You must've approached Tom at the wrong time. As has been stated heavily on internet and in interviews, he doesn't seem like one to bothered with before a concert. However, I was at the Orange Peel concert. My friend and I arrived early (we were the only ones in front of the main doors for quite some time). Anyway, Tom, Jonny and the other DJ were hanging out front for a while but I didn't want to bother him. Once the doors opened, I went inside and noticed Tom sitting at a table with friends. My friend waved to him and soon afterward he came over to where we were standing. He introduced himself and we chatted for a while about various topics. Although I could already sense that he was nervous, he was incredibly polite and nice and excited about the concert. This, however, was before the first DJ began performing. I can imagine that he'd be even more nervous as his set approached. I did notice him behind me, dancing and having a good time with a few friends during the first DJ set. |

I guess I didn't study up enough. I had always heard he was pretty pleasant with his fans. Besides, the only reason this happened was because of a misunderstanding. I was just a little surprised that he used a little force to express is anger. Also I thought it would make an amusing anecdote, and promote a lot of discussion, and it did. Are you from Asheville? |
