First matches of qualification and two interesting
results:

Liverpool FC - Total Network Solutions FC = 3 - 0

and the Irish derby...

Glentoran FC - Shelbourne FC = 1 - 2

\/\/.

Im sad to see Viera go but he has been below average (for
Viera) for the past 2 seasons, i don't think his heart has
been with the club.
Also 20m euro/£13.75m i still don't know if that is a good
price for a 29 year old.

also also arsenal had another bid for J Baptista of
£13.75m. Seville may price them selves out of this one and
he will leave for free at the end of next year.

ok, but try to thing at following midfield... ... ...
EMERSON-NEDVED-VIEIRA-CAMORANESI

and what about strikers:
TREZEGUET-DELPIERO-IBRAHIMOVIC-MUTU

and i don't want to speak about defense...
BUFFON-CANNAVARO-THURAM-ZAMBROTTA-KOVAC

wait for a great juventus next year...

you seen his goals and assists on TV?
about age i think Milan is worst than us... maldini, vieri,
costacurta, ruicosta, seedorf, cafu, etc... ....

were you expecting Madrid to do any better?

they have been dreadful for the last couple of seasons, and
despite new signings, this is showing signs of continuing.

as an avid Liverpool fan I'm really glad we got through that
opening group game against Betis with all three points
having played a pretty under-strength side.

the group of death (group G) is looking a bit easier now
that the pool have beaten Betis on their home turf and
Anderlecht look like a lame defensive outfit. Liverpool Vs.
Chelsea on the 28th is the big game, we'll see how hopeful I
am of qualifying after that..

..for now, come on the Champions!

the best league in the world.

I've not been brainwashed by the English media.

could have problems reaching the 1/8 finals this year

Liverpool and Chelsea's goaless draw was disappointing and
the group looks pretty wide open now...

Team / PTS
Liverpool 4
Chelsea 4
Real Betis 3
Anderlecht 0

who do you tip to go through on what we've seen so far from
the group of death?

offline ecnadniarb on 2005-09-29 15:19 [#01737125]

Liverpool and Chelski will go through. Anderlecht are the
group whipping boys and the fact Betis beat them is no major
shock. Betis still have to come to Anfield...if we get the
result again Anderlecht (which we should) in the next game
we will be comfortable.

xabi's pretty good. luis garcia can be a genius except he
had a poor game last night. josemi I'm still undecided on.
nando has been exceptionally poor :(

Benitez is an excellent manager though.

He has flapped a couple of corners over the last two games
which is a bit worrying, overall though I have been
extremely impressed with him so far. He's more solid than
Dudek.
