what makes me doubtful about all these "unexperienced"
linesmen, is that in matches where korea played against
portugal, italy and spain, most of them were making
decisions in favour of korea
so i im not sure if experience has much to do with it

woah, i feel for you nacmat, that is very bad.

In my opinion, this world cup has had the best teams, the
best stadiums, the best fans, why not the best referees?
I've only seen that bald Italian ref (i forget the name)
once this world cup, and he is the best in the world. I just
doesnt make sense! come on FIFA!

The Asians are incredible!!
No violence and they have even learned other countries
national anthems.
Amazing =)

current ones

The refere in Argentina-Sweden was very good.
Totaly clean match , no bigger errors at all.
I don't remember what country he was from ? Dome Arab
country i think?
I hope he is in the final match.
A refere must have a good self confidence , thats when he
does good decisions.

who will win?

brazil

I hope... I like rivaldo, ronaldo, ronaldinho, roberto
carlos, juninho, denilson, edmilson, kaka, lucio, cafu....

but who knows...

germany has a strong team, but they have shown so little
effort so far...it looks as if they were keeping their best
for better ocassions... be carefull

korea can reach anywhere... we all know... and lets see
senegal... I prefer them to get to the semis so..., well If
I go with senegal then probably turkey will make it

I miss something here:

Up to this point, Guus Hiddink’s men hadn’t hit a shot
in anger on the Spanish goal despite the noise and colour
made by the Red Devil supporters. A deep right cross from
the right just evaded Ahn Jung-Hwan lurking for one of his
trademark headers (40’).
Joaquin, brought into the side to add pace down the right,
sprinted down the flank and bent in a near-perfect centre
that both keeper Lee Woon-Jae and Morientes, sliding in at
the back post, missed by inches (43’).
A flurry of chances from Spain minutes before the break as
first Joaquin couldn’t get his shot away after beating a
number of players. Then the ball broke to De Pedro on the
edge of the box but the normally lethal left peg fired the
ball inches wide (46+’). And in the final action, Hierro
had another header from a corner bounce onto the roof of the
net (49+’).
Spain started the second half as they ended the first.
Joaquin slipped through by Valeron, crossed for Morientes
who, from inside the six-yard box, missed a glorious
opportunity to give Jose Antonio Camacho’s team the lead,
firing well wide of target (50’).
Spain piled on the pressure and Joaquin, roasting his marker
again, cut inside on to his left foot but hit a weak shot
which was comfortably saved by Lee Woon-Jae (59’).
From absolutely nowhere, Korea had the best chance of the
game. A fine run down the left by Lee Chun Soo almost found
Ahn Jung-Hwan, but the ball was cleared at the last by
Hierro. From the resulting corner, Lee Chun Soo’s shot was
blocked by Puyol, the ball broke to Park Ji-Sung, who from
the edge of the six-yard box blasted a shot which was
brilliantly kept out by Iker Casillas at his near post
(67’).

where is the goal by spain? the one robbed by the
referee...it doesnt even talk about it

In the opening minutes of extra-time, Spain had the ball in
the net but it was ruled to have crossed the byline
following another outstanding run by Joaquin (93’).

the first goal disallowed - the referee blew his whistle
early, before the shot.

the second goal -- the korean team had stopped playing -
even tho the linesman decision was wrong, the koreans had
stopped playing anyways.

as the singer in pavement sang: "KOREA! KOREA! KOREA!" altho
i'm sure he was referring to the war ;)

i hope Korea stuff Germany - they are a fresh, exciting,
fit, committed team - the "traditional" footballing nations
should take note - when korea beat italy it was fantastic! i
was jumping and whooping - italy are just about the most
boring national football team, and they deserved it!

The Beat Team>

>23 minutes> very even
23-35> Spain
35-41> Korea
41-45'> Spain
45'-72> Mainly Spain
72-90> very even
90-120> very even_______overall>Spain (just)

Referee>
fair throughout, although he failed to book Spanish players
on 4 occasions for cynical and dangerous fouls (2 by sub
Luis Enrique). Pushing on a later freekick by Baraja (I
think) denied Spain a goal, but most referees would have
given a goal, and I would too :(

Linesmen>
awful. 1 offside incorrect against AhnJongHwang midway in
first half. 1 later against Morientes ( I think ) that was
very close. In another incident the ball was adjudged out
of play before a cross
for Spain, but it was clearly still in play. The ball ended
in the net.

Great Chances> first half Spain 4 Korea 0
second half Spain 2 Korea 2
Extra time Spain 2 Korea 2
overall 8-4 to Spain.

Spain> very unlucky, bad linesmans decisions, but they were
lucky on penalties v. Ireland so its an evening-out of their
luck in the end
Korea> Not at their best, because Spain defended superbly,
but had the luck and their usual fighting spirit , they
never gave up !

I'm gutted for nacmat, but you've taken it really well,
football is also about knowing how to lose gracefully, and
you are doing great, although it hurts ..my team are out too
so i know how how it feels ___- :)

The Spanish players were a disgrace in the end, but they had
more cause than the Italians to be angry at the linesmans
decisions, especially the one that (didn't go) went "over'
the goal-line... In the heat of the moment, I think you have
to appreciate just how emotional such decisions make you, I
was shocked by that decision !
I feel very sorry for Spain, because i think they played
slightly better than Italy, and deserved to win... but I
still hope Korea can raise their game again to beat the less
exciting Germans !!
