I think the tunes are beautifully constructed and i know it
might be slightly too accessible for some more anally
retentive people, but i love it. Never been off my cd
player.

If it was limited to 500 and you were one of the guys who
had it you would be on your knees, trouser round your
ankles, spunking all over it. You don't even like music. You
just like collecting.

Excellent post!!! and Qrter doesnt deserve to be a
moderator, havent seen one good post by him since day
one..and no its not because u dont like TCH..u suck.

Its a excellent album.

I dont understand why people spreading hate when u can
spread love, I dont even comment on albums that I dont
like, its not worth my time do write about bad albums theres
tons of them.

I mean TCH is fantastic and I havent heard a better album in
that similar vein ever, suits my taste perfect for my type
of hobbies.

since you have about 30 points and talk in terms of 'the

account you are exactly,
just to clear things up.
next to that, i haven't got the faintest idea what the hell
you are on about in your first post in this thread

next to that, what the hell, bill_hicks, you like
BOC ?! you 'dig' this album? man, i believed in you

i agree totally with what archrival said, and bill hicks.
there's a very small clique of 3 or 4 unpleasant characters
on this forum, unfortunately a couple of them have somehow
become moderators.

you guys that i'm referring to: this is a community of real
people talking about music and other shared interests on
here. it's mostly adults, not some highschool class. can you
show a bit of respect?

i particularly agree with what archrival said here:
"I dont understand why people spreading hate when u can
spread love, I dont even comment on albums that I dont
like, its not worth my time do write about bad albums theres

tons of them."

exactly. who would have the time or patience to repeatedly
jump into otherwise constructive threads, and fill them with
the same negative comments, over and over and over? why
would someone, who is a struggling musician themselves, go
to all the bother of targetting those specific threads and
doing that? can you think of a reason? i can think of an
obvious one.

morton, i've been lurking here for months. at first i
thought this was quite a good forum but it's become clear
it's dogged down to shit by a kind of 'cooler than thou'
censorship by these childish idiots.

as for my first comments to qrter, they were meant for him
and he knows exactly what i'm talking about.

Bill hicks has been spot on in this thread in my personal

other peoples opinions. If Qrter doesnt like it then fine.
He has just the same right to post about it.

on every thread that is started about the album? i disagree.
that's just unfair and disrespectful to the users who want

Alright.

But why do you view it disrespectful? Obviously people arent
going to like it. Some people will love it. Some people look
at it from a fair point of view others will either love it
or hate anything made by a particular artist.

Why cant all views be shared in one thread?

I've noticed that both you and archrival made comments about
certain individuals being moderators but in overview
archrival (imo) is sore because he was critisized for his
over the top BOC fanboyism and you seem to be a strong
advocate of BOC as well.

Just because someones opinion or train of thought doesnt
line up with your own doesnt give you the right to slag them
off. We all talk a bit of shit around here (which keeps it
fun) but restricting threads based on certain types of
behavior, post content etc etc etc.... isnt really fair.

I see nothing wrong with having contrasting opinions as long
as you boys can play nice.

one more point to think about:

looking through various threads for the past few months,
it's obvious that there are a few other regulars who are
constantly getting abuse from these so-called 'mods', but
they're probably too scared to say anything about it in case
they get banned.

i'm not the slightest bit worried about getting banned by
these people, i'm pretty disillusioned by this forum at the
moment anyway. and if this thread and my membership
disappear, it'll only serve to prove my point to the other
readers that this place has become a bit of a joke,
moderated by unbalanced grumpy little playground bullies.

offline virginpusher from County Clare on 2005-11-08 12:37 [#01772934]

I took Qrters post as a silly joke at bill. I even rescanned
the thread thinking i might have missed something but i dont
think there is anything questionable in this thread.

In my opinion he was targeted for having a differing
opinion. I read it three times... basically we got some
people that hate it or view it as wanky garbage and then we
have people that must think very highly of it (i am assuming
you are one of them)

But in all fairness this is no different than any thread
that contains a more well known and established artist.
Search results could pull AFX, AE, Previous BOC etc etc with
very similar threads.

In all honesty i like hearing the negitive. I do like the
previous BOC and from things that Qrter (and others) have
posted it helped me steer clear from it. Well i give it a
chance in the future? maybe. I look to them because we have
similar taste in music sometimes. I look to the opinions of
those that i know like things i like. I have heard bleep's
sample of that ocsar red eye song. Didnt hit me well. So
therefore these negitive comments in my opinion make sense.

