what do you think about guti playing in the midfield?
imo he cant play there-it just seems to me like he doesnt
fit there-he should always be playing like you put it there
IMO

and hurray for morientes-i always liked him!

im sure next game in torino will be much better...juve was
pretty good (and they will be even better with montero and
davids) so if madrid wants to pass them thy will have to
play much better (i hope ronaldo is not badly injured)

first half should have ended 2-0

but juve get petrol out of nothing

then in 2nd half juve played really good

i didnt see that goal by trezeguet...but yeah, juve played
really good in the 2nd half

and even though juve played great in 2nd half madrid did the
2-1 and was about to do the 3-1... so its gonna be a hard
match for both in turin

well, i saw a great match with a beautiful real madrid
especially in the first time. I'm pretty happy about final
result, 2-1 at Bernabeu isn't so bad, return will be really
hard.
I'm sure Real will score at least 1 goal in Turin, so Juve
should play a great match if they want to go in the final.

Zidane, Ronaldo and Figo are wizards with ball between
feet.
Nedved and DelPiero played bad yesterday, instead I liked
Trezeguet, Thuram and especially Zambrotta.

Today Milan-Inter

hey dudes long time no see

i see this thread is still going strong , and juve too...
you must be pretty happy woofer :)

I've been away from here so long because of extensive
travelling. I'm currently living in Saigon , Vietnam where i
have girls throwing themselves at me (such a hard life :D)
.

will watch the milan derby at 2 AM local time here and i'll
enjoy the fierce rivalry and massive occasion !!! I have no
preference, but will support whichever team plays fairest
and goes out for goals.

viva football :))

hmm, i think madrid wasnt on the quite same level yesterday
as they were against manchester-but this was probably more
because of lippi's tactic than madrid having a bad day...
i agree nedved had a bad day though

i hope inter can win today, its going to be pretty tough
without vieri...

(im of to saigon now...)

yes plenty here for you tolstoyed :D

a good result for Juve last night... madrid could have
scored more near the end...

i hope juve don't play for 0-0 and then try to squeeze a
winner near the end in the return leg. always better to see
lots of goals !! ( like man u 5-6 real )

i think juve will start the game same as yesterday-careful,
to see what madrid is going to do...they really played nice
tactically...they saw madrid wasnt in their best form so
they started to play much more opened football after the
first minutes
and yeah, i would love to see many goals, but im affraid we
wont see this because italian teams are playing too hard
football imo and they're putting more effort on defence than
scoring goals

(now im really of to saigon)

juve tactics and her solid kind of play stopped a little the
fast armored of real madrid, and limited their fantasy and
play.
it's one of best weapon of this juve.

anyway i don't know why, in the last 3 years del piero
doesn't play well where are important matches :-/

nedved wasn't in perfect conditions of health, so i hope to
see the real nedved in the return match.

hi nacmat..

who do people in spain think will win tonight ?

and woofer... which milan club do italians consider the
BIGGEST ? I've always thought AC Milan has had the most
success in recent times (90's) but that Inter is more
succesful before then, and probably has a greater support
because of that tradition .

Am i right ? which team has the biggest support now ? Or are
they dead level ?

would be interested to know.

And do Juve still have the biggest nationwide support of all
the italian sides ? or do allegations of bias from referees
make the rest of italy feel resentment to them ?

In england i think the biggest clubs are:

1. man united
2. liverpool
3. arsenal
4. newcastle

although newcastle maybe have the best supporters and most
people like to see them do well ... and many people don't
like manchester .

I like this kind of info & stats.

Ok, well... about Italian team supporters, here below tha
chart

1. Juve
2. Milan
3. Inter

You perfectly understood the situation, in fact Inter was
2nd untill 80's but then after Gullit, VanBasten & co.
period, Milan started to get much more fans and now it's the
second fav team in Italy, really near to Juve.

Inter is giving many dissatisfaction to supporters, last
victory in italian championship is dated 1989!

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-05-07 08:29 [#00687890]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

inter sould put more effort on attack
i mean with all those great atacking players they should
score goals not deffend!
but, they are still my favourite italian team

and i thought roma would be pretty high on that support
list-i mean is one of the oldest clubs and its from a big
city...
well, this is a little surprising

very interesting! i'm glad to see who Liverpool is always
2nd, 'cos they're not winning much (as manchester or
arsenal) in last years, but i remember who in the 80's it
was one of the strongest team in the world as Real Madrid,
Juventus and Barcelona.

I remember great derby LIVERPOOL-EVERTON.

What about Everton? They've much supporter or not? I think
this team has a new wonderful player called Rooney, probably
a new star in the UK football.

And what's happened to Nottingham Forest? They are in 2nd
division, isn't it? It was a great team in the past too.

probably the chart should be:

1. Juve
2. Milan
3. Inter
4. Rome
or Naples (is in 2nd division, now are risking 3rd division
but they have a lot of fans anyway)

napoli needs maradona to avoid the 3rd division :)

i have no idea what population does milan, torino or roma
have, but i always thought roma was much bigger...
its normal for juventus to have the most supporters as
torino FC is not that good and probably most of the torino
population is suporting juve...but it certanly is a surprise
to see milan and inter doing so great!

everton have done pretty well this season and rooney is a
futere star for sure! they have strong loyal supporters,
most people from liverpool support everton, then people near
liverpool support liverpool

juventus has a lot of supports also in centre and south of
italy.
there're milan and inter fans in south and centre too (i
don't know why).
instead there are really few persons in north who support
Rome or Naples or Lazio.
this should be why juve, milan and inter as much more
supporters.

in uk it's the same, lots of manchester united or liverpool
supporters in the south, but little or no arsenal/chealsea
supporters in the north

guess it's to do with success

i get the feeling that northern italians look down on rome
and the south as being second-class . i think napoli gave
the north of italy its feelings when they saluted maradona
in the semi-final of 1990.
it doesn't surprise me that nobody in the north supports the
rome clubs.

Nottingham forest ?

well, they are a regional team, which gets around 22,000 for
home games. until Brian Clough managed them in the late 70's
they had only been a second and third division club. since
Clough left, they have not achieved anything. Really, they
are not a big club. Not in the top fifteen anyway.

i would say something like this
1 man u
2 liverpool
3 arsenal
4 newcastle
5 leeds
6 everton
7 man city
8 chelsea
9 tottenham (spurs)
10 aston villa

there are other big clubs ; sunderland, middlesbrough., west
ham, leicester, southampton, blackburn ... who get 30,000
every week but these sides don't win as many big trophies..

Atletico de Madrid
Athletic de Bilbao
Valencia
Betis
Deportivo (only in last years)

of course deportivo has a great support nowadays... maybe he
could even be third or 4th in that chart... but teams like
betis have a higher support through history...deportivo was
in third division 11 years ago and has been there most of
the time

real madrid is spoiling us with their attractive football
:)

i have no idea why inter is playing in this manner
lately...i mean why do they need vieri for anyway, if all
they do is deffend and wait for opponent team to do a
mistake...they were very lucky to come this far (especially
in games with valencia), sometimes its working, but they
will have to score if they want to pass
(im still supporting inter though, for the old times and
because i like recoba a lot hehe)
