Am i the only one who's NOT excited for this album? i dont
know why, but i've never gotten into boc... Has anyone
listened to the new bibio album yet though? It's great!

campfire potphase came out along with prodigy's always
outnumbered, never outgunned. with both albums, only one or
two tracks stuck with me; rest was meh.

prodigy came back with invaders must die, which i liked much
more. does this mean i'll like new BOC much more? or have
they fallen out of sync with prodigy, since prodigy is
gearing up to release a third post-career album?

Sorry, TCH was BoC best album from start to finish. I might
like some of their older work more, but as far as a complete
album goes it's there best.

i actually can't think of much wrong with TCH other than
that it was boring shite from start to finish. excellent
textures and production, great video for dayvan cowboy (the
only track i actually remember, a year or three after giving
up on the album). might give it another spin for you,
though, sweetie.

You'll either like it or you won't. The rest is pointless
conjecture.

im with revpersona here (and with skink too).
ive never understood how can someone not love TCH,
but theres lots of peoples (and comments) saying it sucks,
when for me is one of the most beautiful albums ive got at
home...

i hope new harvest is going to be an step forward from
there, and they keep on the lighting and new sound
experimentation...

offline Junktion from Northern Jutland (Denmark) on 2013-05-15 11:09 [#02456753]

TCH is a mature blend of nostalgia and nature. It drifts a
bit away from the hazy trippy BOC, and more into warmth,
guitar and groove. It's not my favorite album of BOC, but
it's definitely not the worst album in my music-collection!
I can put on '84 Pontiac Dream and Slow This Bird Down any
day of the week, and be happy about it.

offline Wolfslice from Bay Area, CA (United States) on 2013-05-15 11:55 [#02456754]

TCH lost all the edge of MHTRTC and geogaddi. It lacked the
dark psychedelic core that the earlier albums possessed.
Here's hoping Tomorrow's Harvest sounds completely
different.

offline EpicMegatrax from Greatest Hits on 2013-05-15 18:32 [#02456774]
Points: 25310 Status: Lurker

agree, it doesn't have that same moodiness and menace. i
don't like the guitar either; they did better with old VHS
samples.

i simply found TCH pleasant but unmemorable, like taking
some ambien or something. dayvan cowboy makes me happy like
roygbiv. the rest of it ironically sounds like... stock
music. needs a rue the whirl and some aquarius to re-core
the dark psychedelia in my life.

Imagine if BOC started doing hip hop with drum n' bass
backing. Then everyone would complain that the hip hop
wasn't urban-ambient enough.

amazing how fast the hype deflated once the "mystery" was
solved.... then new daft punk buries it properly... haven't
heard a peep about BOC on xlt in a week or two. maybe they
should have done this a month later than they did?

YES! At least one track that's going to sound better than
TCH. Let's hope some of that ol' edge has come back on the
rest of the album. My heart is in my pants and my thumbs are
all swollen now with the anticipation

the noises in the video off the web site sounded promising,
i too am hopeful this one will be proper.

i'd watch the video combo linked, but it's a wavy
cameraphone video with people yelling.

not but a week or two ago i was tricked by listening to shit
rips of the new daft punk album. now i've doubled down on my
policy of not hearing new stuff over shit camera videos or
photocopied preview streams, because they invariably ruin
it.

added to my excitement and anticipation rather than taking
away from them.

This track doesn't seem that great, in my opinion. Very
TCH-ish. At least at that 2kbps quality.

there may be 'echoes' of geogaddi, but mostly i think it's
just because it's structurally similar in how boc develops
their music.

Just saw the video and my initial reaction is that the song
is actully pretty good. Much better than that Campfire
bullshit 8 years ago. The video itself is pretty
underwhelming. It seems like they blew their budget on the
last sequence that starts @ the 3:27 mark and had to use
b-roll for filler.

Better than THC. That's all I'm hanging onto for now, since
this track didn't knock me for 6. It moreso prodded me for 3

offline Ceri JC from Jefferson City (United States) on 2013-05-24 09:27 [#02457265]

Already better than TCH. Unlikely to topple Twoism/MHTRTC,
but this could be on a par with Geogaddi if the stuff so far
is anything to go on. This is the first release I've been
this excited about in years.
