Christians are not good at all, whether they force their
beliefs on others or not. No good, nope.

the fact you said "religion sucks" is very offensive

Just because myths about higher powers are present in more
than one culture doesn't make it true. A majority of
opinion doesn't constitute factual evidence.

Besides, other cultural archetypes are shared in almost
every culture.

by the first 'is' you meant 'his'?

the easter bunny and santa claus are documented in so many
places , doesn't mean they're real.

it was started as a way of keeping people in order ,and
making people feel a part of something so that they didnt
riot etc . its just control by science fiction ,kinda like (
useing my imagination here) the matrix , its all fake but it
keeps 'us' ( as in humans) under control and calm etc.

ah but the question is how much the real life Jesus Christ
has to do with the biblical Jesus Christ.

how do you know that this is all bullshit ? as i said, i
don't believe in any god, matrix or other, but i there MIGHT
be something out there.

you talk like you would know everything.

yes, there MIGHT be a LOT out there.

the possibilities are endless. everything you can think of,
COULD theoretically be the case.

thus, it is more logical to adhere to what you can actually
experience - see, hear, smell, feel, taste.

but I feel this is an opening to the whole "what is reality
anyway"-debate.. again.

"forcing people to leave their beliefs
is wrong"

they don't have to rread it.

and forrcing people to have beliefs the same as theirrs is
wrrong.

well, I'm not saying " christians suck!" or anything.

it's your choice. I won't like you any less for your
choice.

I am an atheist, not an agnostic, for the above reason.

people aren't against religion, they are against
Christianity... you never see anyone dissing buddhism, or
hindusim or anything else... Christianity takes shit from
everyone...

and, half the people who diss Christianity probably know
nothing about it... all their personal experiences about
hypocrites and the like probably come down to one or two
people...

and another point... you know, Christians aren't perfect,
and they don't claim to be... yet if one Christian makes one
mistake, the whole religion is criticized... it really ain't
fair...

I guess you could say I'm picking on Christians. Its not
even the actually religion itself, its the people who twist
and pervert the Bible/Jesus's words. Evangelists on the TV
asking for your money pisses me off. You ever whatch some of
those channels? They have stadiums full of people with some
guy wearing a fancy suit in the middle, talking on a
microphone about why you dont need your money, the church
does.

But it seems to me, the majority of the Christians out there
are the stupid evanglist following sheep. Not even the TV
evangelists. Like where I live, we got 2 really big
churches, let me describe them:

Hoffmantown: This building is 3 stories tall and it sits on
about an acre and a half of asphalt used for parking. It has
elavators, coffee + gift shops, and numerous classrooms.
Multiple "mass" rooms can befound littered with numerous TV
cameras. This used to be a Baptist only church, until some
marketing guy realized that revenue would increase by
allowing all followers of Christ in, not just the Baptists.
Any teenagers attending are asked for personal information
like phone number and address so they can call you up to
tell you about events taking place. ****TRUE STORY: I had
given my info to them whilst in Middle school because I
attended with a "friend" of mine one sunday. They got all my
info and we praised jesus and did stupid games. I stopped
going there and guess what? I started getting letters and
phone calls trying to lure me back with offers of Pizza and
Prizes... But thats not all, they actually had recruited a
girl to call me, leave a msg on my answering machine like
she wanted a date, and said the meeting place would be -
GUESS WHAT - Hoffmantown church. Right around Valentines day
too. These people are sick

Calgary: Same as above only smaller. Includes playground for
the kids. I've never been inside this one, but it also has
cameras to televise their masses to cable suscribers. 2 guys
I work with go there and although they are nice, you cant
bring up ANY religion or ANY morals that dont agree with
theirs. Brainwashed to tha max.

you buy into the myth more than anyone else does... you
think hell is a lake of fire or some eternal nut-squahing?

where in the bible does it say it is a pitchfork in the
head?

nowhere, thats where.

Exactly, take this analogy to the wonderful gift of "free
will" God has granted mortal man:

God is having an election for supreme ruler of the universe.
Vote for God, you live. Vote for Satan (or anyone else for
that matter), you die. And there's no way to get out of it,
because if you abstain to vote at all, you still die!

Tell me how this is incongruous with what the Bible says
about God giving you a choice.

God isn't up for election, man doesn't validate God's
existance, it is the other way around.

In the old days is where all the hell came from , people who
wanted to control other peopl( cough 'the church' cough)
thought it would be usefull to give people something to fear
i guess , so they said if ur bad your gunna burn in hell.
which is crap anyway because if your bad you can just go
repent or whatever and go to heaven , such bollocks....

existed.

no... the christian culture and belief is just a culture
made up from lots of different layers of other cultures.
Even if jesus existed, im pretty sure his powers are said to
be bigger than they where. Talking about the existence of
christ is not really relevant tho, as it cannot be verified

Same with the existence of God, who knows.. maybe he's dead,
maybe the universe is just a burp of gas from another
dimension, or maybe there's a huge calculator up in the sky
drawing a random number for everything that happens on the
earth, or maybe we're just watching a sort of movie...

you'll never know for sure, so try to make the best of it on
this planet

Its like: Which version is the right one for me, and can I
