for much of fun - read this "with teeth" interview.

the interviewer has Trent's cock so far down his throat he
must be seeing the world through a teary-eyed haze.

oh wtf?

“I’d like to record a drum track.” Ross responds,
“Alright Trent, I’m going to bring up some of your
favorite drum patches.”

am i to understand that at nothing studios, they like to
talk to each other as though they're auditioning for sesame
street? "yes, bert, that is a good sound!"

you'll either love it or hate it apparently. ordinarily,
i'd say that sort of polarization of fans is a good thing.
but not in this case.

well thats up to you, make your own mind up after hearing it
for yourself, its getting pretty good reviews in the
press... and mixed reviews elsewhere. i'd reccomend it,
others here won't.

it gets worse. this guy is seriously in love with Reznor.

"Once the patches are loaded into Battery inside of Logic
—which is used primarily as a MIDI host for Pro Tools—
Reznor turns to me and says, “Okay, Steph. Pick out a
number between 4 and 14.” When I respond, “14,” Reznor
casts me his somewhat branded dirty look, and says “You
would pick the fastest timing. Alright, fine. Let’s do
it.”

oh gosh darnit Steph!

and..

"When Reznor finishes playing, he turns to Ross and
states, “Let me hear those.” Ross plays the drum tracks
back and Reznor, deploying the quick decision making
expertise that is evident in most world leaders, states,
“Okay, I want part 1 followed by part 3, followed by part
2.”

Aside from NI, Reznor attests to a few more plug-ins.
“The Waldorf Attack is a good little thing to use a
lot.” He also deployed the use of the previously PC-only
Trash plug-in extensively for “With Teeth.” “But
don’t even try using Trash on a Mac without saving your
song first,” he cautions. Then we kissed passionately
with tongue... and teeth.

this is how 'With Teeth' ranks among a few other NIN
releases (in my opinion, obviously)

1. Broken
2. Downward spiral
3. With Teeth
4. The Fragile
5. Pretty Hate Machine

Notes: Broken and Downward Spiral are virtually a dead tie
in my mind. I place Broken over DS mostly because of my
history with that album. Also I find it to be more angry
than, like, whimper-y and i prefer the angry NIN to the
whiney. On the other hand DS is a technically great album
in sound design, orchestration.. yeah very very close. could
basically go either way.

Pretty Hate Machine ranks low mostly because i never really
liked the track 'down in it' and a couple others. It also
sounds the most 'dated' to me of all the NIN major releases.
it reminds me of fucking Soft Cell or Flock of Seagulls or
all that tired 80's shit. but don't get me wrong, i do love
a lot of that album. 'Something I can never have' is one of
my all time favorite NIN tracks.

The Fragile i rank above PHM because again, my own personal
history with that album. I'll always associate it with the
Fragility Tour which was one of the best shows i've ever
been to. and of course it's just better. while there are a
lot of tracks on The Fragile i don't really like, the other
tracks i really love.

With Teeth I feel is more concise than The Fragile. If the
Fragile was edited down to 1 disc of solid tracks I'd
probably like it better. Also, I think With Teeth is more
"Broken Like" and closer to the angry NIN I love most.

once again, this is my opinion you flamethrowing cunts.
i've stated my opinion and my reasoning behind it so, yo...
yo!

whoa check this:
Reznor turns to Ross and says,“I like that. Let’s
keep that order. Now I’d like to do a tambourine part.”

After yet another stellar performance, I realize that the
absence of studio musicians isn’t a control thing, it’s
purely logistical. No studio musicians are required because
Reznor is a virtuoso when it comes to probably every
instrument short of the physical drums.

alright, i like it. but i am disappointed with the artwork.
it's nice, but there's nothing to it! no booklet, a cheesy
pic of trent on the inside... but i guess for the price,
that's what you get. also there is a web address that lets
you download the lyrics w/ artwork, but the damn image is so
big, it runs slow in preview! what?

my take after listening two times - the last track by far
one of the best nine inch nail songs i have ever heard - the
rest of the album so far is crap, maybe the first track is
good.

that no booklet thing is lame, i agree.

someone cut the lyrics & info pdf into pages so you can

hah - uhm, YES.

QUESTION SUBMITTED BY COOL SODA DUDE:

I NOTICED THAT YOU AND YOUR BANDMATES IN NINE INCH NAILS
EXCLUSIVELY DRINK COCA-COLA AND THAT'S THE ONLY BEVERAGE IN
YOUR TRAILERS. WHY DID YOU STIPULATE IN YOUR NEW CONTRACTS
YOU WOULD EXCLUSIVELY DRINK COCA-COLA CLASSIC? IS IT THE
DELICIOUS, REFRESHING TASTE? I PERSONALLY THINK COCA-COLA
IS THE BEST DRINK ON THE MARKET. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

RESPONSE FROM TRENT:

I'VE DRUNK COCA-COLA FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, AND THEY'VE
BEEN VERY COOL WITH US. THEY'VE COME OUT WITH A
REVOLUTIONARY NEW FLAVOR THAT I CAN'T REFUSE. WITH TEETH IS
A CONCEPT ALBUM AS YOU KNOW, AND THE CONCEPT IS A CHILLED
CAN OF COKE. THE TITLE TRACK IS ACTUALLY ABOUT, YOU KNOW,
DRINKING COCA-COLA INSTEAD OF BRAND X. DRINKING COKE REALLY
IMPROVES MY LIVE SOUND AND THAT WAS MY NUMBER ONE PRIORITY
ON THIS TOUR. I'VE GOT A COCA-COLA BRAND CUP HOLDER
ATTACHED TO MY MIC STAND.

you must be drunk, but you don't smell drunk. have you been

cause, i mean, if you were drinking Hennigans™ scotch we'd
never be able to tell, cause as we all know Hennigans™
goes down smooth, and afterwards you don't even smell!!!
