Happy Endings -- 3/5

some stuff that really works, some that doesn't quite as
well. good work from Tom Arnold, Lisa Kudrow, and Steve
Coogan. definitely need more Maggie Gyllenhaal, though.

Ok, after watching Greed (9/10) and Queen Kelly (9/10) I
must admit that E. v. Stroheim is as much "da man" as
C.T.Dreyer. Only a different kind of "da man". He's a "big
budget, no boudaries, lot's of cruelty and disdain for
people, having problems with censorship" "da man" as opposed
to "Bergman+Trier of the 20's" "da man".

Buffalo '66 - 8/10. Could have been 9/10 if not for the
ending.

Why was it banned? Just for the brutality?

i'm not really even sure what exactly it was about the movie
that promted the ban, i'd be curious to know though.

I expected Lukashenka's regime to ban films that show life
outside Belarus or Russia in brighter colours.

Batman Begins 4/5

nyah, good fun, embittered heir battles the underworld, what
can I say. Burton and Nolan are so different though it's
kinda funny.

I really liked everything about that movie except the
erratic camera work during the fight scenes. I can't see a
punch clearly land. In the old 60s Batman, the fight scenes
are lean, clean, and mean.
