yeah, woofer is not delighted...

it was 2-1 for milan
dida saved 2 or 3 clear juventus chances...
both teams were pretty equal. it was a GREAT game, both
teams put in all their energy.
second goal by inzaghi was beautifl-it would be a lost ball
for the most of strickers, but he made a goal out of it-and
buffon is goalkeeper, remember, so inzagi is really an
wxcellent player.
juventus scored a nice goal after a great free kick by
nedved (tudor just touched it)...
all in all great game-these two are certanly the best clubs
in italy at the moment-imo.

... I dont think barça will be strong enough to beat
juve... but lets not loose the hope

hmm, could be-juve has nedved and you have saviola...
i think it will pretty much depend on how this two will
play...

btw, del piero made some nice moves today again-so another
trouble for barca
but in either way there are going to be 2 great matches...

I think it depends a lot of how can overmars run his side
and how our midfield does against davids and nvdev,
zambrotta and camoranessi

well it gives you an idea

for example:

milan has lost last two matches in europe but they won juve,
so you can see they are still feeling strong, they just lost
in europe cos they were already cualified

Ruud van Nistelrooy crush Fulham with a magnificant
hat-trick

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-03-23 18:04 [#00612295]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

yeah, nistelrooy is the only real threat for madrid...

in my honest opinion all teams (except for real and united)
are on the same level (more or less), so it doesnt really
matter how they play in their leagues... :)

yes, juve lost with honour against a strong Milan. Great
Dida.

Barça won 6-1 ?!? Gulp... :-/ (i'm scared...)

btw: I'm pretty sure who Barça will kick out Juve from
champion's league... in the past i had bad experiences
against them and i haven't forgot yet.

I am not so sure...
juve has the strongest defense I know:
montero, ferrara, tudor and thuram

a very solid and dangerous midfield:
zambrotta, davids, nevdev and comeranessi

and a great attack with the genious del piero and the
skillfull trezeguet

Juve in Italian's league play at 90 / 100%, while in
champion's league (I don't know why) but they play at 60 /
70%

If Juve would play at 100% they have more chance to beat
Barça, but if they will play at 70% they will be out of the
games.

well we will see very soon...

dont you think this are a great 1/4 finals?

I mean all the teams here are so good...

I just miss bayern munich and arsenal, but this 8 teams in
the 1/4 are all really strong and they have showed that they
are really the best 8 in europe this year

(maybe depor and arsenal deserved being here for the
competition they have done so far)

maybe the only one who really miss is Bayern Monaco for his
traditions.

still be triumphant. They are strong with two teams but is
any good enough to lift cup. Time will tell. lol.

Three venues vie for Champions League final
Tuesday, 25 March 2003
Europe's club competitions occupy a key place on the agenda
at the two-day meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee,
which began in Rome today.

Two days of talks
The committee has gathered in the Italian capital to debate
various current European and world football issues. The
meeting is being held in the run-up to the XXVII Ordinary
Congress, which will take place in Rome on Thursday.

Eagerly awaited decision
A decision will be taken at the meeting on the venues for
the 2004 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup finals. For next
year's Champions League final, the stadiums under
consideration to stage this prestigious event are the Arena
AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany; the AOL Arena in
Hamburg, Germany; and the Amsterdam ArenA in the
Netherlands.

The Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and the
Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden have been chosen to
host the 2004 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup finals
respectively.

Modern venue
With a capacity of 54,100, the Arena AufSchalke, a
multi-purpose complex in the middle of Gelsenkirchen in the
German Ruhr industrial area, is one of Europe's most modern
venues. It is home to German Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04,
who played their first match there in August 2001. The
stadium has a retractable roof and a pitch that slides in
and out of the bowl.

yeah, i saw inter-roma, really an exciting match! I don't
like Morfeo, and he did a stupid error yesterday.

I'm happy for Juve, but for this year is more important the
Champion's League, and I'm really worry 'cos we will play
without our best player, Pavel Nedved.

Now it will be very difficult to win against Barça...
Nedved and Trezeguet are too much important for Juve :-(

Nedved is really a strong viking and there's some a very
little chance who he will play against Barça. Trezeguet
will not play for sure.

Probably Juve will play with DelPiero-Zalayeta (the balck
giant)-DiVaio

Magic Madrid take charge
Tuesday, 08 April 2003
Real Madrid CF remain on course for a record tenth European
crown after a 3-1 victory over Manchester United FC in their
UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg at the
Santiago Bernabéu. In the night's other first-leg
encounter, AFC Ajax and AC Milan drew 0-0 in the Amsterdam
ArenA.

Figo curler
In Madrid, United went close in the 12th minute when Ruud
van Nistelrooij looped an overhead kick narrowly over the
bar but the hosts were ahead just seconds later as Luis Figo
opened the scoring with a spectacular strike. Zinedine
Zidane nudged the ball into Figo's path on the left of the
area and the Portuguese winger curled a right-foot chip over
Fabien Barthez and into the far corner.

Raúl on target
The visitors found themselves further behind two minutes shy
of the half-hour mark. Paul Scholes gave the ball away just
outside the United area and Zidane threaded a ball through
to Raúl González, who turned and drilled a low shot past
Barthez for his 42nd Champions League goal.

Away goal
Raúl scored his second of the night four minutes after the
interval, firing a 20-metre shot low into the right corner
after a clever pass to the edge of the area by Figo. But
United scored what could prove a vital away goal three
minutes later when Van Nistelrooij was on hand to head in
from close range after Iker Casillas had parried a Ryan
Giggs effort. The goal was the Dutchman's eleventh in this
season's competition - a new Champions League record.
