dead poets is one of my fave ever films (shhh don't tell
people)

The Producers (remake) 6/10 (not bad for an afternoon of
easy going laughter and damn uma looked good in it)

Fun With Dick and Jane 4/10 : one or two funny moments but
nothing special.

oh man, so heavy handed though.

i had an english teacher that seriously made us watch it 3
times one year and write all these papers. he wore a
sweater that said 'Carpe Diem' across the chest and he
wanted us to call him "oh captain my captain."

i can't watch that movie anymore. it just makes me angry.

my Passion of the Christ review on Netflix:

I'm a big fan of Asian shock horror film. I love Takashi
Miike and Fruit Chan. I thought I'd seen everything when
they sliced off that girl's nipples in 'Ichi the Killer.'
Boy was I wrong. PASSION OF THE CHRIST IS AWESOME! I don't
know what this Jesus guy did to make the Romans so mad but
it must have been bad because THEY BEAT THE TAR OUT OF THIS
GUY. And just when you think they are gonna let up, they
break out the scourge and really start getting into it. Oh
man, they whoop and beat and slash and pummel this poor sap
'till he can hardly stand, but he clings to life, just a
little bit longer, just so we can watch them nail him down
to a huge piece of wood. Then they leave him hanging there
to bleed to death. So good. So much blood. And very
realistic. Asian horror got NOTHIN' on Mel.

The Hitcher, 3.5/5. I love car-related thrillers like Duel
and stuff, mind games on the road... and I love Rutger
Hauer. So this was swell. A bit mental, but swell.

Personally i think Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is the best
of the three, it's the one that stands up to repeated
viewings, also cinematography and the use of music is
superb. 4/5

The Consequences of Love 5/5

The best Italian film i've seen for a long time, nice use of
Boards of Canada and Mogwai, beautifully shot and the
central performance is one of the best i've seen for a while

The Beyond 3.5/5

One the better Fulci movies I've seen, nice ambience and art
direction, and a wicked, usually distractingly out-of-place
soundtrack. It's gross for the sake of gross, which is
always good.

Hostel - 3 fingers out of 5

The movie had an interesting concept, and it's quite rare
for a horror/thriller film to have realistic acting.

about two weeks ago i saw insomnia on tv i'd say 6.5/10

after i saw it i was interested to see who directed it
because it seemed similiar. my first hunch was the director
of seven, but it's the memento guy. as i'm looking at imdb i
click on memento and see that's it's rated 24th all time
which is pretty mind blowing so i borrowed it from my friend
and watched it tonight.

i must say i'm quite impressed. i couldn't quite piece the
events together until the end (which what's intended hahaha)
but i had part of the final scenario sort of worked out.
after the first 'eventful' scene i thought hey this is going
to be boring since it's backward and i know the ending, but
within 10 or so minutes i was intrigued by everything.

9/10

Doom - 2/5

I feel bitter that it's actually Doom3: The Movie rather
than being based on the original. Doom3 changed the looks of
the series, and it seems that there is to be no real Doom:
The Movie. Doom3 was an ok game, but Doom deserves to be
remembered for much more. But more than that, this film
sucked donkey balls. Utter predictability, with utterly
uninteresting and unoriginal characters (although calling
one doctor "Carmack" was cool), and simply no sense of
style.

Well, that is to say, no sense of style until the last 20
minutes or so. The only reason this piece of crap deserves 2
points rather than 1 is the whole "first person" sequence,
which was quite well made, I have to say! Too bad the rest
of the movie is simply filler material.

...

Scary Movie 4 - 1/5

The first two Scary Movies were bearable, but this is
getting old. A couple of snappy one-liners don't save this
turd from being wank. And turd. Wanky turd.

Nice film, not a masterpiece but just a nice film. Penelope
Cruz is HOT.

3/5

Not a bad film neither, I liked it, especially the music : 2
AFX songs (first one of CD 1 and avril 14th from drukqs), a
squarepusher one (i think it's tommib help bus or everyday i
love), a new order one (ceremony) and other nice ones...).
