1. only if holland wins
2. no, don't post there anymore. xlt is worse enough as it
is

@QRDL: with a bit of luck, they won't even make it into the
second round
but only a small bit

This might be a bad thing to say, but I really hope they get
a savage beating.

i don't want to sound historically incorrect, but they're
playing against germany. the savage beating is a given. i
hope poland kills just enough germs in the proces, though

no way

they tend to do shit in the first stage, but after that,
they always turn competitive... 3 times champions dont
forget

plus some recent semifinals and finals

Yep it is, he made a little video of himself rapping with
some friends, its a little embarrassing.

Anyone see the England-Jamaica friendly?? Nice little moral
boost, apart from the pentalty. Two misses in a row. That's
going to be a worry.

Holland had a 1 - 1 draw against the aussies with hiddink
today. Aparantly the mates kicked 3 Dutch players out of the
game (cocu, sneijder and van Bronckhorst)

The Dutch under 21 won the european championship final in
Portugal, maybe the topscorer under 21 -> Huntelaar, will
substitute van der Vaart in the big team as he's still
injured.

I'll predict Holland will make the final in the worldcup.

I ve lived in the usa for 5 months (very long time ago)
actually very near to seattle (portland)

and I really enjoyed the sports there (baseball and hokey
are my favs) but I always wondered why soccer wasnt popular
there... and it is so popular in any other country

anyway, you should watch it, cos USA could be a nice
surpirse this time.... last worldcup they got to the best 8
teams of the world... so they could improve that... maybe
that would make it more popular finally

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2006-06-05 17:13 [#01913982]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

it isn't popular because there aren't many goals per game.

I bet soccer would be more popular here if it weren't for
football and baseball, whose seasons overlap soccer.

it's true, but then how can us americans get so excited
about baseball. talk about boring. just a couple guys
playing catch for 3 hours.

I wonder why in the usa sports cannot happen at the same
time

i mean:

season for baseball beings when season for football ends (or
however it works)

in europe basket season is at the same time as football or
handball season
