i love this track, quite like most of the corona album,
really
part of it is just nostalgia, some counselor at summer camp
would play rhythm of the night to get us to hustle cleaning
the cabin up -- it was still the era of sam goody and i knew
i liked electronic music, but had a difficult time finding
it

I also really like Rhythm is a Dancer from the same era but
it's not "topical", apparently.

i have a good story 4u. i was in college, 2005 or something,
and i finished this track. i sent it to a guy who helped me
out through my early years, dave wright of not breathing on
AIM.

"rhythm is a dancer" he replied

"what" i replasked

eventually it came out that this was a song -- oh, ok, my
song sounds like some other song. but i actually still don't
even know it that well, and i'm not sure if i even heard it
after he explained it was some disco song. this was before
youtube

orchard ~ spent ages on this my sophmore year of, er,
"uni." apparently it sounds like rhythm is a dancer. i'd
never heard (of) it before

there was messing around in wave editors as a kid then a
class with digital performer at school. i got digital
performer at school and i learned you could pirate
synthesizers off IRC and it literally changed my life. or,
well, in between, i used acid 2.0, then fruity loops to make
loops and acid 2.0, then impulse tracker because of some
australian guy on IRC that now works for pixar, then nuendo,
but that was too schmaltzy; pirated cubase sx and was happy
as a pig in shit there for years. for a stretch i'd
literally just spend friday night pirating plugins and then
the weekend stoned and fucking with 'em.

but that began to get confining. i've done that before, i've
done that before, but also, i know this shit now, and
instead of screwing around, i'm doing things to a compulsive
level of thoroughness. it starts to feel tedious; dragging a
weight around.

so i started getting into hardware. for a year or three, i
was quite terrible at it. people on AIM were all "what is
this shit, where is what you were doing before" but instead
of ages of FUSSY. FUCKING. EDITS i was just all dfghjdfhgj
lol hardware. a few months into that phase some guy -- a guy
i wound up with as roommates with via watmm, of all things
-- loaned me a 606 and and MC-202, and, oh, ok, now that i
have them both synced and my paws on both in diachronic
tandem i see why people care about this so much

i stuck with hardware, mostly, for a good number of years
after that, but there were some odd melds

LAZY_TITLE

now i dunno where i'm at. spent a year or two writing shit
in milkytracker, crappiest tracker available, simply because
it works on a shit laptop running linux. now i have some
hardware again and i'm using my 10yo pirated plugins for
some tracks but then just making crap in milky too.
occasional live jams. goulash

maybe i should fire up my copy of ableton from 2012
on my win xp music computer

i got a tascam usb audio interface at a swapfest for forty
dolla. for anyone else, they would flip because it doesn't
windows 7-10. but, for me, yes, perfect fit. there is even a
story behind its purchase. but i've done enough damage

I used to sing that in school, rhythm is a dancer when it
was out but changed the words to take the piss out of my
friend sean
rhythm is a dancer, seany gives you cancer
seany gives you HIV
seany give you rabies
seany gives you babies
that's why hes on ecstasy

Oh don't worry, you don't have to go to it, it's coming to
you.

14 day incubation period. That's INSANE. If people are
infectious before they're symptomatic, millions could
already be infected.

It's like someone found the monkey's paw and said "I wish
this tight housing market would loosen up".

did you guys see the movie Contagion (2011)

good one, too many characters but that's how disaster movies
go

I liked Jude Law as the snake oil peddler, his character was
great, almost too true to life, someone you'd see the wine
moms reposting and liking on facebook

We'll see. The last one I bought came with a smuggled note
saying "Please help, I am uighur Muslim in Chinese
concentration camp, forced against my will to make your butt
plug" - which I thought was a lovely touch and helped me cum
that much harder.

I think Corona uses the same bass patch as Whigfield here,
the infamous Yamaha lately bass / solid bass. It's mixed
more upfront in the whigfield. You hear it all over the
place.

I was in a store and noticed that lady at the till looked
sick. As do the person next to me, then I turned around and
all I could see was Chinese people. I was surrounded, every
time I heard high heels it was a Chinese lady, it was
surreal. All I could think about was “are they ill? Am i
fucked?”. Then I saw some sweets I liked and chilled a
bit.
