"I even had Kirby Pinball"

i LOVE Kirby Pinball!!!!!! When i just had it i was totally
addicted to it for months. I used to play that game for
hours... all day long sometimes.

Only one of the pinball-machines though. Not sure what it's
called. But it's the machine with two bosses-character (two
clowns dropping bombs at you) and a soccer-bonusgame.
Because you can kill only one of the clowns (and get 50.000
points) and then leave the boss-area :-D That way you can
play the level almost infinitly and get alot of
points. I'll look up my highscore sometime, it's really
really really high.
The kirby-theme has got to be the catchiest tune in a
videogame ever!

*hums it*

"I haven't been able to get into Hotmail lately without
crashing the browser.
"

yeah hotmail is evil :-/
It doesn't crash my browser, but i remember the many
occasions when i was eagerly awaiting an important email
from someone, and it just said "this account is temporarily
not available, keep trying" all night long! Aaaargh!

But okay, yeah, i'll be patient :-) Looking forward to
seeing yr work!

I'll print out your address and prepare something nice for
ya. Don't expect anything before may 9th though (competition
deadline), i'm putting all my time in that now, and besides
i also want to show you what i made for the competition...
so either way you'll have to wait until after the closing
date. ;-) But it will come, don't worry.

"I'll look up my highscore sometime"

building a battery into that cartridge was a brilliant move
on HAL's behalf :-) It's probably the only game i ever
played where i actually paid any attention to my score. Who
wants to score big points on tetris? It just forgets your
score as soon as you turn off the gameboy anyway!

"2800 pts and 1 million chars, where ophecks with about
8000 has 1.8 million
"

yeah... that's a nice achievement isn't it? I'd rather be
one of the toughest posters than have the most points :-p

"you've gotta pay mr phobia extra cash for taking up
space :)
"

Yeah you're right, i'll double the amount of cash i'm paying
him normally. No wait! I'll triple it! :-p

Nah... he should just be glad someone is filling up all that
space without trolling ;-)

"The kirby-theme has got to be the catchiest tune in a
videogame ever!"

It's right up there. I love the unique art direction in all
the Kirby games.. They've got their own style. As far as
playing goes, I think my favorite one was Dreamland 2 for
the Gameboy. I loved teaming up with his new animal friends
Kine, Coo, and especially Rick. I wanted a hamster for the
longest time after I played that game.

"But it will come, don't worry."

I have faith in you.

"building a battery into that cartridge was a brilliant move

Seriously, what's the point of points if they evaporate in
between sessions? I never understood this. Left over
implementation from the Atari days I guess.

well i pre-ordered Zelda Windwalker today, apparently there
is such demand that it is doubtful you'll get the bonus dis
if you dont.

the people working there were telling me how awesome the
game was (they had it on import) and that the game was
massive, which is good as i heard it wasn't long from a
review somewhere. Can't wait to get it next week, i've never
seen people so excited over a game before like these guys at
the game shop, it must be good... they both said it was
better than Ocarina of Time too.

Ikagura is out a week later too, at last some quality
games!!

Your local game dweebs have every right to be excited.
You'll be embarassingly giddy too once you play it. I think
it's A LOT better than Ocarina of Time. They aren't even
comparable.

Rayman 3 is kinda mediocre..
Splinter Cell is really fun if you have patience. The
gameplay is based completely around stealth and subversion..
Lots of mucking up and reloading.

yeah, Ikaruga looks awesome, exactly the sort of game i
want, great to play with a mate too. Not many of this kind
of game around today, which is a shame.

They should have released Radiant Silvergun (i think its
called that) with it as a bonus disk, like they did with
Zelda. I've heard its excelent but i've never played it
myself.

It does look really hard but thats part of the appeal, can't
wait to get it. At the moment the only game i have for the
gamecube is Star Wars Rogue leader which i borrowed off a
friend... and i'm bored of it.

I wonder if Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will come out
this year, hope so.

