phillies with opening day rosters. 2-0 babyyyyyyyy

i'll prob pick up god of war 2 if the price drops. other
than that, my ps2 will probably be used only to watch dvds.

S.T.AL.K.E.R. occurs to be exceptionally good. Of course it
ended less ambitious than it was at the beginning of the
development, but is still extremely immersive.

Rallisport Challenge 2 for Xbox again. A Rallisport
Challenge 3 for 360 would be a dream come true.

How is Chocobo and the Magic Picture Book? I was thinking
about picking ti up.

In 2 days I will be playing Super Paper Mario. I can't wait.

It's a cute collection of mini games. The best thing about
it is probably the music which is Final Fantasy music in an
adorable chocobo style.

super paper mario. i hope this game pulls it off, because it
seems like it could be a worthy addition to the mario series
and whatnott etc etc..
theres no australian release date though, and.. theres no
release date for mario galaxy at all..

FINALLY got okami. only played a few minutes of actual
gameplay (and id barely call even that gameplay..) buuut...
it looks LOVELY.
the talking in the intro got real annoying though. i hope it
doesnt ruin the game or anything.

It doesn't ruin the game, but it's definitely the most
tedious aspect of it.

I'm replaying the original Colony Wars for PS1, which I
haven't done in about 10 years. It still feels pretty
exciting and huge.

i picked up twilight princess a couple days ago. only three
hours into it but it's definitely the greatest game ever.

i'm always so fat with hyperbole when it comes to games. :p

midna is the best npc to ever appear in a zelda game. her
bizarre, monkey-like design and colourful personally really
make her stand out in the zelda universe. sorry, tingle.

man, i can't wait to play more of this. i don't understand
the complaints about the graphics since they're probably the
best i've seen on gamecube.

Dead Rising, the most outrageously flawed game ever. I mean
I'm sitting here just shaking and filled with rage. The
random chaos that makes it so fun can be so infuriating when
things don't go your way. One zombie among the 100 onscreen
can make or break your quest depending on what direction
he's facing during that particular attempt. It's just, fuck.

Got the DiRT demo from Xbox Live today, gonna buy that day
one. I don't even like racing that much but games like this
and Rallisport Challenge are such a superblast. I just hope
the game isn't all mountains and shit, I like the lush
environments from RC2. I used to just drive around in
interior view (with windshield wipers and all) with the
weather set to ''rainy and cloudy'' and drive around the
countryside taking it all in. Nothing like that in the DiRT
demo.

I just beat Lost Planet recently, after a hiatus, and it
left me... cold (lol). Fun but insubstantial, and so
defiantly Japanese. And the last boss employs a game
mechanic that is not even utilized throughout the rest of
the game. The first 99.9% of the game plays like a 3D Bionic
Commando or something, and then suddenly for the last .1% it
plays like Zone of the Enders. Fuck off, I hate that
inexplicable shit, like the last boss of Devil May Cry
playing like Star Fox.

Meteos or Lumines... RPG + puzzle game = awesomeness.

Definitely has a Riddickesque feel, which is good because
Riddick was phenomenal. I wish I could play it now but it's
not supported on the 360.

On the other hand I've been experimenting with the PS3's
backwards compatibility and with the latest updates, PS2
games look pretty great upscaled to HD, a cure for the
jaggies. PS2 games look better than Wii games now.

offline clayhillpeak from Vuh (China) on 2007-07-01 20:29 [#02099028]

well actually, they are doing a remake of riddick for the

Yeah I heard but uuuugggh they're putting in a multi-player
mode. The single-player in the first Riddick was immaculate.
I hope it's a different team working on the mutli, a la
Splinter Cell/GRAW, so the dudes working on the campaign can
put all their elbow grease into it.

The original really looked awesome, as good or better than a
lot of current-gen games, no need for a graphical upgrade,
so this better be more of a true reimagination than a mere
remake.

Burnout revenge, with the sound coming out of a 2KW PA
system.

The engine sounds are good, but still not as close to real
car engines as I'd hoped (sound a bit screamy like
motorbikes, rather than bassy). The crashes, however, sound
spectacular.

Alternating between 2 rally racers- DiRT which is a deft
hybrid of sim and arcade racing, and Motorstorm, which is
pure carnage and so fun I can't even believe it. Too bad
there's too little content. I guess it will be a blast while
it lasts.

Yeah that's the point, that 3+ year old game on vastly
inferior hardware was 60fps and these 2007 rally games are
30fps... despite hardly looking better than RSC2, if at all.
RSC2 was a awesome technical achievement, but still, good
grief.

Racing is one of those genres where frames-per-second is
really important.
