Super Mario RPG for SNES, the Witcher for PC.

Oh, and if I want some mindless violence, Unreal Tournament
3.

i beat metroid zero mission and am incredibly impressed with
it. i actually really like the comic book-style backgrounds
and such, and the short, wordless story scenes. this is how
the storytelling should've been done in fusion -- no words
except at the beginning. the zero suit mission at the end
was an absolute blast to play through, as well.

really, a 10/10 game for me. for reference, super metroid is
an 11/10 game.

I'm playing Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s.

But, more importantly, I'm midway through GODHAND. This game
is incredibly fun! It seems to only get better as the
chapters unfold. My initial skepticism has been turned into
a genuine admiration. Amazing game.

Stranglehold: Its alright, any one else have it?
The Orange Box: Been playing this for a few months and i
still haven't done everything in it. God Portal is ace.
Halo 3: I still haven't quite got the massive hype
surrounding it but I haven't played multiplayer yet.

Halo is all about hype.

This doesn't mean it's a bad game or an unworthy sequel, but
the point is that the hype is bigger than the game...
Americans know how to do hype.

beat super nintendo zelda. i cheated a bit on got help from
a gamefaq. fun game.

tried playing resident evil outbreak today (got it a while
back in a three pack) and it's no fun. controlling one
person is hard enough let alone 3 or 4 and having no real
pause option.

i'm probably gonna trade in my ds and games tomorrow (the VC
seemed to fill that oldschool/sidescroller/shooter void) and
get geometry war galaxies on the wii, replace a copy of
nfl2k5 i broke on the ps2 and update metal gear solid 2 by
getting whatever the deluxe 2nd edition is called

Picked up Castlevania- Dracula X Chronicles for PSP on the
cheap. The remake of Rondo of Blood is 3D and it's not
perfect but it works, the original seemed more bland than
usual when I played it... and honestly looked bland and gay
looking even at the time compared to the gloom and doom of
Castlevania 4... but in making the soundtrack less dancy
cheesy weesy they've made it pretty nondescript. I wish I
could play the remake with the original soundtrack. I also
unlocked Symphony of the Night but this is like the 8th time
I've owned this game.

Splinter Cell DA for 360 I have been playing the multiplayer
mode a lot.

I recently rediscovered Doom 3. I got it for original xbox
when it came out, played it a little here and there but
stopped after I got stuck on the campaign.

So I got a 360 for Christmas and I was going through my old
games to see what would play on 360 and what I wanted to
keep or sell. I decided to pop it in and give it another
chance. I had Otto Von Schirac's early EPs playing through
my 360. Once I started playing with Otto's music it was the
creepiest, most bugged out thing I ever played.. especially
since his music blended with the soundtrack for the game
which sounded straight hellish.

If anyone tries this don't do the campaign, start a system
link game and just play through on co-op mode (even if it is
just you). Doom is not about PDA devices, door codes, lock
combos, or any of that and the multiplayer versions of the
maps cut all that out for straight run and gun play.

After I played Resident Evil 4 I went back to play some of
the remakes they did for Gamecube. They looked great but I
was already too spoiled by the new over the shoulder camera.
I just couldn't get into it.

RE5 looks great though can't wait to play it.

Can anyone who owns Unreal Tournament 3 tell me if there is
actually a Single Player campaign to be found somewhere in
the game??? It's advertised that it does, and I've seen
trailers of what looks to be a single player section, but
when I start up the "Campaign", the game just has me
fighting bots in the multiplayer maps... where the hell is
the single player campaign?

i played the xbox live demo of GRAW and really couldn't get
in to it. i know a lot of people who like it, so it must be
good - just not for me. Multiplayer COD4 is one of my fav
games ever. i like how you start with shit weapons and have
to work up. levels are VERY well designed & game runs very
very smooth.
only bad thing is you cant play split screen on live like
halo.

