the gamecube controller has the best
ergonomics, but that really depends on the game. it would be
my personal favourite in any case.

favourite for fighting games is the saturn pad, of course.

Totally agree man. I remember the first time I tried it, I
couldn't nearly believe they made such an ergonomics
controller.

qrter: Ok!

The first time I tried it, I was actually with my uncle :>
But I was just amazed and I spent my afternoon to play with
"Super Smash Brothers: Melee" one of the first games came
out on GC.

I have no idea what Woofter did when he tried it for the
first time :p

Yea I forgot to add that a pad should not be used in FPS
games, even console-oriented ones like Halo, if you have
options. It's just wrong. Stroke that mouse!

I'm gonna start Xenosaga ep.1 today or tomorrow, as I'm a
long time xenogears fan, and as I've given up on doing all
the side-quests in DQ8. Great boss battles all the way,
though.

i need to stop buying games, this time for financial
reasons.

anyway, every monday i've been getting together with a
friend for a little something we like to call Mortal Monday.
in it we proceed to play street fighter 3 for like five
hours in a row. and instead of getting bored of it we just
get more and more pumped up over it. fun fun fun.

i meant to say in my last post that i found it odd you got
odama for 10 dollars and chibi robo for 57. were they at the
same place?

also,

i've rented konami's winning eleven 9 international

kind of had a hankering for a soccer game, especially after
watching some world cup. it's a good game so far, but i'm
not sure how into it i can get because i don't really know
who anybody is (and i'm not entirely sure how much of the
players/teams in the game are real. supposedly fifa is the
only 100% true to life game, but i'm an EA hater and i've
heard really good things about konami's game)

i got odama at eb; in canada they have a deal where every
day there's a different 10$ game. i got chibi robo at a
grocery store. so yeah, they kinda jacked up the price.

i personally haven't touched my ds since the last time i
posted about it, but that's probably because i still haven't
picked up the new super mario yet. i'm looking forward to
the next wave of good games.

Just grabbed a Nintendo DS Lite.... New super mario RULES!
Also for the DS Lite; Super mario kart, tetris DS, Kirby,
Mario 64 all for DS.. AWESOME!

Also currently playing:
Ps/ps2: Sly Cooper 2 (good platformer), Final Fantasy VIII
(replaying all the FF games, already did 7 again for the 4th
time! haha)....

SNES: Super Punch Out, Axelay and Final Fantasy III
(actually FF6), one of the best Final Fantasy games of all
time.

NES: battle toads and double dragon, return to silius.

Atari 2600: tennis.

Yeah I own all these old systems a few more too, and the new
stuff, the Ps3 and the Nintendo Wii will both me mine later
this year as well. cant wait!.

ah, good memories... I've played through all the games you
mentioned, except for the new DS games, and return to silius
on NES. FF6 is conceivably the best in the series, although
7 and 5 are not far behind.

I'm playing Xenosaga Ep1 now. Quite story-intensive, I'm
well bought into it.

Xenogears didn't need any backstory, but they insisted. I've
played the first Xenosaga, still need to play the second,
someday.

i enjoyed the first xenosaga back when it first came out but
never beat it. sometimes i get a craving for a jrpg but when
i finally end up getting one i find myself becoming bored
fairly quickly. i'm still looking forward to ff12, though.
i've played through every final fantasy from ff5 (well, i
made it to the last boss at least) to ff10. 10-2 was the
first one that didn't do anything for me. 11 doesn't count,
of course. i don't think there's a single rpg i finished
this generation outside of ff10 and kotor (i've mentioned
this before). so i've either grown out of them or they've
become a lot worse than the ps1 days.

p.s. i hear that the third xenosaga is enjoyable for what it
is, a low budget wrap-up of the entire storyline. people
seem to be enjoying it a lot more than the second game.

chrome hounds (xbox360) total garbage. I'll never understand
how video games can downgrade (engine mechanics, effects,
etc.)

Prey:

Pros:
- graphics
- portals and gravity

Cons:
- moronic main hero
- new gameplay elements get old fast
- the major platform puzzle was extremely easy
- old wise man

Im not an xbox guy, the 360 has not impressed me, like I
said before im a ps3 and Wii guy, not tha the 360 doesnt
have titles that I personally enjoy....

Prey was ok, but like you guy said its nothing special at
all. Halo 3 is coming out later this year or early 07...
looks neat but who knows if it will actually improve upon
the series.

i loved that game when i was younger.

i picked up ape escape 3 on sale thinking it would be some
cheap fun but god, it's a little kid's game, it sucks. there
is absolutely nothing about it that satisfies my gaming

but i looked at onimusha 4 in the store and dang it looks

I'll say I wouldn't mind this game or that record or this CD

Onimusha 3 was weird. Jean Reno was just kind of... there,
for no apparent reason. I wish they'd had some sort of ''odd
couple, bizarre buddy-game'' chemistry into it, but the
whole Reno/Samonosuke pairing was pointless. Onimusha's a
solid series though, I want to play 4.

ophecks: i'm a big fan of the onimusha series. i never got
around to finishing 3 since i started playing it right
before my 'i quit video games!' phase, so i'll have to get
around to that. the graphics and gameplay are both
incredibly smooth for a ps2 game.

i hear onimusha 4 can be up to 30 hours long if you let it.
plus all of the playable characters in it have alternate
street fighter costumes! of course i must have it!

play through the original trilogy before even opening the
packaging. finished onimusha 1 and am currently about
halfway through 2. onimusha 2 has such a strange style to
it, it's great.

what saves such a marathon from monotony are the noticeable
improvements between each game. this will let me beat
onimusha 3 for the first time!

beat onimusha 2 last night and played through half of 3
today. gosh do i love onimusha 3 -- it takes all of the
really great bits from the first two games and adds a whole
lot more to make it one of my most favouritest games of all
time. if 4 really does top it then i'm going to be all kinds
of blown away.
