I see some people already voted.... thats strange, I need
like a week to listen to the cdr I made with the 15 tracks,
to see which are my favourites... and then I guess it will
be dificult to choose just one...
how did those people voted so fast? in less than 24 hours

These remixes are good n all but i think it'd be a lot more
fun if you gave us a list of the 10 worst tracks and we
picked the shittiest, how about it for the next poll? There
could even be some sort of wooden spoon loser prize..

Hey everybody!

I added a european mirror. It is on a server in Hungary,
which is having a quite nice speed. I recommend everybody in
the EU to d/l mp3's from there.

I'm loving these remixes. I'm listening to them all now
having managed to download the buggers on the ISDN line at
work. Christ you people are good. 136 is standing out to me
at the moment. But proper listening needs to be done to
this. I feel so ashamed of my "remix" now. It souded crap
when I converted it to MP3 but I was quite pleased with it
before that. Now though I'm just depressed about it.

Sorry I requested it from the C3 people in Hungary
yesterday, and I got to my email only this morning :)

Anyway our grateful thanks are going out to C3
and ParaRadio. They are great people letting us host
these files.

Hehehehe, it's cool. I used the line at work so it doesn't
matter. They're all great though.

i've narrowed it down to 7 of my favorites. it's always
easier to pick the ones i don't like than the ones i like.

offline Jarworski from The Grove (United Kingdom) on 2003-07-10 10:43 [#00773064]

The mirror is actually half as fast as the other option. For
me anyway.

Halfway there! Gonna give em a few days going over before I
vote though.

well, i've now listened to all 15, and there are 4 that i
like the most. i will not mention them, so as to reduce the
artists' risks of blowing their cover.

i'm putting up a link to caseybasichis's remix now so i can
easily download with right clicking.

here it is

regarding the 15 remixes up now, i'm really digging 007.

how can anyone even call number 109 a remix? they just mixed
latent quarter with goz quarter and added a fuckin acapella
over it. Oh yeah, and they had that bong sound at the
beginning, that was real cool. Plus, they had didgeridoo's!
They even put reverb on the digeridoo's! Real impressive.

offline teapot from Paddington (Australia) on 2003-07-10 22:04 [#00773898]

my vote is going to 007 at the moment, but im yet to hear
the final 3 mixes... that arch carrier one was good, sounded
great for the first couple of minutes, but then didnt really
do anything special... 007 is quite creative, only thing
that bothers me is that it sounds a little bit unfinished...
and that off-note in the piano melody towards the middle is
a touch ugly, other than that i think its the best one there

boo fucking hoo
I'm not in the top 20 and my two remixes were so brilliant.

Well at least I got to see Underworld, Radiohead, Asian Dub
Foundation and Coldplay at a festival in Germany a couple of
weeks ago, all is not lost :-)

So, is there a definitive word about posting ones that
didn't make it into the top 15? If we post them now, are we
disqualified from Autechre choosing them, or is it fine to
post them now? Thanks!

I'm not very impressed by the quality of those remixes... 22
is my favorite.. but I expected much better !

no sour grapes or anything but I'm not really into many of
the remixes either.
A couple were really great but I can't remember which ones.
The first three or so I didn't like at all.
The one with the rap is ace!

once these 15 are voted on can everyone post links to their
tracks or host all of them somewhere and we can vote again,
either officially or on our own? i have a feeling their are
some good ones that didn't make it to this list. there are
some good mixes on here but considering the amount actually
submitted i expected each one of these to be really high
quality and i am not so sure that this was the case. no
offense intended to the judges or the members producing the
mixes.

downloaded the first 7 tracks. But i can say numbers 13,
22, and 96 really kick my ass. 22 and 96 especially so far,
mus t sle ep n o w.

The definitive word on what to do with the remixes that
didn't make it appears to be that you keep hold of them
until the voting date is up, then they'll all be made
available. Then you can talk amongst yourselves about how
crap the 15 finalists are and how you'd have voted for
others instead if you were moderators. Which you're not.

I like 143... the cheesy videogame sounding one... it's
probably the most original approach.

what Ae track is it though?
