i was 16. i was in sunderland. i remember this final being
one of the worst of all time. negative match, argentinians
diving and scamming at every opportunity. Two players sent
off. game decided by a single penalty - pure tosh

australia did a nice comeback

how about them socceroos. japan score one of the cheapest
goals in history by barging the goal keeper out of the way
of the ball.

socceroos score in the 84th minute, 89th minute and 92nd
minute to win 3-1. australia actually looked better than any
team i've seen. they had more possesion, over 3x as many
shots, and had better opportunities.

they're asian world champions, and if you take a peek at
world rankings, japan is ranked 18, croatia 23.

croatia lost against spain last week, so they cannot be very
good

watching Nedved and Rosicky free-wheeling around that
midfield was about as fun as it's been so far... nice game.

anyone know how bad Baros' injury is? looks like he'd be
handy to have if Koller needs to sit a game or two.

australia 3, japan 1

good result, especially because japans goal shouldn't have
been given

we scored 3 goals in the last 9 minutes or so, after
apparantly dominating (I don't have a tv, so i can't watch
the games)..

next brazil, and then the big game against croatia on the
22nd

australia played fantastic. viduka was incredible in the
first half, and we had far more and better quality
opportunities going forward, shot count was something like
25-5 in favour of australia.

we got a few too many yellow cards, and we were prone to the
counter attacks the japanese attack.

the japanese goalie denied a few very good shots from the
australians, especially from free kicks, i thought they'ld
never get the ball past.

czech republic completly owned though, they were fast and
aggressive, even when they weren't in possesion, i really
enjoyed watching them play, at 4am when i had an 8 hour
shift of work starting just 5 hours after. :D

yeah, italy played pretty well but ghana was overrated. i
think rep. czech and argentina played best matches.

now i'm curious to see brazil and spain

It's a pity that most of the matches are played during the
day.. I only get to see the last matches.

I'm very curious what South Korea will do this WC.

I haven't seen the match, I only know how they played in the
practise match against Holland. They played hard and
straightforward.

They might be doing what South Korea did 4 years ago as
Hiddink seem to have the ability to get the best out of a
group and they will not give up easily as they experienced
that a match isn't decided until the time is over. This will
give them will power in the last 15 minutes of a match, even
if they are 2 goals behind.

lets see how croatia go against brazil.... that could decide
what happens....... if we can draw with croatia, and then do
ok against brasil ourselves, we might be in with a
chance...... we want croatia to loose 5-0 tonight!
