i find it a bit confusing, adding more text in the site. im
sure well get used to it, as we get used to progressively
added text (like ads and stuff). anyway, i think it would be
nice if you can show or hide the tags with a clickable
button...

another thing: in the index page, instead of "last changed",
i think it would be more usefull to write when it was
"created".

is there a way to edit the tags? maybe allow mods to delete
silly/humorous or straing up trollish ones?

it looks like a good idea, but it's a bit annoying right
now. it's really disappointing to see such childish shit at
the top of every thread. how old are some of you? this is
grade school stuff, guys. grow up.

working.

Phob: Will the tags make it possible to exclude types of
topics? So that one can exclude tags like board-members
spamming new tracks, "funny-topics" and so on?

the current tag-system is a 3rd party software which limits
us from integrate it fully into xltronic. xltv2 will have
native tag-support (if tunemx is motivated)...

however, our goal is to let mods tag a thread as "pure spam"
or similiar.... if you wanna hide such topics, access your
xltronic settings, tick a box "hide spam-tagged topics" and
the mb will filter out all topics which are marked "spam" by
moderators.

Flickr (online photo site) (I think) was the site that
started this "tag cloud" concept - head on over to their
site to see a better visual idea of how it works.

http://www.flickr.com

You lot shouldn't dismiss an idea just because you don't
understand it - by the same token, new tools/concepts should
be explained/demonstrated more thoroughly.

Ok. Sounds good.

Drunken: I have never listened to tracks by XLT members.
Maybe I miss some decent tunes, but there are so much good
music I want by "real" artists, so I don't bother. And I
think the opportunity to filter out spam and
nonsense-threads, will make the MB a good place to be.

if the stuff posted here is better than what's being
released (not impossible, and in certain contexts quite
likely, even), I'd say you should fuck the "real" artists
and listen to the stuff here.. also, it doesn't really cost
you anything, seeing as you don't have to buy the releases
or anything...

well, you wouldn't have to dig through everything from start
to end, but try clicking spam topics every once in a while..
it doesn't hurt, and if you can say something about it,
that's even better, as it may help improve the person who
made it.

remember that signed artists start out unsigned, so thinking
that unsigned music is worse than signed music is the same
as saying even signed music is crap, as the people who made
it couldn't have been signed on the basis of their music
being good, as they would have had to be unsigned at the
time they first got signed.

I wouldn't count on it...

one of the most talented artists here in bergen right now
isn't looking to get signed nor is he looking to live off
his music in any other way than making music for films and
commercials so that he can keep on supporting himself and
doing what he enjoys: make music whenever he feels like it
instead of when some exec decides it's time for a new album,
and I think there are lots of people who think like that...
if you thought my music rocked, for instance, you'd be
missing out if you'd only listen to it after I got signed,
'cause I'm not looking to get signed or be able to live off
making music either (except for possibly making it for films
or commercials, but my main focus is still on philosophy).

Ok. So I guess I will never discover an artist like that,
but I really don't care. I have no difficulties filling my
ears with nice tunes by singed artists. I guess there are a
million young boys/men with computer making music out there.
Some are talented, most are not. I really don't have time to
find the most talented ones, and therefore I normally don't
bother searching. I'm pretty sure I will miss something, but
that's ok with me.
