If you saw Korea against Italy they weren't so strong as you think. I think Spain should win without much problems but I'm worry for Raul, it's very important for Spanish team and for who loves good football.

I am glad that we play against korea, because with italy and without raul...we would have had very impossible... with korea its gonna be hard, but even without raul we can win and I hope that we beat them and raul is ready for semifinals... dreaming*

In these days I'm like an injured lion for what I saw last Tuesday.
Anyway yesterday I was very angry but I don't think I sweared (I only used the word fuckin'... like the two boys in windowlicker's video :D )
Yesterday I told to Phob that I'd stopped to speak about football 'cos I'm disappointed but everytime I can't resist to say what I think here ;)
This forum is wonderful, me, you, nacmat, tolstoyed, etc... are great football experts and it's very funny.

Korea are unpredictables and are full of surprised, but I'm sure and I hope you'll win.

that's also the brilliance of phobiazero's take on messageboards: you can talk about everything!
one thing you can say about this world cup: it's finally become a real world cup, with teams competing from all over the world, not just europe, even after the group stage!

Honestly, I'd like that this world cup will go in Spain. This nice nation deserve to win their first cup, Spanish loves football, they have one of the best championship on the earth (Liga), they have some of the best players in the world, they have 2 teams that dominated europe, Real Madrid and Barcellona, and they haven't win one world cup...
It will be very hard, there are a lot of strong teams but I say:
Good luck Spain, come on red fury... go, play well and win your deserved 1st world cup!!!

This England - Brasil game should be played today, because the tension is unbearable ... people are going mad with frustration ! On the radio now there are people phoning in explaining why England will win the cup...
"Because I was born in 1966 and my child was born in 2002" "because 1+9+6+6= 22 and 2002 , wow what a coincidence !" "England conceded one goal in 1966 group phase and they have again"
"I had a dog called lucky in 1966, and now I have a dog called beckham, which means beckham will score 3 against Brasil ...."
This nonsense is unbearable, and its because the build-up is too long, I hate the way people resort to superstition when they lose their stomach for real analysis .... BTW I still don't know who will wear what colours tomorrow, I think red would be best for England :) (joke..)

This world cup should go to spain, yeah. I liked it to go mostly to Mexico, but anyway...
Brazil will totally beat England. Up to a point, no luck applies, only quality and I don't think England has it. They had only one good performance so far anyway...

Tasos> was that one good performance the 1-0 spearing of pre-tournament favourites Argentina or the 3-0 destruction of Group A winners Denmark ?
remember who Brazil have beaten so far >
China ( didn't score a goal in all 3 games ) Turkey (thanks to an incorrectly awarded pen. ) Costa Rica ( who still managed to score twice) Belgium (could have won if their goal had stood)
I think England have played harder games so far and our defence looks solid. I agree that Brazil are favourites, but your total confidence is ill-founded. Maybe you remember the 2-2 draw with Greece at Old Trafford. Well that was then & this is now, and weren't Brazil busy losing to Ecuador and Peru around that time ?
PS> how do you like Derby ? I live only 15 miles from there but I prefer Nottingham for shops/record stores/ nights out ... nice to be away from the 40 degree heat of Athens i guess *sizzzle* :)

Eriksson is a great coach and England played one of best football that I saw in this world cup, instead Brasil didn't impress me so much.
England should beat Brasil, imo.

this coul be one chance (and it is a real good team)

FIFA bars any player from representing more than one nation, so Solari (who has played for Argentina) can never play for Spain.
Anyway, lets concentrate on tomorrows games>
England v. Brasil Tough, the hot weather conditions favour Brazil, but England have no injuries and have had two extra days recovery. Juninho Paulista is highly admired in England and a lovely person , (he used to play for Middlesbrough). Ronaldo is on fire, Rivaldo is always very dangerous, and Ronaldinho has really caught my eye. I think Brazil will win, but not without a very strong fight from England, who will not accept being beaten as easily as many sides. Scholes should be the key man for this game.
Germany v. USA Expect Germany to pose more problems for the USA than Mexico in terms of pure physical strength. German teams are always the biggest physically and I doubt the USA has the football sense to break them like England, Brasil or Spain could. However, if the USA start with pace and go for it, they have the ability to defend a surprise lead, and could take the game to penalties, but even then I'd back the Germans.
through on Friday (prediction) Brazil (2-1) golden goal Germany(5-4) penalties

about england-brazil match i wish brazil would win-not because of any national preference, but simply because i prefer how brazilians play-very simple but very effective-they don't complicate
advantage for england is imo, that they can deffend with the whole team as well as attack with the whole team.
so i think there is about 50/50 in chances

Nacmat I watch football from 1982, so I know that lucky go and come, and that the ball is round but what happened in this world cup seems politically strange (see FIFA, Blatter, Moreno, incredible goals denied, etc...), imo. Anyway I'll stop to speak about referees, 'cos i want enjoy only real football on our loved green field :-D

hey I begun watching football in 1984 (eurocup)... that year spain got to the final against france but we finally lost... 1982 was too soon for me (7 years) but I remember my father went to el bernabeu the day of the final and he brought me a copy of the cup made of plaster.
I also remember that we had an italian neighbour and how he screamed from the balcony each goal by paolo rossi