Unfortunately in the music world (no matter the genre) you
are going to have unfair critisizm of certain artists.
Example... i hate kid606 but i cant exaplin why. (lol) But
overall i think we should accept this and move on instead of
expecting others to change or the place we inhabit.

I do appreciate you taking the time to express your opinion.
I just hold a differing one myself. :)

offline nuc from outer space (United States) on 2005-11-08 12:42 [#01772937]
Points: 90 Status: Addict

that's all fair enough, but i'm not just referring to this
thread. it's a much bigger problem which has been affecting
this whole forum for ages. the mods have a responsibilty to
discuss things rationally, as you're doing yourself, and to
treat all the users equally. that's just not what has been
happening. qrter for instance, takes great pleasure in
agressively taking the piss out of other users who don't
share his taste in music. that's just not mod behaviour,
it's childish and disrespectful and it doesn't make this
forum an attractive venue for music discussion.

offline virginpusher from County Clare on 2005-11-08 12:45 [#01772938]
Points: 27325 Status: Lurker | Followup to nuc: #01772933

haha! To be honest its quite the contrary. There are people
here who post extreme rubbish and when Mod's do something
about it those people complain that its not fair. they
demand certain rights but overall favortism goes to those
that

1. Have been an established member for more than a year
2. Actually contribute to the community aspect of this
community
3. continuous donating members that support the cause.

i am sure you can see where this is going....

Just to be the opposite side of the coin (for shits and
giggles) i could ask you "who are you to question anything
about this site?"

At this point we could reflect on the fact that overall you
do not contribute to this site much. 34 posts since 04....
with a number of them in this thread and yet you feel as
though that critisizing the board somehow has weight behind
it.

Technically some "new guy" or "lurker" usually "doesnt get
it"

I dont mean to slag on you or anything (just to clear that
up) but overall this would be like me going to the Mu board
where i might have 5-10 posts and saying that i dont like
how things are run. It wouldnt make much sense.

The webmaster picked certain Mods. Moreover during the times
the Mods were picked they were approved of by most of the
members at that time. Thus they spoke for the masses so to
speak. So when you mix those things together it is kind of
hard to argue against.

If you want serious music discussion i would suggest that
you continue to discuss music that you like and i am sure
other lurkers that are here for music only will join you.
Just dont expect to change how things are run.

XLT is what it is and thats what makes it unique. It stands
out as an individual for the freedoms allowed here.

I dont think i follow. No one is abusing a position. And a
blind eye to what? I think i am being quite fair about all
of this. Just expressing my opinion.

I dont see where you are trying to go with all of this.

I cant be here to respond for a while as i have to get back
to work but overall i would say following

Hey its Zilty! Dont be so serious! This is a great place to
relax and talk shit and yes even eventually discuss music.
No need to be bitter or bent out of shape or draw wild
conspiracy theories.

This place the way it is is what brings back members. Thats
why the same faces come back here everyday. Thats why the
same people pay phobia to keep it up and running. They like
it the way things are. This is what we refer to as "The
New Awesomeness
"

I try to reflect the community as a whole with what i say
and the actions i preform to maintain this "awesomeness" as
long as i am in a position to do so. I represent the
majority. Phobia and TuneMX are the bosses and under them
the majority and then under them the minority and then last
of all you have me. It just so happens i have different
privelages but i try my best to do my best for the community
that i respect and love to come to for light hearted chat
and a little BS.

If you've truly lurked here for as long as you say you have
then you will notice that we actually discuss music a bit
more. I would be an example of that. But back to work :)

I am sorry we could not see eye to eye but i hold no ill
will towards you. :)

i have to agree with nuc a bit. qrter is sometimes a total
pretentious, pompous, condescending ass. Not just in his
review of music, but also of people. For example, he is
only really friendly to a select few who "earn" his respect.
you can tell who these people are because he calls them by
their real names. This persnickety, discriminating
personality, and his narrowly selective positive review of
people and music tends to add an illusion of authority to
his opinion.

Now he uses this political capital against The Campfire
Headphase and it is doubly upsetting to fans of this album
because he is preaching his negative opinion from up on his
high horse.

**
at the end of this post here, I am thinking "should I post
this message?" If I do, then qrter will probably never be
nice to me. He will likely never call me by my real name
(it's steve, by the way). And, in a way, I am being a
little pompous, and thus hypocritical. But then again, I
think it's kind of a funny observation and I rarely stir up
the shit here so... *click*