Crysyal chronicle might come out winter of this year but im
not quite sure. I know theres definately a lot of good
stuff coming: metal gear solid(unkown if its a new game or a
port of mgs 1 or 2), mario 128, some rpgs from namco and
some new stuff from Silicon Knights (unkown title other than
Too Human) as well as new stuff from Factor 5(rogue
squadron 3 and another title coming)

"yip! yip! scraaAAAA!!"

If you liked Rayman 2 then it's definately worth a rent.
It's not really a baaad game.. Just not a very good one.
I'm always critiquing every last facet and detail of
everything I play though; you're probably much more
forgiving than I am. Especially if you're a fan of the
series.
Ikaruga does look great. I heard it's really tough and has
some weird gameplay twists... Bring it on. I could beat
Konami's 'Life Force' with one ship. No up, up, down, down,
30 life code for me. Bedridden childhood devoid of
friendship = Merciless gaming badass.
As for upcoming games, Namco's 'Tales of Symphonia' RPG
sounds promising.. First look here :

game. Now get out there and spread the love! I haven't

"the Kirby games.. They've got their own style"

true. Not only kirby himself looks cute, everything
in the game looks cute. Even the hills in the background and
all the enemies. Just looking at this game makes me happy
:-)

Kirby's Dreamland 2 was a very ambitious project i think...
nothing like that was ever released on the 8bit nes! It
feels and looks more like a snes-title. I absolutely adore
the game, all the animal-friends are a great addition
(you're right, that hamster is the best... i think the owl
and ehr... the 3rd animal are a bit more forgettable. But
that hamster was like Kirby's own Yoshi :-)

However i still slightly prefer the 1st game. Probably also
for nostalgic reasons.

All this Kirby-talk has really made me realise my
N64-collection just needs The Crystal Shards... i'm
looking to see if i can find it on ebay. It's currently for
sale with a starting bid of only 1 euro :-) But there are
still 6 days to go on that auction so the price will surely
go up.

You mean i have to get rid of george for a while?!
:-o
I dunno man... i've had george in my avatar for so long
now... it would be really weird to change it. Unless
ofcourse there's a middle-aged, bald, stocky guy in the
windwaker who's unemployed and lives with his parents? :-)

"

holy shit! :-o
Do you even realise how much i love OOT? :-) I'm already
expecting the windwaker to be a better game, but ALOT
better?... i'm sorry, that just doesn't seem possible.

Do you also think it's better than A Link To The Past?
(well... if you're like me that is, and you prefer Link tt
Past over OOT... otherwise this question makes no sense). If
any game is ever going to be even better than Link To The
Past... this has got to be it. From everything i've seen so
far this is the only game that has the potential to beat
that magical experience!

"surrounded : I just e-mailed you. If it isn't in your

I received no mail from you i'm afraid :-(
It didn't make it. Damnit! I hate it when that happens...
stupid internet. Doesn't microsoft understand we want our
email-systems to be reliable above all? I don't need
any fancy extras, just give me a system that delivers mail.
Always, all the time, without errors. Sigh.

Well i recently deleted lots of old mail, so there should be
plenty of room in my inbox. So that can't be the problem :-(
I don't understand what might have gone wrong then... shame.
I hope you saved it and can try again later :-)
I also have a yahoo-addres if that helps?

Yeah, after I'm done playing I want to sand every rigid
angle on my body down to a smooth curve.

"Unless of course there's a middle-aged, bald, stocky guy in
the windwaker who's unemployed and lives with his parents?"

There's a middle-aged stocky guy with a full head of hair
that collects skull necklaces and lives with his mom...
How's that? He's not really an 'official' character though
so finding a screen shot of him will be tough. Come on, be
festive! How about the Deku tree, that fits you.

Although it's a close call I would say yes, it exceeds even
Link to the Past. That's just my opinion though and I'm
sure there are many that would disagree with me... Though I
don't think you will. I keep playing the end battle over
and over again - I'm never ever going to get sick of it. I
keep forgeting if I'm watching a movie or playing a game..

