The last one left me with a sour taste in my mouth I really
didn't like the dairy ending. My favorite so far has been
the drawing of the three.

I didn't like the ending much but overall its one of my
favourites of the series. The pacing of the book was perfect
and it wasn't overlong like Wolves...

interested in making a film version?

It seems you are right. I was staring it at, went into a

me the afternoon off and I found twelve steakbakes in my

*no spoilers* Well, at least now I can rest in peace I
guess. Quite a fucking milestone in my time to finish this,
and King's catalogue, for good. Sad cunt may I be (say
thankya) but I was moved and thrilled n all that crap. I can
heartily say that it was worth the trek, and I hope future
generations get as much out of it as I did. I also recommend
plenty of outside when reading the last volume, I finished
it on the beach and it was perfect. And aye pant, great
pics. I think the last bunch were "cooler" but these fitted
in damn well with the series as a whole. The review on Ain't
It Cool News perfectly sums up how I felt about the book and
series as a whole, although I don't recommend looking
anywhere near it till after book 7's done. Dang, this whole
event has fucked me up, I think I need a night out :D

well i've had to order it from amazon as the staff at Asda
were fucking hopeless, they didn't know why there weren't
any copies at the store!!

When i get it i'm going to have to make myself take my time,
I feel it will ruin it if I race through it.

how many people here have finnished it? You pleased with the
ending? No spoilers please.

******BIIIIIG SPOILER!!!!*******

A theory I have been told is that this is the 19th time that
he has climbed the tower. When he's back at the begning of
the chase again, THIS time he has the horne which he had
previously lost, and at the end of the poem, roland blows
his horne at the top of the tower, so when he does it this
time he'll win.... sort of thing

know what I mean?

Yavo recommended these books to me over a year ago - I read
The Gunslinger quite a while ago and enjoyed it - my
girlfriend had the first four bought as a box set for
Christmas, and I've read parts two and three and am just
about to start Wizard and Glass. Enjoying it a lot so much.
thanks, yavo.

Great to hear Paul! Wizard And Glass is probably my
favourite. I'm re-reading the series now (again), halfway
through seven. I never get bored of em.

010101: I forgot to answer your question, but there is a
Marvel adaptation of the series coming in 2007. The artwork
I've seen looks top, have a scout around.

Probably my all-time favorite series of books. Ending was
disapointing and pleasing in many ways. Fitting at least,
but I won't spoil it since everyone here can obviously read.
And if you can't read it wouldn't matter anyway. I waited
until the seventh book was out and went on a week long binge
reading the 5, 6 & 7. Somehow I managed to read all 2000+
pages in less than a week. I've been very surprised with
how many great books Stephen King has written. I recommend
anyone who hasn't read From A Buick 8 or Bag of Bones to do
so, and of course all of the Dark Tower books. :)

The best illustratior was Dave McKeen. I hope he will have a
hand in the comic book adaptation, although I don't know if
he has done any Marvel stuff or if he has an exclusive
contract with DC/Vertigo. Neil Gaiman did 1602 for them so
there is hope at least.

yeah I'm dubious about the Dark Tower comics...

I got such a clear picture in my head of the entire story, I
really don't want some comic book fucking with that.

I'll probably still check it out though.

I only just read the first comic yesterday. It's pretty
sweet I thought, bit lacking of background detail in some of
the pictures but it's interesting to see it as a trial run
for a movie - which, since JJ Abrams bought the rights to
for $19(!) recently - is closer than ever to happening.

Had to find a thread on this, I'm gutted Abrams is making
the film, he's too clean cut to make it imo, Rodriguez is
the only logical option.

I'm even more gutted that I have a tattoo on my foot which I
fear will become as common as the Lord of the Rings tattoo's
=o(

Why god WHY?!?!?

I wouldn't worry you can wear socks, I on the other hand
lost some fingers just like Roland, don't get lobstrosities

about finishing "Slow Muntants" part of the book and so far
I like i immensly.

I read the first comic this summer and thought i had ruined
the book for me but i didn't know at the time i satrted
reading the book that the comic was based upon Rolands
flashbacks...

I have the second comic which i'm going to read after i
finish the book.

yeah I've read Eye(s) Of The Dragon. Decent story... barely
connects to the tower though.

More important connections:
Hearts In Atlantis
Insomnia
Salem's Lot
The Stand
Everything's Eventual (short stories)

The Talisman and Black House supposedly also connect but I
haven't read those yet.
