Ok, I can't take it any more. I'm surprised I made it to
track 10. This is the most atrocious, embarrassing, and
god-awful public display of artistry I have ever
experienced. I am absolutely shocked. PLEASE, please curb
your curiosity, it simply IS NOT worth it. Put your fingers
in your ears whenever you hear this play anywhere, anytime.
If you don't, you'll be cursed to wonder why how anyone on
the planet go from where he was, to this Sunday night barn
town bar-like bullshit. Literally, his lyrics in this album
are actually so bad and so much more self-deprecating, he
basically sings how he knows that this attempt is a
worthless piece of shit. How could he (or anyone for that
matter) ever get to this point and be so far gone they would
still consider to release something like this. My friends,
I am only trying to forewarn you. Resist the temptation.
Seriously, the new Gwen Stafani record is more compelling
then this. This is like some reverse coverband shit gone
tired. If you like this record, chances are you don't even
have your driving license yet and have so much more to
learn. If I woke up tomorrow and the news said Trent Reznor
pulled some Kurt Cobain version 2 on himself, I would not be
surprised at all. This guy must not have any friends who
care about him. Otherwise, they would have intervened in
releasing this. Shit, I fear how bad the tracks were that
got CUT from this paltry fucking waste of a CD-R. heh heh

the single sounds very standard rock... and all his band
members look like interpol.

but i really hope it's not THAT bad. NIN has always been a
favorite for me.

I'm drunk
And right now I'm so in love with you
And I don't want to think too much about what we should or
shouldn't do
Lay my hands on heaven and the sun and the moon and the
stars
While the devil wants to fuck me in the back of his car

Nothing quite like the feel of something new
Maybe I'm all messed up
Maybe I'm all messed up
Maybe I'm all messed up in you
Maybe I'm all messed up
Maybe I'm all messed up
Maybe I'm all messed up
Maybe I'm all messed up in you
Maybe I'm all messed up
This is the only time I really feel alive

quit, some drag on like unwanted guests, and some know
they've run their course but want to still get paid.

still though, he created some music that really fit my

Why do groups like Gridlock break up at the height of their
talent, whereas people like Trent keep making poo?

Oh wait, its because Gridlock has class.

i don't know why i'm going to bother posting on this
messageboad in this topic but here goes.

I've got the album and listened to it a couple of times and
there is no way it is as bad as you are making out. Its more
song based and there are two or three tracks that are
poor... but thats out of 15 tracks. People who haven't heard
the album are basing their opinions on the single, possibly
the weakest track on the album. Love is not enough,
Sunspots, Every Day is Exactly the Same, Right Where It
Belongs are highlights for me at the moment.

All i can say is listen to the album yourself and make your
own mind up instead of jumping on the 'xltronic nin hate
bandwagon' in which comments like "ooh, i've heard the
single and it sucks so the album must suck too" are all too
common.

I've heard it and I'm not impressed with it at all, really.
Especially Love is Not Enough, With Teeth, and Only.

The lyrics to almost all the tracks are really pretty awful.
Just barely above par for a Front Line Assembly record.

Maybe all of NINs talent lies with in the band members that
get purged every album. nin's best years were up until the
downward spiral came out 11 years ago...the perfect drug
single was awesome and gave you hope for things to
come...but the fragile was a let down, but at least the
instrumentals were good....but now i think trent has
surrounded himself with a bunch of mindless yes men that are
just thrilled to play in nin have nothing to offer
musically...except hands and instruments to play what trent
has dictated to them.

trent reznor is nine inch nails, and he has ruined it. get
back your old band members dude.

After the Fragile my love of NIN went. I gave it a chance
and really wanted to like it. But after a week ar two in my
CD player I shelved it and it has never been back. I guess a
middle aged milionare rock star ran out of angst.

in my opinion...

the fragile is a grower. it's worth digging out again.
it's one of my favorite nin albums now and i didn't like it
the first few times i heard it. i like it more than TDS.
you just really have to give it a chance + be in the right
frame of mind... the "left" disc is better than the
"right".

by the same token, there's nothing i am "missing" with this
new single. it's a very stripped-down (in the most
over-produced way imaginable) tune - it is what it is.
there's nothing challenging about it. it's as obvious as
the strokes or whatever it is they listen to these days.

just like that song, "deep" - that song blew. bands put out
lousy records now and then, especially bands that have been
around this long. it happens, we'll live.

i'm not saying this to be insulting to you, you just happend
to touch on one of my pet peeves.. i'm sure you were
joking.

i don't think "mainstream" is a cut down at all. i don't
really think the inherant value of anything goes down as
more people start to appreciate it..
