was visiting some allotments yesterday, sitting together
with 4 other people and felt a lil criminal. on the other
side, we have 70 cases and 4 deaths here. all 4 happened
because a stupid retirement home worker went back to work
after being tested positive… he got it from being on
holidays in italy

I lived in Saint-Henri. I remember taking a walk at night
and finding lots of blood in front of a bar. And reading the
next day, that somebody was stabbed there just the night
before. good times. I never went out partying in the
Saint-Henri neighbourhood

I loved walking all the way back from Plateau at night when
I was drunk and didn't wanted to pay for a cab. Was a one
hour walk. Was nice passing things like McGill university at
night

I'm sat on a park bench and some loons behind me are playing
some sort of bass music on a buttery powered stereo. And I'm
the criminal.

Rest of the country is easing up restrictions a little (from
level 4 to level 3). We are however in a hot spot, so as
luck would have it, we still on level 4 for the foreseeable
future. Local gov taking national gov to court over this.

Its weird sometimes I forget why we are stuck inside.
Thought we were living in a bubble before but this is the
real deal.

this article is such a flaming pile of shit. don't bother
clicking unless you want the full pile; i'll save you the
trouble:

The independent tech analyst needed space to call his
own, and found a great alternative to sky-high Silicon
Valley rentals.

He bought a small 22-foot Airstream RV on a 30-year loan,
parked it in his back yard, and souped it up for video
calls. The analyst surveyed the local real estate market,
and found that rentals were charging at least $2,000
monthly. Instead, he got a 30-year-loan at $370 monthly for
a $50,000 Airstream "Sport" trailer.

yes, that's perfect for everyone. buy a $50,000 trailer and
park it in your ample backyard. i should note it links to
the airstream web site, in addition to pitching a "low"
monthly payment. the "organic advertising" only gets more
obnoxious from there:

Beyond the camera, lav mic, Logitech webcam and Samsung
30-inch monitor, "the most important," tech tool in the
trailer is his 1 gigabyte Comcast internet signal. "I have
massive speed," he says. (He puts the internet also through
an Orbi Mesh Wireless Router by Netgear.)

according to his own description, this guy gets paid to
talk.

here's another, this time for some twats that want
schoolkids to all carry tracking beacons. ars technica is
usually quite good, but they're owned by conde nast, who
occasionally forces them to syndicate trash like this

coronavirus? more like profitvirus!

LAZY_TANTRUMS

My current estimate is that 30 million Americans will be
killed by Covid-19 within the next two years, with up to 100
million permanently disabled by sequelae such as diminished
lung capacity, cardiac issues, strokes, and so on

3 staff here went down with it. 2 are back but can only
manage a couple of hours at a time before they're exhausted.
one has kidney damage. our chef is still off and has been
out of action since march. they were all wearing masks;
presumably the only reason it didn't sweep through the
patients too. the rony is a fucker

in other news, the pubs open soon. it's gonna be carnage

That's the thing about masks, they protect *other* people. I
think that's why Americans are so mad about them, it cuts
against the culture of "ey whoa fuck you pal"

> in other news, the pubs open soon. it's gonna be carnage

So according to studies this virus isn't seasonal, and
antibodies die off over a few months.

Imagine how much worse this could have been, had it really
been man made in a lab?

Update from Bergamo, Italy

The long-term effects of COVID-19, even on people who
suffered a mild infection, could be far worse than was
originally anticipated, according to researchers and doctors
in northern Italy.

Psychosis, insomnia, kidney disease, spinal infections,
strokes, chronic tiredness and mobility issues are being
identified in former coronavirus patients in Lombardy, the
worst-affected region in the country.

12 Monkeys bothered me very much
i think it's something to do with the lack of free will,
making your own decisions but still being a pawn in a loop
of causality
also the ending is just fucking depressing.
