Found this:

Murray thanked "Lost in Translation" writer-director Sofia
Coppola and went on to dryly mock Hollywood award speeches,
declaring he had fired all his agents and representatives
and had no one else to thank.

He also poked fun at the convention that comedy performers
are overshadowed by dramatic stars. "Too often we forget our
brothers on the other side of the aisle -- the dramatic
actors," he said. "I'd just like to say: Where would our
war, our miseries and our psychological traumas come from?"

actually i didn't miss the point. i just think it wouldn't
be nothing wrong if murray's speech'd be sarcastic and
ironic cuz lost in translation is NOT comedy.thats all.
carry on.

i presume they had no soul.

something tells me he's glad he didnt win. Something else
tells me sean penn wishes he didnt win. They both hate the
oscars. I think for bill, the recognition was enough. If
not, then TOUGH SHIT BILL YOU GOT FUCKED OVER

Penn's work and outlook, and it was about time he got
Academy recognition...

good on you, hedphukker! Only a month til the DVD release
here in the UK :D I can't wait! I notice that Garfield must
be about to be released, because it isn't listed as
"post-production" on IMDb. I also noticed, however, that the
OTHER film he was listed in is not there anymore (can't
remember the title - it was to be directed by one of Wes
Anderson's collaborators).. maybe Murray is just not in the
film anymore, I'll have to check.

"The Squid And The Whale" it is... his name isn't on the
credit list anymore :( Although he is still listed in the
Plot Outline, and the outline looks good so I hope he IS in
it

They are showing Jim Jarmusch's "Coffe and Cigaretes" here
at the Popaganda festival on sunday.
I might go and watch it if im not to drunk or stoned.
I saw a clip from it on television and it was Bill Murray
having a conversation with RZA and GZA from Wu Tang hehe!
Pretty funny.

Bill "You are GZA right ? the genious ?" "and you are RZA?"

RZA "Aka? *blepbepbepbep* "
Bill "Aka Bobby Digital "
RZA "The man knows his hip hop"

I saw GARFIELD yesterday -- DVD copy. It was kind of boring
- Bill had some humourous Billisms along the way though --
very uneventful film, maybe #2 will be better ...

The Razor's Edge was on Sky Cinema (or something) the other
night - I recorded it and gave it a proper watch. It is a
FANTASTIC film, one of his best imo.

Channel 5, UK have a two-night Bill Murray film fest
starting next Thursday - alas, nothing rare -- I think it is
Groundhog Day, Stripes (hopefully with subtitles as there is
one gag which I have NEVER been able to make out on my
crappy VHS version), Quick Change, Caddyshack...umm...
possibly a couple of others.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing The Life Aquatic!
