donald in a nursing home

On Tuesday morning a pipe-smoking resident rolled his
motorized wheelchair down one of the compound’s paved,
tree-shaded paths. He said he did not believe covid-19 was
there, and that restrictions were ”overblown.”

"They’re having residents not have their meals (together)
and gather in large groups. I think it’s already been
blown out of proportion,” said the man, who declined to
identify himself as he steered toward a crosswalk, adding
that he “was heading out.” The man zoomed off to a
congested strip of shops, cafes and restaurants in the
Seattle suburb.

...

The Gardens has advised residents to remain in their
apartments and to isolate themselves from gatherings,
McNamara said.

“However, public health officials and the CDC have not put
our facility under quarantine,” McNamara said.
“Therefore, residents may leave the property if they wish
to do so.”

The man drove his scooter up 100th Avenue Northeast on
Tuesday, zipping past apartment complexes, markets, bus
stops and pedestrians. He passed a young woman in
eyeglasses, a man jogging with his dog and another man
bundled in a hat and gloves.

He ultimately rolled into a smoke shop and bought a 16-ounce
bag of pipe tobacco, said shop owner James Jeong, 52.

Jeong said he has been meticulous about using sanitizer on
his hands after every customer pays. But he was rattled that
someone from a nursing home affected by covid-19 had come
into his shop.

“Oh my God,” he said as he stood behind the cash
register. He politely added that he wished the residents
would stay home for now.

if anyone cuts you in line, call teh cops

or, even better:

1) get in line; wait.
2) go into the store; buy everything sought after
3) exit the store and walk down the line, hawking your
just-purchased items at 200% markup
4) once everything is sold, get back at the end of the line
and repeat.

time is money.

curve diagrams
i think it basically says:
dont be an ass and get infected,
playing it cool saves lives of those who are at risk.

so with all the paranoia and fuss over a "flu",
it is irresponsible to not take measures as hygiene and
sometimes isolation seriously, so we dont lose too many
elders and sick people. (even trump voters :( you know they
have relatives too and might infect voters of the other
guy.
in my area (rhein/ruhr) schools & kindergardens are closed
as of today. generally any other public event including
soccer league is cancelled in germany. probably the best
thing to do.
if things like that happen in your area, remember its a
precaution. supermarkets will not be closed like that. leave
some toilet paper for the other folks alright? :)

I don't get the thing about buying up all the toilet paper.
Every time I go in the shops more things are sold out;
toilet roll, pasta, rice, tinned food.... it's kind of funny
to get "creative" with what's left, some glace cherries and
Bovril for example.

gonna be crowded i guess.
probably more than the typical saturday.
i expect mostly supermarkets to be flooded though.
the parking lot was filled to the last slot.
people who do their groceries by car seem to be the scared
kind.
havent seen any empty shelves yet the last two times i was
out shopping over the past 2 weeks.
but the gf saw a note on the toilet paper:
"one per customer"
last time we went shopping was two days ago.
we bought fresh veggies and the odd 2 cans of tomatoes for
pasta and one toilet paper pack and a half a kilo of goats
cheese,
which we already ate half of ^^
place was uncrowded and fully stocked.

yeah people talk about the big set pieces like the chest
burster but for me it's all the little connecting bits that
make the movie, how much attention is paid to world and
atmosphere building. The helmet in the beginning with lights
from the screen reflecting on it, a nobody receiving a
transmission.

I've never seen Die Blechtrommel, because I am a peasant.