Yah, i received that one just fine :-) Thanks alot! I really
like your drawings. (especially that octopus-like creature).
I like how some parts of the pictures are extremely detailed
and realistic, and other parts are just a few rough
scetch-like lines on paper. It makes things look
"unfinished" in a beatiful way. Like if, you would make the
entire picture that detailed it would become too polished
and a little boring.

I can still write to your mail-address without problems, no?
You seem to have received my last message just fine. Because
jedimaster chris didn't have any problems reaching me, i
don't think the problem lies within my addres :-s
But you're welcome to try and send something to

be having any of these mails that mysteriously dissapear
kind of problems that way :-) Plus a regular letter is just
nicer to receive than an email.

And even though a mini-george is still in there, i do feel

Ahh, you've penetrated my genius.. I still have a long way
to go though. I'm thinking of taking a few college courses
on the human body and figure drawing. I need a stronger
foundation. Everything I've learned, I've learned from my

cabbog, i will mail to you soon. I'm really busy at the
moment with work, the upcoming competition-deadline (not to
mention the releasedate of windwaker :-) Infact i should
probably make that my personal deadline since i doubt i'll
get any work done after i bought the game :-p)), and the
fact that i've been feeling a little bit sick for the last
couple of days. Not a nice combination. But otherwise things
are moving along nicely. I've had alot of great ideas (i
think), but i'll tell you about them in the mail.

"I'm thinking of taking a few college courses on the
human body and figure drawing.
"

Yes i think that would be a good idea. I had alot of
practice with that during my time attending artschool (which
i already graduated from, so to anwser your question: no, i
am not in school right now). And i learned alot from it! I
think any human being will always be the hardest thing to
draw... it's a struggle every time, no matter how many i've
already done :-) It's just so complex! Even though i hardly
draw realistic anymore, and i actually quite like all the
"mistakes" i make (i tend to keep them in the picture and
try to work with them, instead of trying to reach
perfection), i still feel it's very useful if you have some
basic knowledge and are able to make realistic human bodies.
So i'd say go for it! :-) In the very least it will probably
be alot of fun, and hopefully also a useful experience!

oh... my... god....!
Today is national holiday in the netherlands (to celebrate
the birthday of the queen's mother). And there is a huge
market in the town where i live. Even though i still feel
sick (argh, my throat is so sore :-( My voice is almost
completely gone too... this sucks) i decided to go and have
a look anyway.

And boy am i glad that i did! :-p

Because i found a stand that was selling videogames (mostly
2nd hand used games). It was awesome, they had nes, snes,
n64 and gamecube. I bought Yoshi's Story and Silicon Valley
for N64 both. And the guy said he could probably find
Kirby64 for me too... i have to mail him about that :-D

But more importantly... whilst browsing all those games, my
eye was suddenly caught by a gamecube-game in a gold box...
yes that's right... i couldn't believe my eyes, but they
were already selling zelda! With the bonusdisc (sadly the
bonusdisc doesn't work for me though :-( It only supports
60Hz tv's, my tv is too old for that... damnit). But well...
i'm too excited about the Wind Waker to care much for the
bonusdisc at this moment.

Cabbog, you weren't exagerating when you called this the
best game ever... it's awesome... really... it's truly
unbelievable. How can a game look and feel this good?
I've only been walking around Outset Island for a little
bit... not very far in the adventure yet. But the island
feels so lively! So real... makes me wish i could actually
live on such a wonderful place. :-p

And all the little details! My god... the details!! The
grass that sways gently in the wind, the footprints you
leave behind in the sand... water dripping from your clothes
if you've just come out of the sea.

And when i picked up one of those little piggies and threw
it into the ocean... thinking it would probably just
dissapear. But no! They actually float and slowly swim back
to the shore. Alot of programmers must have had alot of fun
in creating this world with all it's details.

It's already made me laugh too (in the house of the two old
brother... hehe, them arguing. Well i won't say anything
more. I don't want to be one of those spoilers :-o). I'm
actually wondering what am i doing here typing this? :-p I
desperately want to go back to my gamecube.
