HIDE YOUR VS and AE CDs!!!!

This is a scary story...

Check it, I just met this fly dime piece (a beautiful girl)
and everything is going just fine until yesterday (its was
our first date at my place).

She was in my "listening room" (where all my cds, system,
comp etc is) looking around while I was cooking some food in
the kitchen.

When I was ready with the food I shouted at the girl that
its time for some food.

No answer, so I walked to my "listening room" where I found
Sonya in what looked like a state of chock...

So I asked her "whas up, whats happening?" she answered me
"u scaring me, is this your music" sitting with my
headphones on? I answered "what do u mean"? Then I walked to
the cd changer to see what she was pumping, to my surprise
it had 2 cds in it Dolls, Dolls, Dolls and Confield (I been
listening to these all the day so I should know ;)). I
answered: yeah this is my cds so what!? She was bugging like
"u are a really, really scary type, please tell me u not
listening to this pyscho/schizo music, please tell me u
joking, u scare me!, this noise is the worst psycho shit I
ever heard".

Then the mood started to get really downspiral after that, I
was kinda upset that she thought that I was kind of a psycho
when she aint even knowing me like that, I mean this was the
third time we met eachother. Then she got mad, shouted
psycho and then walked out from my apartment... :(

Hide your most experimental stuff at the first date, then
slowly introduce her to what u like, because this stuff is
pretty extreme if u ask "Mr average Joe"

Help me, what should I do, I really like this girl, shes
really fly and if we cant be a couple or something atleast I
wanna..u know?

Tell her to give you head while listening to a VSnares track
and then seh will like it...
Really, I get the same thing a lot. It's just one of those
things you have to get used to. Women think your insane
based on your music taste becuase you don't like eminem or
some other shit.

Fine girls often can lack the kind of intelligence to
appreciate good music. Especially the anti-trendy AE. I love
people's baffled expressions to my music!

Man, fuck that bint she's obviously retarded if she walked
out cause you were listening to some music she didn't
understand. Christ, if you were watching snuff movies or
kiddy porn then fair enough!

My advice, shes a moron so lie and say it was your friend's.
Only intelligent chicks deserve the truth, I doubt they'd
mind in the first place though.

Oh i forgot to add not just fine girls but alot of people
can not dig music like that for some reason. I feel like my
last post made me appear to put myself above others which
was not the case! I am bad at explaining my thoughts
sometimes

Maybe if only AE was on TRL (just fucking kidding)

lol, good story archie! keep knockin' 'em dead out there!!

seriously though i been tellin' you guys for months, do
NOOOOOOOOT introduce girls you're pursuing to IDM!!
especially if it's not easy listening.

i'm not sayin' it's right to be judged based on your music,
but in the formative stages you have to play the role, and
you're only hurting your chance if they think you listen to
some "schizo" music (let them find out later).

i think the girl is a bit histeric.
try to make a cd with some soft idm like early Ae AFX and
stuff and give it to her .there's a lot of lovely idm.

it depends on what the girl listens to. if archie says she
listens to hip-hop and r&b, and mainstream stuff at that,
why bother? if she listens to other stuff that isn't just
popular than it's worth a shot.

but as someone said in a similar discussion months ago, the
object of your desire does not have to share your musical
tastes.

but respecting them is nice.

haha! shit... well If she thinks youre psyko becouse of
that...hmm... I can understand people who arent into and
never heard os stuff like autechre and such... Music to
"ordinary" people or should I say in general is a nice
melody and some sinning. no noice!!!!
My girlfriend likes a lot of tracks with aphex fro example.
but when it comes to the more extreme noise/crackle/drum
parts she just donät wanna here no more. I've discussed
this with her several times and she understands why I and
other people can like it.
I thought everything In the dance/idm genre or whatever more
names, were crap in my ears a few years ago. I was strictly
into hevay metal and shit.

Branding your music psycho is understandable, branding it
shit then... I wouldn't even bother with crossing her
company with music, but if her narrow-mindedness were to
continue I'd have to do something about it.

two questions:
how old is this girl
how/where did u meet her

and an unannounced third.. did she really scream 'pscyho'
and run away? that seems abit dramatic a response to a
fucking cd.. was there any hint of humor in any of her
apparent aversion to these cds?

what heavy metal?
You know, mostly iron maiden ( still cool ) metallica,
Anthrax...80's thrash and stuff like that.

on point as always ;)

Yeah I dont think u should put all the cards on the table
directly. Ofcourse you have to be honest and always speak
the truth in a relationship or friends etc but take it easy
when u introduce your bizarre taste of hardcore experimental
stuff, it can seriously make nice, shy harmless girls get
deeply scared of u.

we talked about music before and I told her that I mostly
like music that is not played on radio...shes into rnb and
some hip hop.