It's not a ''campaign'' per se. It's just the multiplayer
maps and you play against bots in standard capture the
flag/deathmatch rounds. With only the vaguest sense of
''story'', with cutscenes preceeding the action, some
nonsense about a war and stuff. They should have just made
it a... you know, TOURNAMENT. That you fight through.

wow, that's seriously fucking lame. Why even bother calling
that a single player campaign?? Shit, even Unreal Tournament
99 had single player arena vs bots, but at least they didn't
try to pass it off as an actual single player campaign.
Since the multiplayer portion of the game is nowhere near as
fun as it used to be (where the fuck is the Assault
mode???), and the single player "campaign" is a fucking
marketing lie, I'm going to have to say that Unreal
Tournament 3 is dogshit wrapped in a shiny package.

Well, for practice and stuff, I guess, an elaborate
tutorial... I suck at Unreal and I actually played through
quite a bit of the single player to get a feel for the
weapons and rules before jumping online... and getting
destroyed anyway.

UT3's unsuccessful run has been pretty surprising to me. I
never liked UT but I can see the appeal. The reviews are
solid, and the game doesn't seem that different from its
predecessors to me. There's just too many other great online
shooters right now, UT feels like a relic.

Oh yeah and like yeah I see your point and stuff, it's like
basically false advertising and stuff.

No room in this world for UT3, I have the PS3 version and
everyone's too busy playing Call of Duty 4, Resistance and
my precious Warhawk

well part of the beauty of the Unreal series has always been
the mod community, especially those modders who make the
Mutators. There are/were hundreds of really interesting
mutators for UT 99 (the only one I really liked, never got
into 2003 or 2004) that really changed up the gameplay.
Also, there used to be "Assault" gameplay mode where one
team would defend a fortress and the other would, you
guessed it, assault it. It was like the opening scene to
saving private ryan meets quake. In my opinion, the game was
actually better before they scrapped all the exciting stuff
to add lame vehicles.

this game themselves.

They'll probably mod it to be more like the older games.

I can't believe this thread is still alive. Someone started
it in 2004! That must be some sort of record.

Anyway, I've been playing Zack & Wiki which just came out in
Europe this week. Loved every second of it. The puzzles get
really tricky and the game doesn't give any hints unless you
specifically ask for it. I sincerely hope Nintendo is paying
attention, all the hints almost killed the last two Zelda's
for me. Zack & Wiki allows you to actually solve all the
puzzles yourself, which was really cool. It made me feel
like a genius.

Also I've been playing Half-Life 2 on Playstation 3 for a
couple of weeks. I'm terrible with first person games so i
keep dying all the time, but the presentation in this one is
so amazing I keep playing anyway just to see what happens
next. Certainly an interesting experience. It's like I love
it and hate it at the same time.

Unreal 2 XMP was a real fun multiplayer experience, a real
proof that spin-offs and mods can be better than the
original! I'm not much an online FPS gamer myself, but the
occasional XMP, Quake or Counterstrike can be a real thrill.
I feel like they watered down the Unreal experience as soon
as they started releasing new games every year - it's like
an EA sports game franchise now, lost its edge. I don't know
what FPS game to try next, since there's so many of them...
It's kind of overwhelming, actually. The result, for me, is
a kind of numbing and a momentary lack of interest.

Devil May Cry 4 demo is on PSN now. This shit is BEAUTIFUL,
I adore the architecture and environments in DMC1 and 3, and

It's good to see that game get good reviews, though it's
probably gonna sell like shit. The story about Suda 51
giving away NHM-themed toilet paper and trying to sell
signed copies of NMH... and not getting ONE taker... in
JAPAN... is the saddest/funniest thing ever. I determined
that I'd buy a copy no matter what after reading that.
Although I had no fun playing Killer 7, the style was
inventive and NMH looks much better, the industry needs more
oddballs like him.

Looks like the final reason I need to pick up a wii...

At the moment I'm playing Quake 4 which seems like a piece
of shit to be honest. Still have to finish off Halo 3 as I
havent been able to pick it up since I had a marathon 7 hour

Metal Gear Solid- Portable Ops Plus for PSP. It's kind of
strange and actually not a particularly inspiring expansion
pack, but it's MGS, it's Portable Ops, it's inexpensive, and
it's still fun as hell and you can play as Old Snake, though
his clenched ass doesn't have as many polygons or the same
quality bump mapping for his crack. The wait for MGS4 and
Metal Gear Online is sheer agony.

Also watched half of Uncharted and played the other half,
equally entertaining both ways, someday this franchise is
going to be legendary.
