now that a high quality rip has been leaked on the internet
what are your thoughts?

I have to admit, despite being worried about the new
direction 'the line begins to blur' is an outstanding
track... the single, well i've only heard a low quality
version but it sounds like a modern day Pretty Hate Machine
era track... still need to listen to a decent quality
version though.

So so far I have mixed feelings about it, could go either
way.

the line begins to blur is on Acquisition, you've probably
got that as you have a mac.

i can only find the single in low quality,

the 'last inch' is also on there but i'm not sure if its a
fake or not because its an instrumental track

i don't have Acquisition, i use Solarseek...

ok, i'll have to make this clear. Its only 'the line that
begins to blur' thats online at the moment in high quality,
not the whole album

i'm downloading the line begins to blur, the hand that feeds
sounds like a piece of pop trash made just to get stupid 12
year olds into nin. i listend to it a few times, and its
very forgetable. trent needs to get back in touch with
chris verrena or whatever his name is and danny lohner and
make better music...i hope this line begins to song kicks

my predictions...

this album will sell lots of copies just on the lone reason
that its the first new thing from nin in a while.

if all of the songs on this album sound like these two i'm
def not paying money for the album. i could just buy the
tomb raider sound track and get the ultimate shitty nin
track 'deep'. i have the feeling that this whole album is
going to sound like 'deep'

i sincerely hope these leaks are fake tracks leaked just to
throw off downloaders like ourselves, but something deep
down inside tells me thats not the case since it is trents
voice and sound like something he'd write.

the hand that feeds sounds like something dirk diggler would
have sung in boogie nights...you know that scene i'm talking
about right? "Yooooooooooooou've got the touuuuuuuuuuch,
you've got the poooooooooooweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!"

scratch another favorite artist off my list. :(

"the fragile" didn't sell very well at all.

when it came out, it was on number 1. but the immediate week
after it plummeted to somewhere in the 500, which apparently
is the biggest fall from a number 1 position ever.

so it only sold well in the first week and very, very poorly
afer. big chance this will happen again.

the two tracks i've head sound nothing like deep...

i love parts of the single, especially that part in the
second half of the track where the electronic part comes in
and takes over the chorus. I'm guessing you've only heard
the shitty radio recording.

anyway i'm reserving judgement untill i've heard more
tracks, not bad so far

up.

I think 'still' is the best album he's ever made. Its almost
flawless.

the leaks are real; it's definitely trent's voice (who else
could be as bitchy and whiny?). why the fuck would an
artist create a song to 'put downloaders off'? this has
never happened - feel free to correct me, though. i don't
see why they'd put the effort in.

the line begins to blur sounded shit at first but it's
rather catchy once you listen to it a few times. not what i
expected, though; i wanted something along the lines of the
fragile but he did say they were taking a 'new' direction.

you're totally right.

i kinda like "the line begins to blur" but it is really
pretty obvious, i knew where it was going halfway through.
and "the hand that feeds" is fuckin' awful, that cheesy bass
riff reminded me of a Shania Twain single.

I've heard that the hand that feeds leak, and one other one
are fakes... or, at least not the versions that are gonna
show up on the album.

i have heard the two leaked tracks

1) They are genuine

2) They are shit

i have been fearing the worst from Trap Rinser for quite a
while - there have been many signs of him going downhill,
and my fears have been realised.

I mean for fucks sake - he ditched ALL of the material he
made for BLEEDTHROUGH and started afresh with this With
Teeth material....it's taken him a matter of months to get
this stuff done. he usually takes years to do his stuff
(fine tweaking it and so on).

that along with the whole DOOM 3 debacle, and Deep (i still
haven't seen Tomb Raider, and i wont be either) and his ever
growing ego make me think that the money has finally got to
him.

oh yeah and the live line-up has fucking Twiggy Ramirez in
it???!!!
WTF?

the above is a statment of the author and should in no
way be construed as the communal opinion. you are entitled
to your opinion on the subject matter, but you are not
entitled to an opinion on what i said about the subject
matter - if you don't like what i think about the new NIN
material, then that's your bronze souvenir

i know you said i'm not allowed to have an opinion on your
opinion, but my opinion is that i agree! he has a huge ego!

i love his latest updates on the access section. omg
reznor, if you are reading this, i have some advice for you!
if you don't want people to judge you based on a shitty
radio quality version of your shitty single, why not put a
better version up on your website so people can hear that
version instead? or if your label has a problem with this,
have some balls and leak a better version (if the better
version is even possible! ha ha!) of the song yourself.
don't make your fans listen to the radio you claim to hate
to hear your fucking song. i can see why he would be pissed
about the line begins to blur leaking, but the hand that
feeds is a single in the first place that's supposed to be
out in 3 weeks. get over it.

though..i think somewhere around 18, but i was never a fan,
i liked other bands much better at that time..perhaps it's
just that i should have started listening to them when i was

try "still" or "things falling apart" (remix album). i
recommend those for two reasons: 1. they're both great 2.
they're the most accessible, imo.

yet, if you like these, you still may not like "real" nin
albums. they're pretty different.

yes, give still a listen, i have on soulseek as flac - r40f
i havent really been able to get into the remix album, maybe
because i wasnt too impressed with the fragile, dont get me
wrong the fragile was good, but kinda suffered a little with
some of the tracks, this new one sounds (at least from the
two tracks around) so bogus - come on mr trent its time to
get away from the angst and anger and darkness and focus on
the most important thing of all - THE MUSIC, come on you did
it so well on still.
