American dubbing of Asian films should be consider a war
crime.

hunt for the wilderpeople - 8/10, entertaining and
sweet-not-saccharine family friendly new zealand road movie.
thumbs up

well i took the recommendation from adam buxton's podcast...
he's a dad of a young teen who's starting to get a bit
sniffy about "dad films" but they were both really engrossed
by it. it's a Good Pedigree. no sex, not much swearing, only
a little bit of violence

Bad times at the El Royale - Has a stage play feel, with an
interesting character and plot development. 7.5/10

I remember getting loads of jacky chan films on video from
TJ Hughes, I don't know if they were bootlegs or what cos
the quality was horrendous, still enjoyed them though, and
yes police story is brill

yeah everyone is very good in that movie, I like the
shoddily masked desperation of Ed Harris's character as well

the city of lost children- older but creative/imaginative
the cuckoo- in a sea of shit movies, this one isn't so shit,
it's not spectacular but worth a watch. more of a serious
movie
district b13- fucking awesome kickass movie with parkour and
hunks. good example of a modern movie that isn't shit, so of
course it wasn't made in usa, resonates with what is really
going on in france too.
the equalizer- kinda like Taken but with denzel, pretty
kickass
gothika- a quality scary movie, not like halloween (the
unscariest scary movie)
the visit- damn this shit is scary in a brothers grimm way,
hardly any pointless gore. If you can get past the dorky
rapping kid parts. The opening talking lady looks like it'll
be a shit movie but it gets good.
gang tapes- way more raw/quality and believable hood film
than something like boys n the hood (baby boy is pretty good
too)
the naked prey- quite old but great film
banshee chapter- a drugs fuck w your brain till u see aliens
n shit film
breakdown- lots of replay value, redneck hell
martyrs- often voted in most disturbing films, its fiction
(i don't want to watch real at all), but pretty damn sick,
definitely dont watch on drugs or you might have a nightmare
inside of a nightmare

about schmidt- great movie, I wouldn't have guessed
all attenborough life documentaries
enter the dragon is far superior to older jackie chan movies
but rushour 2 is like a third as good.
rambo is great, but that 'billygoat puke' general is
cringy.
ps. fuck movies, demo scene "quite" has shit that is
superior to all movies

Dragon Ball Super: Broly 7/10

i'm a Dragon Ball Z person myself, but that doesn't matter
much

it was cool and the usual Dragon Ball stuff

Shirkers - 7/10
Signs - 5/10
Possum - 9/10

Like Ghost Stories last year my rating of Possum is probably
2 points higher than it should be but it just hits all the
right notes for me. Simple story told at a deliberate pace
that's incredibly creepy in a desolate England.

Some Abel Ferrara, noice! King of New York is my fave Walker
flick, with the Deerhunter. Bad lieutenant is great also.
Herzog’s similarly titled one doesn’t touch it. Try
Addcition as well
If you like these.

the trick. Only watched coz it was on tv mind!

Rose Byrne is fit, shame she's in such shit films.
Seth Rogen sucks.
That young blonde girl has quite a strange figure.
Zac efron I wish I had his body lol.

If you want to enjoy something dumb try house (a family make
a casino in their house) or office christmas party.

Seth seems unhip, not sure why. The films I’ve seen him
in he was ok but that was only three or four. 40 year old
virgin (lovely film), Knocked up and some other Apatow film.
Sonimwouldnt know.

Sorry, yeah was only mentioning it because you got a load of
Ferrara films. Need to watch it again as I saw it way back

more now that when I was younger.

Bohemian Rhapsody - What's so great about Bohemian Rhapsody
is that it was Freddie turning his back on heterosexuality
to mingle with all of those dirty corrupting homosexuals
that killed him, no wonder it is nominated for Best Picture!

not go to one of the CGI-fests.

Best Film Editing: Bohemian Rhapsody - bad result.

Best Costume Designer: Black Panther - bad result.

Best Cinematography: Alfonso Cuaron - bad result, should
have been The Favourite.

Best Sound Editing/Best Sound Mixing: Bohemian Rhapsody -
bad result.

Best Original Song: Shallow - bad and predictable result.

Best Original Score: Blank Panther - bad result.

Best Documentary: Free Solo - good result.

Best Animated Feature: Into the Spiderverse - haven't seen
it, but I loved Isle of Dogs - judgement suspended.

Best Adapted Screenplay: BlacKkKlansman - good result.

Best Original Screenplay: Green Book - terrible result.

Best Supporting Actress: Regina King - bad result.

Best Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali - bad result.

Best Actress: Olivia Colman - fantastic result.

Best Actor: Rami Malek - don't grudge him, thank fuck it was
not Bradley Cooper or Viggo Mortensen.

Best Director: Alfonso Cuaron - bad result.

Best Picture: Green Book - fucking atrocious result - three
films nominated that portrayed the black experience, and the
one directed by the white comedy guy won, give me a break.
