I really enjoyed Xanatos post about how he and his friend
skated down to the site when they heard what happened.
I would have loved to have been there.
What an experience.

Well, since the air was, and even still is, full of toxic
chemicals from the asbestos/PCB and whatnot that made up
those buildings I'm pretty happy I didn't live near by. Many
have and more will get lung diseases from living and working
near that site.

It doens't help that Bush and the N.Y. mayor promised no
expenses would be spared in the cleanup process - there are
still only a handful of apartments that have been cleaned.

They actually advice you to clean any artifact from the
buildings that you might have bought or collected so...the
air back then was probably not very nice.

Whoa....reading that is just ,really wierd.i remeber i was
''skiving'' off of school and watching cartoon network, then
my mum came in nearly crying and said 'look whats happening
to the world' and turned on the news.it was fucking
horrible,i felt sick all day.....

then my friend ''cheered me up''by saying i knew this was
coming it's in the book or mormon , it's the start of the
end of the world...

gee thanks mate!

isnt it amazing the things we've seen,i'm not even 16 and
i've seen some pretty memoriable(is that a word) things.....

eclipse, millenium(sp?),sept 11th,the whole thing when
america 'freed' that country ( bad memory so i forget about
it ,lol).....
there's probably more that i just don't remember...

i just watched a show on tv about the U.S bombing of
civilian targets in cambodia (which was neutral at the time)
during/sort of after the vietnam war...kinda puts the whole
thing in perspective..i dont approve of violence, but u cant
be surprised and shocked and think that something like this
was absolutely unthinkable when u consider how the US has
treated....the REST OF THE WORLD in the past....

A few vintage quotes from 2001:

""How long before they blame "Islamic fundamentalists"?
BUSH:"Terrorism against theUS will not stand."
TRANSLATION:"Im gonna declare war against a nation of brown
people.""

...

"they're not going to fuck up the whole thing by blanket
bombing everyone. that's just thinking silly!"

Nice exchange:

"Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-09-13 12:42 [#00031293]

I doubt that alot of innocent people will die.

but killing terrorists isn't a bad thing i don't think.
cause a dead one is better than one that's alive.

...

f.l.e.a from Nowhere on 2001-09-13 12:58 [#00031294]

Um I am a bit confused here Syd..are you saying that the
kind of customary blanket bombing the US is so fond of
won't
occur as a result of this retalliation that keeps being
promised?...or that the civilians that customarily die in
these blanket bombings aren't/won't be innocent?

...

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-09-13 13:11 [#00031295]

No. with NATO involved, i don't beleive it's going to be a
slaughter. I expect the terrorists to be killed, but not
alot of innocent civilians. but if the country is
harbouring
the guilty and aiding them, i'm all for holding the country
responsible.

...

Jaffa Kid from UK on 2001-09-13 13:47 [#00031301]

Bollocks.......if anything the US expects a slaughter when
they do carpet bomb whichever poor country is to take the
blame for this atrocity...they won't even need evidence
they
will simply rush in gung-ho like they always do and show
their military capability.....just being honest, wait a few
days and then tell me its not so ...:(

They want big figures of dead anyway, so they can compare
their own losses with those of the "enemy" (mainly innocent
civilians no doubt) and feel some false sense of victory
over what has happened..

Thousands more people will die, but dont worry they are
only
arabic so they dont count half as much as White Anglos
anyway....(that is furious sarcasm by the way for those who
take it litterally )....hence we're back to square
one...east hates west..problem unsolved.....west hates east
equally......come on people ....surely there's some other
way outta here?"

...

Now, in 2006, where do we stand, and where does the world
stand? Is there "some other way outta here"?

Btw, I can't be

nicholas cage, it was on channel 4 here in britain. what a
shite way to mark the 10th anniversary, has to be the
wankest film ive ever seen. i fucking hate nicholas cage,
everything he stars in is fucking dreadful. they should have
put that film on with robert de nero introducing himself at
the beginning, the one made by the french brothers, now that
is a fucking great film.

strange day that has stayed in the minds of everyone for a
strange decade. sorry that many died and the importance of
the moment has been lost. im sorry that the moment has been
used as some kind of glutton mechanism from both sides and
that the destruction caused has been overlooked instead of
truly noted and learnt from. this was quite a nightmare and
im trying my best to think it over, but ill stop thinking
about it when i wake up tomorrow.

Here in Cairo on 911, protesters stormed the US embassy and
took down the US flag, apparently cuz of some anti-Islam
film trailer posted to YouTube several months ago, made by a
Californian. It doesn't fucking make sense. All of a
sudden, the US embassy security just disappeared. I've been
there for parties, and you have to pass this road that is
blocked off on both ends by security.

INSIDE JOBS 4EVA.
