spain 3 - 1 slovenia

it was 52 years since we didnt start the champioship
winning.

I think it was a great match for spain, nice play ... and
maybe we were lucky that the referee gave us the penalty at
the end, cos with the 2 - 1 we could have suffered a lot.

england must be carefull next match if they want to continue
in the championship, but they still depend on themselves.

france is really in a delicated situation and they must show
they real power if they want to continue, cos next match is
against Uruguay both we 0 points so the one losing is out,
and if they tye, they will both depend on other results for
next match, so France better be carefull.

in the group of germany its clear they will pass, now lets
see if camerun comes up to my expectations, but ireland are
a tough team to beat and they can be one of the big
surprises

emerson, brazil's captain, is flying home after dislocating
his shoulder! that's not so good for the brazilians.

england was shite, spain won deservedly. paraguay&south
africa -> let them go home :)

I think you had bad luck with the penaltys (the referee
maybe was a little with spain, I dont know what you think)
but I also think spain deserved the victory...I think you
can beat south africa and paraguay (thats my wish) good luck

spain is much better team

yes you can be proud, as they fighted till the end... its
true that none of the penalties should have be signed, so
the penalty for spain was maybe a unfair... thats why I know
that even the final score is 3 - 1 it was really hard to bit
slovenia

Sweden England 1-1 is a fairly good result i think.
Sweden should have done 2-1 , they owned the match at the
second half but kind of chickened out the last minutes and
played it safe, very irritating!!!.
Sometimes the will to win is not as big as the will to not
wanna loose

Question for Sido/Phob /other Swedes here ...

I get the feeling Swedes think that both England AND Sweden
are very good , and that they will do rather well now,
especially v Nigeria...

Most English think Sweden were awful in the first half, and
it was only England being awful that made Sweden look half
good in the second....

I would bet on Nigeria qualifying with Argentina.. you heard
it here first :)

offline smokehammer from Saigon (Vietnam) on 2002-06-02 17:23 [#00246618]

No i don't agree , we (or atleast i) are well aware of
swedens limitations.
But England are not that great imo, they are highly
overated.

And sweden played great football the second half , theres no
question about it.
When you say "england made sweden look good" you really
sound like a sour looser eventhough the result was 1-1 ???

offline nacmat on 2002-06-02 23:12 [#00247018]

I think england will qualify, with argentina, if not sweden
will, but never nigeria which is not half the shadow of what
they used to be

Dude , I'm relieved with the draw in the end..
our team & tactics were poor and Scandinavian teams ALWAYS
give us a rough ride...

I am not a sore loser ! ,I said MOST people here think that,
not me .. I thought Sweden played deep and England went at
them for 30 minutes, then for the last 45 Sweden came out
more and realised how vulnerable Engalnd can be.

I think its always better to play like you HAVE to score,
and attack.... Any team that shows that desire and drive can
do well and neither team did it. You are right, England ARE
over-rated..I mean RONALDO even said in El Pais (Spanish
paper) that his favourites for the Cup are Italy, France,
Argentina and England. I don't think he was joking either
..... (?) :D

Argentina vs England

that'll b an interesting match. Gut-feeling says Argentina
is gonna win that

England will play better v Argentina than against Sweden ,
we really have so much to prove, I hope some more
experienced players come in. Southgate and Sheringham for
example would be useful.

Of course, England could improve and STILL lose 4-0 ... shit
I hope that doesn't turn out to be prophetic... :/

did you see the match with slovenia, did you like spain? I
think we had problems in defense that would have been
terrible if the opposite team had been a better one

but raul, luis enrique, valeron and de pedro played really a

unfortunately i only saw the highlights :/ (had to bring my
flatmate to A&E with oesophageal reflux/distal oesophageal
spasm) ... but i think the fact that they scored 3 is quite
encouraging .. the fact that they can get it together, not
just possession etc.
