russia won 2-0
so this makes this group easy for them, they and japan are
my favourites though I cant forget of belgium...its clear
that tunez is out.

ive heard on the radio that russia played very good.

he deserved a match without playing for that, even though I
think the turkish player was well fired.

ive seen lots of games from turkish teams this year in the
european cup (fenerbache and galatasaray) and they are so
dirty playing...and referees never punish their attitude in
the field, I am sick of that... so I am happy to see they
got 2 red cards and also happy cos rivaldo acted so bad

dont get me wrong, I love turkey (i ve been to stambul and
it was great) and the people there was very nice to me, but
thats just an opinion on their football teams... sorry if
you think I am wrong.

pauleta.... I find no explanation for this.

c'mon Jarworski, support the underdogs
Beasley & O'Brien are great & I've never heard of either of
them
Unlike Portugals pampered millionaires

screw them, they didn't prepare and took the US lightly,
they deserve to lose !

Anyway, It all increases the possibility that America will
sit up and take notice and build up their own expectations ,
and the nation will all tune in next time to see their team
get battered ! :D

you tolstoyed I want slovenia to win south africa and then
paraguay, I dont want paraguay to pass the first league,
their goalkeeper (chilavert) is always trying to provoque
us, insulting spain and so. so I hope slovenia qualifies
with spain

I know woofer that you love the US culture... but I dont
want them to think they are good at this too, cos they think
they are the best at everything...maybe this is stupid of me

Kinda what I think... but if they're good, then you
shouldn't begrudge them that...

COME ON PORTUGAL!!!

I don't think US will be an hard obstacle for teams as Italy
and Spain.
Here the problem is Portugal... it doesn't seem so strong as
I thought.

What's happening to Rui Costa, Figo & Co. ?

its 16 years since they werent at the world cup...too much
time too much preasure.

vitor baia is very insecure when he is nervous, he should
control that

i doubt slovenia can qualify, because i don't know how this
tension between katanec and zahovic affects on other
players. Last night the news here in slovenia was that
zahovic allready left korea. this morning we found out that
zahovic is staying there and katanec will resign after world
cup. over 90 % of people here are on katanec side by the
way.

Katanec was a good player of Sampdoria in Italy.

it

finally usa won...well, this group changes all my
predictions...cos now portugal has it quite difficult to
pass, and if they pass I dont think they will do it in first
position.

I think korea will pass and who knows who is the other...
usa so far...I cant believe that

Yes Sreko Katanec was a great full-back for Yugoslavia in
1990, unlucky not to get to the semi-final that year...
Dragan Stojkovic, Gorlukovich, Savicevic, Pancev , Vuyovic
etc.. a really skillful side that year before the break-up
and sadness of war..

Spain is smiling I reckon, nacmat :)

germany - ireland

what will happen?

germans will find it much more difficult than with the
arabs, but I think they will win, ireland could get a tye
though but dont think they can win, anyway who knows...
after senegal and usa ...

offline sine707 from Frankfurt (Germany) on 2002-06-05 13:27 [#00250745]

the match against arabia was a good one, no doubt, but
history usually repeats itself.
means, the germans will fuck up sooner or later.
but maybe i'm wrong, who knows? :)

well, I'm hoping the best of cos
now it's germany - ireland = 1-0 :)

I mean that Spain have a clear route to the semi-final now
that Portugal have surrendered first place in their group..

I mean, if Spain just had to beat Mexico and Korea to reach
the semi after such an easy group , that would be a gift
right ?

England would love a route like that..
Instead we have Argentina, Nigeria, (France? Brazil ?)

Germany are playing more like the REAL Germany now.
Physically Strong and LUCKY !

I think I knew what you meant... I just wanted to make
sure...yes of course we can have an easy route...but spain
uses to spoil it all, so I dont wanna be very happy for
other´s results, I prefer waiting for what my team does...
(which hasnt been much so far in history)

offline smokehammer from Saigon (Vietnam) on 2002-06-05 14:15 [#00250790]

nacmat, I read about Cataluna and the Basque region and I
wonder, Is all of Spain really behind the team ? Or do most
Spain fans come from Castilla ? Because we make a lot of the
rivalry and nationality issues of Spain in England.. I think
Spain disintegrate easily but is this a reason why ? When
things go bad, Hierro only passes to Raul and not Luis
Enrique, what do you think ?

But Spain has had some bad luck too, v. Italy in 1994 and in
Euro 96 v. England they were the better side IMO...
