I already explained why. You don't have to understand why I
rate it like that, and you don't have to care either. It's
no big deal.

You are right. But the flick doesn't compare to other
Lynch's films.... Searched all over the inet for the sence
of Mulholland Drive - 6/5!!!! And Lost Highway.

It's 5/5 for me even though it's flawed. Because I know
nobody is ever going to come as close to as I pictured it in
my mind as Lynch has come in terms of casting and visuals.

a 2 disc special edition DVD is being released in the UK 5th
April. Its the original cut and is re-mastered.

Is there really a 4 hour version Lynch made or is this just
a myth?

its ok, i'm not arguing over the rating you gave it. Did you
wee the TV series, what did you think?

While we're on the Lynch tip, I saw Thin Red Line the other
night (which I didnt't like btw) and I noticed that the
music in the film was almost identical to part (at about
2:33) of the Mulholland Drive score, only looped. Anyone
else noticed?

Didn't bother with it really. I sort of explained why in my
previous post ;)

Noticed also Lost Highway score looped by a russian band,
who cares, what is its name, and saw some other film where
it sounded. Forgot the title. Mulholland Drive, maybe?

i guess it's like what Lynch himself said when asked the
same question. "What mini-series?"

:( The remake is supposed to come out this year.

I found it to be very emotional, left me with an intensely
sad feeling at the end, how 'bout you?

It's a shame there's only one videostore which rents
Japanese movies around where I live, and the selection is
poor to say the least. :(

Elephant did not catch me. It's introducing people in 75% of
running time, then in 25% it is introducing the mass
murderer teens. Long boring follow-me-style handycams. I
really did not see the movie, because i FFWD'd when these
scenes were on. Then I let the massacre go... Really got
thru it in like 30 mins.
However it is having some ambience, and calmness although it
is not a girly movie.

4.5/10

Blue Spring - (dir Toshiaki Toyoda)

6/5

OMG OMG OMG!!!

Imagine Beat Takeshi directing a high-school based manga
movie.

Really graphic violence, although disturbingly satisfying,
contrasts with cherry blossom trees and minimalist shots of
nature and tokyo outskirts.

Maybe the best film I've seen this millenium.

Totally slick and ultra-cool - Only Japan and Hong Kong can
make movies that don't even need to try.
