haven't we all had enough of the sound of someone raking

Thats the one track I can't stand. I didn't even like it's
father on the live sets. But the track that came after in
the set was amazing. I wanted that to come in. It didn't :(

Well the first 2 minutes are great. It was the last boring 3
minutes (which at the time excited me 'cause I thought it
would have that other track come in).

No way...Untilted explored its ideas nice and deep, like a
long tunnel under a fridge. It didn't just spit a sketch
into a sink here and there like a ball of saliva.

it differently, which is a good thing in my opinion. the
music's so important for human beings living in this age

coming off of the closure you get from the live show -
altibzz it picks up right after that from my viewpoint. it
starts w/ untilted.. lcc all the way to the liveshow and all
the way to out9hx are interrelated even if its not intended
that way. it looks and sounds sequential. all are parts to
one big 'thing'. thats just how it appears from my point of
view. i feel that way cause parts of quaristice make me
think of songs in the liveshow differently, in a bigger
context. well maybe not in a bigger context but closure is
brought?

do you feel quaristice is related to untilted? i havent
thought any of their other albums were related to one
another. its awesome

tankakern sounds like it was made with the techno viking in
mind.

at least as far as the sound/production goes i couldn't
agree more with cygnus. from the very first tone it feels
like back into mama. soft, warm, "at home", especially
compared to untilted, which is indeed very carefully laid
out and crafted, but i still think it sounds a bit
lifeless... too much emphasis on mid-high range, "reverby"
melodies are present but often buried too deeply etc... and
i don't have a car.

it kind of sounds like ae 'forgot' that not everybody has
high-end speakers/headphones to use for this 'music' which
i'm sure sounds impressive enough if you got the right
gear.

as with untilted, there are moments on this album that sound
really amazing. Sadly though you have to plough through a
load of garbage to experience them.

autechre are dead. i'm going to see dead people do a laptop
set in march this year. wicked.

bnc Castl does sound like a bit of a joke and somebody
mentioned above it sounds like some patch.

the little sounds before the song kicks in sounds a lot like
the beginning of a squarepusher song, which i cannot think
of off hand and don't feel like finding.

perhaps autechre have a beef/dislike for the squizpusher? as
irrational as that may seem, you figure it's possible since
prichard d yams likes the crap they put out on rephlex and
seems to not like others

The only track that pisses me off is Steels. bnc Castl
indeed sounds like a piss take, but is not irritating on the
least.
Tracks and fwzE are basicly what I'm expecting from
Autechre, my favourites at the moment.
It's between 8/10 and 9/10, but after losing some impact on
the second listen it's growing again.

is it possible to judge an autechre album in 24h, or in a
week or in a month???

i liked what i listened,
the sounding,
more pleasant and fun than previous albums...
composition seems similar to draftuntilted,
but its too early for me to give a clear valoration...

id just say its good,
but i already knew that,
even before listening to it...

I like how AE get their shit mastered properly too.
Excellent dynamic range on this album - rale sounds
absolutely lush. Compare the mastering to Clark's "lets turn
it to 11" effort and it just sounds so much nicer.

fwzE is bringin' down the house over here.

Rale still the best track though after 3 or so listens to
the album. The song is dark- in good company with Zeiss
Contarex, gelk, and Sim Gishel (most of confield at that
actually)... darker ae tunes always keep me coming back the
most.

really entertaining to skip through
not the kind of music i like at all but good, i take it as
them being light hearted, hope so
i wouldn't choose to listen to it all the way through
i thought incunabula was their best, is that the ambienty
pink and blue one with the sand dunes on, that one anyway,
plus bits of their first album
always thought they were way waaay overrated just coz of
who/when they were signed up by Warp
excellent cover, that's my favorite part
it is good compare all music to a simple 4/4 90bpm real 808
bass drum when working out if it is good or not

I agree with J198, I am not very impressed with this album,
though I've only listened to it through 3 times. But I got
distracted by EP7 and completely forgot about Quaristice,
which is a bad sign. The production is excellent, the sound
is deep and liquid, but the tunes are mostly
just...forgettable. Even dorky. Neither emotional (Chiastic,
LP5) nor evil robot music (Tri Rep, Confield) which are my
two favorite Autechre "modes." They're now in this
lighthearted, freeform, goofy mode, which I think isn't
that gripping. It's not bad, but not very good either.
5/10. Will see if it grows with repeated listens.

but as opposed to many of their other albums, this isnt an
album that takes long to get into.
its way more 'obvious', there is a lot of detail sure, but
doesn't take many listens to pick those up and follow along
to the ideas in the tracks.

i would propose that this album isnt so much a 'need to
grow' album, but rather one of immediate pleasure that you
learn to love as time goes by..
at least i got into it from the moment i heard it..
