Xltronic Newsletter #001

offline Phobiazero from the next Xltronic (Sweden) on 2013-03-07 09:09 [#02451057]
Points: 10507 Status: Webmaster | Show recordbag

Dear Community,

Xltronic.com has been online since 2001. It's been quite an
experience.
Our aim was to bring people together, including fans, music
makers and established artists from the electronic music
scene.
My guess is that we had quite a success doing this.

Due to lack of time, resources and funds - the site has been
hurt a bit lately (need more caring). It's difficult for me
to see this.
So, I figured we'd start fresh and reboot Xltronic into
something different. Something that is easier for me to
maintain, care and update.
A fresh new start is upon us. I'll invest into a brand new
server, co-located closer to me (e.g Sweden), build a new
site
using an established CMS with premium extensions. Despite
the changes, rest assured you'll feel familiar with the
site.
I know some of you like the site for what it is, but you
have to admit it could be improved. :)

Although, hesitating to ask for donations, I now feel
donations would be more than welcome
in order to establish the new site. I can't afford this
alone long run.

In addition to the kindly donations I'll send out another
newsletter, tomorrow or so, which includes an offer
from a partner regarding a software built for music making.
Buying this particular software by following the link,
would greatly help Xltronic financially.

Thanks for your patience and feel welcome to ask questions
regarding "Xltronic Reboot".

Paypal: phobiazero@xltronic.com

Sincerely,
Phobiazero

friends on and offline. Donated to the Reboot and here's to
the future!

optimistic IDM'er: Phobz is working hard on the new
site, and it'll be up sooner than expected~! WOW.

pessimistic thinker: Phobz has a mad, MAD drug habit
and fuckin' needs some muthafuckin' cash.

Hey Phobiazero, just a new user here who started only in
2001 randomly and oddly then finally became more regular
these past years. Thanks for the whole site and keeping it
going all these days. Need to get some way to get paypal to
make a donation, haven't got it at the moment. Anyway, hope
there can one day be a massive xltronic party with lots of
babes and stuff and good music.

oh yea, i meant, fucking great, long life to xltronic, maybe
the reanimation of the zilty will bring a reanimation of the
electronic scene somehow... it was a great resource of info
for idm-braindance back in the time, and im sure it was
essential for the genre success, wasnt it?

thanks phobia!
im afraid i cant donate now,
but my best wishes (and efforts) will be for the success of
the new zilty! (i hope the mb keep on running like
always...)

Interesting. I like the whole music prod software idea to
raise some funds. In a sense, how many years has xltronic
been untouched for? A little been of a refresh, reboot would
be positive i believe. Change is good anyhow.............

Photodementia any good to you? Wondering what sort of
musical direction the site will be about seeing as Aphex
Twin barely exists any more except as a memory

i do hope all the posts and logins will be carried over.
part of the charm of this place is watching people and
topics from 2004 randomly surface. without the old
content... i dunno. there's a reason people get their
favorite comfy chair reupholstered rather than simply buying
a new one. far less inclined to donate if it's going to be
zeroed out, as there's no guarantee the new version will
take off, and without the old gems there's nothing to fall
back on.

i'll sponsor this pinto $15 straight of for good times
had... once the perl script i wrote to spider all the posts
finishes (30 hours from now, by napkin math). next, i'll
pledge another $15 if all the old content gets ported to the
"reboot." finally, i'll drop a further $15 in 1.5 years if
the "reboot" doesn't totally kill the place.

this is also presuming i don't get hit by a bus tomorrow,
develop a smack habit, etc

I'm looking very much forward to this (both what
software-deal you have found, and the site). Please say so
if you need any assistance Phobz. I'm still working on web,
though more C#/.NET now, but my HTML/CSS is hardcore. I have
my exam as a webintegrator the 20th, and then I might have
some time for helping if you need it.

This site is very unique and it's design is still quality so
would be a shame to see it change greatly. However, XLT
definitely needs restoration of basic features it lost along
the way, so pleasing to see you haven't just given up on
it.

I have a paypal problem with linking my bank card but when i
get any new payments in I will gladly sling a few bob your
way.

Also curious to the software?
