a bit like the electronic bits of Kid A mixed with the piano
stuff from Amnesiac, with lots of other elements. lovely!

I will be looking for it...

I am very excited to hear this little side project.

Its kinda like when Danny Elfman put out a solo album and
just had BOINGO play all the songs with him.

ACES

This is a pretty interesting release - i'm saying this after
the first 3 songs.

Maybe the fact that I'm consciously searching for
connections is driving me astray here, but I hear
Autechre-ish attempts at microbeats throughout the album.
The Clock, for example, sounds a bit like Rae (but only a
bit). Of course he doesn't do it quite so well, being an
amateur and all, but his piano and vocals add a nice new
touch to the whole glitch electro genre.

i don't think he's an amateur to be honest, he's been doing
this stuff for a few years... he's not an instrumental "idm"
producer, so i'm not expecting that kind of vibe. his
compositions are written to be more "pop" like, really, so
it's only fair that there's not gutwrenching dsp wank
everywhere. i think it fits the framework well.

offline pigster from melbs on 2006-05-31 06:27 [#01910438]

ooh, thanks for making me aware of the leak : D
im listening and enjoying it more than radioheads latest
stuffs.
as for his beats and production and such.
the beats may not be groundbreaking amazing idm beats or
whatever, and this would probaly be because its the best hes
coming up with and such, but either, it seems heaps
appropiate for this kind of music.

offline trewq from doodam (Netherlands, The) on 2006-05-31 06:59 [#01910446]

i dont think the beats or synths the whole thing isnt that
bad really
i heard a lot worser idm music , it reminds me of medulla by
bjorke
it has really paranoia lyrics it is really an artpiece

and cymbal rush is really awesome
it has the beats of from their dvd the most gigantic lying
mouth of all time

i think this album will be almost as popular as their the
new radiohead album

This is bloody good after one listen, really interesting
melodies that will no doubt grow. The beats fit it
perfectly, lots of channel switching but bang on rhythm
throughout.

Harrowdown Hill + Atoms for Peace are the shit!

you're right, there's apparently a current exhibition of
similar woodcut-style prints going on in london.

...and on second thought i'd say Yorke is a wanker. the
album is all wanna-be idmish or something.

i might really enjoy it on second, third or fourth
listenings.

i liked this album on first listen, and its growing.
