It was really an hard match but also lucky for Juve. I'm
proud of them, 'cos they fight in 10 untill the end, and
Zalayeta scored in the only one shoot of extra time.
Buffon made a great save on Kluivert.

Barça deserved to go in semifinals too, yesterday i was
happy but a little bit sad for you... I prefered to see
Barç-Juve in the grandfinal.

I give many chance to Manchester. Old Trafford will be
incandescent, if United plays as they did against Juve in
Turin, will be really a hard defensive match for Real
Madrid.
I think it will be a spectacular match.

I am kind of sad you know... I expected more from
barcelona... but I am happy for you... I will see the match
today, I dont really care who passes between manchester or
madrid, but I think that for juve manchester would be easier
even though manchester has won them already

Honestly, I'd prefer to meet Real Madrid, it would be really
a prestigious match.

Another reason is that tactic of play who Manchester use is
more dangerous for Juve, imo 'cos red devils are faster than
us. Real Madrid has incredible champions, but the compact
defense of Juve can oppose them well, while Manchester is
too fast for us, imo.

Then I hope we'll have Trezeguet ready for play. In the
first match we'll play without Davids, Montero and
Tacchinardi.

We'll see...

btw: I'm really sorry for Barça (you know i like this team,
and for you), so yesterday I wasn't totally happy at 100%
I'd be happy at 100% or 110% if we will beat Real Madrid or
Manchester U. in the next match ;)

Hey boy!!!! Real Madrid strong as an ox! Manchester weak as
a kitten. Where now for Beckham? Ronaldo look fat but he
play like angel with webbed feet. 3 out of 4 Italy in semi?
What happens? Where Italy strive from? Although Madrid
strong contenders I consider Milan may be triumphant at end.
Which one? I can keep a secret.

Hey! ryan giggs go bald before Manchester reach final again!
Your horse faced forwards are no competition for the might
of Madrid! Bow down to the real deal. Although i think Italy
are turning the knot on this competition. Gattuso is a giant
amongst midgets! I favour AC Milan to be triumphant in final
and Alex Ferguson will be guzzling whisky again.

although i'm a fan of Real Madrid, and they are an exciting
team to watch... i've always prefered Serie A to the other
leagues... and hope that one of the italian teams will win
(Juve!), but i have to say, with a lineup like Real has...
there's really no reason why they shouldn't be able to beat
any other team on the planet (including all national teams)

great football yesterday! i'm really happy who Juve will
meet Real Madrid, it will an exciting match! Zidane will
meet Juve again.
For beat this Real Madrid, we need the best Juve of 2003
with all best players on the field (as Trezeguet, Del Piero,
Nedved, Thuram, etc...) Unfortunately Davids and Montero
will miss first match at Bernabeu.

Real has best quality player on the field, but Juve is a
solid team, with a strong defense and good sudden counter
attacks, with Zambrotta, Nedved, Camoranesi. Anyway Juve
will need best Del Piero and Trezeguet (Treze-goal)

I think we will see best attack of this champion's league
against best defense.

2003 is the year of Milano city with an incredible derby in
semifinals.
Milan play better than Inter (who will miss Vieri too), but
I'm not sure about final result... Inter is lucky and hard
to lose so they have a lot of chance, imo.

Real Madrid - Juventus
Milan - Inter

I think inter didnt deserve getting to the semifinals...
valencia did a lot more..., and yesterday milan was so lucky
against ajax

I want to sho my respect and admiration towards ajax: a
great young team with the best football I ve seen this year
(much better than madrid)

well juve knew how to play their chances, and they did
really good... I think lippi knew that barça would go crazy
to get a goal so he took of del piero and put tudor... then
it was a matter of time and skill to take advantage of any
mistake barcelona could make (very intelligent, as it was
thir only chance with one player less)

but in milan´s case I think it was just random luck

Lippi used a risky tactic against Barça in Nou Camp. If the
shoot of Kluivert at the end was goal, now we'd speak about
Spanish derby Barça-Real Madrid.
Often, in football episodes decide the matches and future of
team.

Milan was lucky yesterday, Inzaghi and Sheva always scored
after lucky rebounds.
(Honestly I hoped Ajax passed to semifinals, 'cos i prefered
to view Real-Juve and Ajax-Inter, and then grandfinal
Juve-Ajax. If Juve will win against Real, they will play
against another Italian team and I don't like it :-/ )

1)

Ronaldo celebrates his first goal of the night

A high-class hat-trick by Ronaldo ensured a fourth
successive UEFA Champions League semi-final for Real Madrid
CF after a memorable night of football. If next month's
final, at the same stadium, matches the quality displayed
tonight by two of the world's most famous clubs then we have
much to look forward to.

Beckham out, McManaman in
Both coaches sprang major surprises in their team selection,
Sir Alex Ferguson leaving England captain David Beckham on
the bench and Vicente del Bosque picking Beckham's erstwhile
international team-mate, Steve McManaman, in midfield.

Van Nistelrooij chance
With a full house to roar them on come what may, United
began in determined fashion with Juan Sebastián Verón,
back after a six-week lay-off, looking to pull the strings
in midfield. But the first chance fell, almost inevitably,
to Ruud van Nistelrooij. The leading scorer in this season's
competition cut inside Michel Salgado before unleashing a
fierce drive from a tight angle which Iker Casillas did well
to tip over.

Ronaldo on target
Madrid seemed happy to soak up the early pressure but their
passing was crisp and precise, and when Guti, playing in a
surprisingly withdrawn role, picked out Ronaldo in the
inside-right channel, United were exposed. The Brazilian
took full advantage, slipping past Rio Ferdinand before
driving right-footed past Fabien Barthez at the near post.

Barthez to the rescue
United, as is their custom, refused to be demoralised and
continued to press with Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Ryan Giggs
becoming more and more prominent in support of Van
Nistelrooij. But Madrid almost caught them out again when
Luis Figo's mis-hit shot had to be turned over the bar by
Barthez.

2)

Scores level
As the half wore on United warmed to their task. Solskjær
was centimetres away from turning in a low cross from Van
Nistelrooij, Giggs flashed a shot just wide and Solskjær,
again, drove straight at Casillas. Finally they broke
through two minutes before the break, Giggs finding
Solskjær on the right and Van Nistelrooij converting the
cross from close range.

Casillas alert
United were suddenly in the ascendancy and might have taken
the lead in first-half injury time when first Solskjær and
then Van Nistelrooij were denied by the alertness of
Casillas. However, a bad miss from McManaman served as a
reminder of how much United still had to do.

Brazilian connection
It took Madrid just five minutes of the second half to take
the lead on the night. Luis Figo had hit the bar after
mesmerising the United defence, who were unable to clear the
danger and eventually Ronaldo was on hand to turn home a
pass from Roberto Carlos.

Hat-trick complete
United hit back straight away, Iván Helguera diverting a
Verón shot into his own net, and Casillas then saved
outstandingly from Solskjær and Verón before Ronaldo
applied the coup de grâce for Madrid. Fed by Figo and
twisting and turning his way towards goal, he unleashed a
ferocious shot from the edge of the area that flew past
Barthez.

Breathless finish
There was still a trademark free-kick and another more
scrambled effort from substitute Beckham that gave United
victory on the night, but the plaudits belonged to Madrid
and Ronaldo, who left to a standing ovation from Madrid and
United fans alike.
