The page with Terence Hill and Glotch constantly ejaculating
and proclaiming the second coming is xltronic gold. At least
people seem to be liking it, I look forward to the compact
disc.

I've spent 100 quid on CDs in the last week. It's a real
problem.

I used to do just that, blowing about a hundred euros or
more every month on CDs, but then I had all those unopened
CDs lying around and I felt ashamed of myself for having
felt the excitement of buying, I felt tricked and it was
stressful to have these I albums I didn't listen to piling
up, and so I just stopped and I haven't bought one CD in
about two or three years yo.

i'm really liking this, glad they've gone more abstract
again- a bit of a return to form for them in my eyes. wonder
what style the live shows are going to be.

the pre-ordered folks.

Interesting, the Japan release date according to Amazon
Japan, CDJapan, HMV, and Beatink Records is set for March
3rd. Isn't that like 3 weeks ahead of the Warp release?!?

I ordered the Japan version for the bonus track, "Dial
the...", er, I meant "Xektses sql". It's possible that
could arrive in my mailbox before the official Warp release.

offline catfood03 on 2010-02-08 13:14 [#02365552]

+ it only came to around 22 bucks, just a little bit more
than a standard CD cost, and much cheaper than the vinyl
edition

I believe this is another fake.
Lots of nice sounds, and might even have been produced by
autechre or some other warp fellow cause the production
values are very modern and crisp, and the overuse of reverb
is similar to Quaristice. BUT the songs seems too similar
and its not the great span of styles that Autechre usually
have.
Some of the melodies also seems overly cheesy using kinda
uninteresting synth sounds.

Still enjoyable listening, and I wouldnt be completely
shocked if it was the real deal, maybe its just embrasing a
new concept. It just lacks the movement and conceptual
quality that Autechre are known for.

It isn't fake. Norman Records are very reliable.

Ya as I said I wouldnt be shocked if it was the real deal.
So Im slightly disappointed, cause Im used to Autechre
released something completely different and bizare like
Quaristice with its many version.

Some source did state that we will be hearing a lot more
from Autechre the coming year, so expect I some more
conceptual versions after.

Is it just me or is most of Oversteps insanely similar to
Clark's warp output? Big bursts of noise and wide dirty
bass, not to mention the heavy use of arpeggio lines.

Always thought it was Clark that tried to sound like
Autechre, but seems like he's the real pioneer now.

I truly, truly love this! I ordered the vinyl (for 25 EUR it
seems a steal) as well as the cd from bleep. to me
oversteps is some kind of mix of amber and draft. At times
its easy listening - but so relaxed --- so yes, this is it.
Favs: R Ess, Ilanders and Known (1).