Raimons:Its a little my fault tho (should have removed the
VS and AE cds n put in some good old 70s soul) I got a
little too upset because she looked so stupid (like what a
fuck is this, like she just saw a ghost or something walking
inside the room), and I was tired and mentally stressed
after a hard days work plus I cooked the dam food and then
shes whining about my "shizo/psycho music" , she should know
that the world aint all about soft Jennifer Lopez
lullabyes.

I hope shes calling me soon tellin me that its all good and
it was all her fault and it got really out of hand......or
maybe I should call and tell that its my friends crazy
cds....dunno.

I personally think her reaction was a little "over the
top"...I mean cmon, it sounds like she flipped out cause she
found a severed head or something...Its only music and
something this byrd will NEVER know ANYTHING about.
I mean I LOVE Ae...but pretty much hate VS...either way, if
some girl was at my house and I was cooking for her, and all
of a sudden she starts flippin on me about MY music...
Ha she better take her ass to Burger King...
Tell her to kick rocks man, sounds like this woman is
trouble from the start.

how/where did u meet her? We met at a club.

NO! NOT at all, there was not a little hint of humour (then
it wouldnt been any problem or discussion!!!)

She didnt scream psycho directly, we had this huge argument,
then it got out of hand, then she went home screaming
pyscho!

DAM!! I got a lot of soft CDs too, u know all these hip hop,
soul, jazz, classical cds DAM if only one of them was in my
changer...DAM!!!

WHY! Dam u AE n VS ;) Im just warning yall, u can learn
from others mistakes, before u invite a girl to your house
please hide all your "STRANGE" cds, it can help.

Here's my experience--it's no big deal what your girlfriend
likes. With Archrival there, I feel bad. because it's not
like there should be a fight about what you listen to;
you're an adult capable of making your own decisions. I
wouldn't judge anyone based on their musical tastes
(entirely) because that's lame. For instance, Lindsey likes
stuff I don't, and I like stuff she doesn't. There's no
pressure for either of us to like it. I can listen to stuff
open mindedly, but it just doesn't catch on a lot of the
time. She gets me into plenty of stuff, though! I wasn't a
big fan of bjork until I knew Lindsey, or post-BFP Tori! :D
But one of the great things about relationships with
incongruent musical tastes is that you get to expand your
territory a bit. You hear a wider range of things than you
otherwise would. And if you've already heard the stuff,
it's different hearing it together. I think everyone can
agree on that. ;D

oh no, that's just too sad.... T_T

maybe she has some really bad memories about/involving this
music, maybe a person she hates listens to this to and she's
too sensitive...
that would explain...

otherwise i don't know!!
but that's just too sad =(

do you think there is hope for reconciliation?

going.

A girl's musical preferences are of no consequence to me.

Unless she doesn't like the Beatles. Then she can just go
die.

*nods*

thats a rather strange reaction to music =/

i mean who cares what you listen to, in the end it's what
you you get and give in a relationship, and mutual respect
for the other persons likes and dislikes. if you don't have
RESPECT, no relationship will last.

i say let her make the next move, unless you feel it was
your fault that she left. perhaps you should introduce her
to some of the BEAUTIFUL (i know i'm setting myself up for a
thrashing) piano tracks on Drukqs......or some Church Music
*hint hint* either way, it's too bad people can't be more
OPEN minded.

Well I met my girlfriend for the first time at Reading. I
drove her up there as she's my friends best friend. She
doesn't like AFX, Snares etc but it doesn't bother her that
I listen to it. Although she does like that
Fantasia/Industro Garage Beats :D Before I even asked her
out I played her some of my music. She's cool with it.
Obviously this girl you took back to your apartment is just
blinkered to the fact that not all music is lovey dovey
happy shit that adheres to a "standard". If she can't accept
that someone's different then fuck her mate. She can just
leave. Music is a major part of your personality, clearly
she was just interested in your looks or whatever and not
you as a person. If that's the case, and that's wat it
seems, then she's worthless mate. Best off without.
