Allah, Buddah and James T Kirk

but how is it possible for a being to contain the three
traits simultaniously? How can a being be all-powerful and
all-good at the same time, for if the being is truly
all-good, it wouldn't have the power to do evil, which would
no longer make it all powerful.

mean the being HAS to do evil...

by giving human beings free will god granted us the ability
to make the decision to do evil in any given situation. a
truly omnibenevolent being would not have such an ability if
it were to remain omnibenevolent.

yeah perhaps you are right mimi, but really I find evidence
in the way things are...everything is mathimatical and even
in the chaos there is order....who made that order? I find
it hard to believe that it all just happened by chance....

Does he just sit infrount of a big veiw screen and flick
from person to person?
If prayer works why do I have to?

your talking about the teleological, or 'design' arguments
of theology, which I myself find the most compelling. It's
premises are as follows:

1) The universe and it's parts are extremely complex.
2) It's highly unlikely that all of this complexity is a
result of mere chance or "natural" process.
3) It appears that some sort of "intelligent designer" is
needed to explain the origins of such complexity.

well, I do disagree there... looking at Jesus, he was such
an amazing person because he had the power to do evil, as we
all do, yet he didn't... and he was only human... God as
well has the power to do evil I guess, but whether or not
you are evil is a choice...

010101: its called a relationship. any good one involves
initiated communication. sure he could just do everything,
but that once again doesn't require you demonstrating love
to him.

yes, but I'm talking about a TRULY omniscient being. By
saying god had the choice and gave us the ability to do evil
would make such a being not TRULY omniscient. It's a
paradox.

We live in a world of cause and effects. Everything thing
that has happened in the history of the world had some sort
of cause to make it occure. The big band is the original
cause, the effect being the universe, but what was the
trigger that caused the big bang to occure itself?

Love is much sung about - much sought after
and much misunderstood.
It is too often associated with plain liking and getting
what one wants.
"I love ice-cream and want one.
True love is unselfish - compassionate. There is no sense of
separation between the lover and the loved. This is union -
communion.
Love is not about personality or personal preferences and
when we can love those people we don't like then we are
truely capable of love. In love there lies great freedom -
self is no more.

peace!

And I feel very bad as I know our public education system
probably won't be able to help you very much. My suggestion
is think alot more about what your saying before you say it
if you want to be taken seriously. Do yourself a favor and
read all of your posts in this thread. Then pretend that
those posts were from somebody else, somebody with opposing
viewpoints to yours and see if you would take them
seriously.

i dont want to be taken seriously, why would i?it doesnt
matter whta you think of me one bit because i dont know any
of you!why would i give a second thought to what you think
of me? see the thing is , you get people on here say 'oh you
shouldnt say that you're going to staert an argument' blah
blah , i dont really care.... if you're so mature and im so
immature then do the mature thing and ignore me.... ?

from another point of view: im in a very bad mood , to the
point where my shoulder keeps twitching and i cant really
move my left arm very well cause the shoulder mucels are too
tense and i hate religion so this isnt a good subject for
me.Plus tibbar is a prick.<--- full stop.
