Will you send me the Boc plugins if you truly have them? If
so, do you use SLSK, or can you eMail them to me?

I don't think there is one, I think it was all a joke that
got out of hand. For the BOC sounding track I made I used
the free vst synth
polyiblit, set to DeepPwm and turned the fine tune
knobs slightly down, and maybe added a bit of overdrive.

Points: 24589 Status: Lurker | Followup to gay_dad: #01681165

Oh right :( I have the polyiblit synth - I don't have a MIDI
controller to detune things, and not all synths are able to
have edited Knob-Tweaking in Floops. Anyway, I have made a
track for Grinning Ape, called Icicle Breath.

You can detune it, on the left where it has Osc 1, Osc 2 ad
3 there are respective "Fine Tune" dials. I found sticking
them all slightly to the left gave that BOC-ish off kilter
air.

Ha! That's aces, and actually a remix.... I love that extra
synth work, fucking hell! I see that coming out on some
dodgy German white label. Cheers! You are officially
a Grand Wizard in the Order of the Ape. That really
is fucking ace.

I was going through all the Grinning Ape tracks I'm working
on and then one came on and I thought "Wow, this is
brilliant... I am brilliant" but then it turned out
to be Butterslut by LFO. I was well fucked off.

thanks and thanks....glad you like it. i just thought
it's a great boc-ish melody which should be developed into a
full track/song.

however, i tried not to create/add too much - to leave some
space for others, maybe someone [or you] would like to
expand that .flp file. it's there to take it.

Wowzers, would that be possible, to have a squint at the
.flp? It's so ace that bit you added, i think just a little
more work and we could have a collaborative work of creative
genius.

i tried to mix isniezot and staz tracks a moment ago. i got
an idea : first half of staz mixed with the isniezot loop.
and that second half left as it is, cause the melody is just
lovely.

isniezot, does that "smax" = you're still messing up with
max/msp ?

there wasn't any max/msp involved. I made this all in FL
studio.
but all the sounds you hear have been synthesized in absynth
3.0

The Grinning Ape dreadnought continues to plough
forward, laying waste to musical civilisations and creating
new forms with its toxic sound beams. XLT's very own Staz,
or Aphex Twin as he's known to his friends, has handed over
another delicious aural pie in the shape of his awesome "The
Ape and I". Whether it is a remix or just another track off
of his unreleased SAW III is a matter of conjecture.
Meanwhile isniezot, or Richard Devine to his mum, has taken
the blueprint further by creating funky android rhythms, the
essence of sound from his native Antwerp.

I like the Fakes and, as I am building the website at,
predictably, www.grinningape.com I wouldn't mind having a
selection of Remixes & Fakes as found by you crazy guys. So,
to that end, can I ask now if any of you who have donated
"fakes" would you tell me if I can either link to them, or
host them myself, and then any details of changing your name
to protect your "proper" work. Do you know what I'm saying
here, as I do tend to gabble? I won't do anything with
anything that anybody doesn't want me to do anything with.
OK!?!?!?!

host them at your own site, as I probably have these on mine

And of course to young Marlowe, who's Icicle Breath is a
work of breathless beauty, which I keep meaning to mention

trolling we're enjoying on the board lately.

That's right, much like XLT's own 24/7 station except
there's only 6 or 7 tracks and it's not live, and all the
tracks are by me. I know, a dream come true for music fans!

I am in the process of creating Ape v 1.2 with added
Fakes & Remixes. I have downloaded all your lovely
files so kindly sent in, some of you have worked very hard,
and will obviously host them myself on the slightly
erratically hosted G.A. site.

I did do a new track Burnt Disco but even an actual
friend of mine said that that one was pushing it too far, so
you know, I'll file that one under "Only for the HARDCORE".

Radio Grinning Ape doesn't automatically start playing. I
have to click on a song. yes, I have voluntarily come to
your site, but you can't expect me to click on things
to get your music forced down my throat!
