post 501. i love this thread.

i'm back on gt4 after a long hiatus (i was stuck on a
circuit but i found a better car to use)
i'm about to hit 87.6% w/ everything beaten except the
extreme hall and 5 driving missions.

i've also bought nfl2k5 after trading in suikoden III and
r-type final (how can a shooter game be so boring and slow?)
nfl2k5 is good so far but i'm not good at it so it's
frustrating. i wish they left out things like 'cribs' and
the trash talking and such.

i've been looking over this thread and i've noticed there
are many games i have in common with users and some i picked
up without noticing the recommendations. such as gradius v
and ikaruga (uzim on both i believe :) )

i also play a ton of videogames. so, uhm, i love videogames.
i love this thread. i love you guys. <3

i play emulated Snake Rattle & Roll from time to time.
not very convenient to play it on keyboard. Even with
cheating I thought that game creators should be punished for
their cruelty towards the player, until I saw a small
emulator movie showing that finishing the game is not
impossible - game finished in 8 minutes without losing
lives, and the jumps were incredible, feels like the player
trained for several years, knowing all the positions of
moving dangerous objects in time.

the game is cool. At first.

I'm going to start a new save in Manhunt when night falls,
one of the most underrated games of all-time. Also the only
game in recent memory that stopped me cold in my tracks... I
tried to beat it, but I couldn't.

i picked up virtua fighter 4: evolution two days ago for
like 8 bucks (plus i had credit). no booklet w/ a generic
cover though, so i'm using training mode for learning
movies.

after looking over this thread i saw optimus mention it and
i thought hey i could go for a good fighting game with good
old sega-am2 visuals. it's good stuff. the 10th anniversary
cleaned up version of the original VF is awesome.

that game can take some serious time away from you if you
bother to learn the fighting system. it's still my favourite
3d fighter ever.

Quite fun game, even if it's impossible to solo. And it's
buggy like hell.

- Resident Evil 4 (NGC)

Just fucking awesome, see the other thread for more gushing.

You'll either have to upgrade to xp and get the dongle, or
get a wireless router. I'd go for the router option myself.

I've got a mac, so i can't even get the wifi dongle. good
job i got me a compatible router.

Morrowind+expansions+many plugins. I'm still far from
finishing the main quest - as i've had this latest save for
about 2 years now. I don't rush since there are more and
more cool mods to check out.

And that Oblivion soon.......holy moly.

Oblivion is going to be the bee's knees, it's the next game
I'm getting (for 360).

My cousin brought over NHL 06 for Gamecube yesterday,
another hockey game that refines some aspects of the game,
but new flaws always pop up to balance it out and make it no
better than last year's, all things considered. NHL 94 is
still going to go down as the video game I've logged the
most time on.

fun out of videogames at times

an old game called Oni. downloaded on smbds demand, but I
felt nostalgic about it and kicked several objects with
pleasure.

+ Carmageddon 2, this is love forever
+ q3, less than before
+ CS, rarely
+ American McGee Alice. this time finishing the game on hard
level appeared to be easier than when I played it first time
on normal level.

On Xbox - Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. Great fun if you
liked the old Mortal Kombat games and like Streets of Rage
style stuff.
Moto GP3 - Not quite simulation enough; I prefer the second
one, in spite of the incredible graphics this has.
On Ps2 - Tekken 5, good but I don't think it's as good as
SC2.
On PSP - Ridge Racer. Nice arcade racer.

Got Metal Gear Solid 3- Subsistence tonight. Already my
favorite game of the generation, now it's even more phat.
The fully controllable camera is a masterstroke. Despite
being a hardcore MGS fan, I was never a ''camera
apologist'', I always felt that was the only flaw in the
series. Feels like a dream come true, this.

Also got Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, which is also
pretty good. I finished it in like a day though, and the
multiplayer isn't as interesting as MGS3's. PS2 and its
lo-res jaggy graphics FTW.

a rad package, totally worth shelling out the green even if
you already have MGS3.

It's pretty cheap. I got it for 35 bucks up here, which is
like 25 down there. After trading in MGS3 (you won't need it
anymore, it's all there in Subsistence), you're really only
paying a few bucks for Metal Gear Online, Metal Gear, Metal
Gear 2, Duel Mode, Extra Snake vs Monkey, all the weird
little bonuses, the game-changing 3rd person camera (can't
stress enough how groovy it feels), etc. You'll also get to
watch Snake and the CIA Director hold hands, skip through a
field of flowers, and make out.

Anyway yeah, I beat Metal Gear 1 and now I'm playing through
Metal Gear 2 right now. I've never beaten this, very fun
stuff. It's jarring how much stuff the Solid series recycled
straight from the original MSX games.
