Distortion, I think I just used the bog-standard Fast Distortion that comes with FL, though I probably turned it up a little too high for most tastes. Mmmmm. Well , what can I say? Big has turned in an excellent Nu-Eurotic-Trance version of Stalag 17 ( which is sure to be a dancefloor filler. And Mr Staz has delivered TWO new moody (BOCish?) "mixes" in ONE lazy link (though seperated here for convenience, (yours not mine)) + I, for my part, as Official Ape, have made a new track for you to hear with your ears. It's called and it combines ambient synths and drums. The drums aren't as "punchy" as I'd like. Maybe I need a goddman producer? |

OK. Not just two AWESOME remixes / reworkings, two of the best tracks of ever! Boom Selection! I don't want to come over all Proteus, but from a very dear old friend of mine to your ears, comes these two fucking SHOCKERS! I shit you not! I'm just going to copy and paste what I said on the site, but I still mean it here, if not more so. . If there was ever any point to this whole Grinning Ape charade it was the hope, however dim, that out of it all would come something.. something you could point to and say truthfully "Yes, that's fucking awesome". And that moment, friends, has come. The Palace Lido has prepared a heart stopping remix, he's taken what was a cold, abrasive, loveless bit of digital tomfoolery and created a musical slice of sunshine, that sits out in the garden of today whilst looking fondly back at the golden age of Electronic Music. I get that feeling back of when music felt so important, when you needed the right song that could make or break a whole summer ... this brings back the JOY of music. Brutal yet funky, Tribal but not trite, loud and danceable, suitable for parties and home listening. To my ears, something for fans of early Analogue Bubblebath / Classics era Twin. That's right. |

I'll just wait til Grinning Ape hits The Big Time and I can do a remix on one of their 2000-copy releases, siphoning off the succcess, myself being the Skekses to Dan Connor's Urskek, as portrayed in Jim Henson's rather lovely film "The dark crystal". |
