well that was an inevitable, I'm sure they said the same
during COVID and after 911 as well. My mum was saying it the
other day hehe, "plagues mark!" "wars, famine!, pestilence!"
I was like what's new? that's the story of human
civilization as far as I'm concerned

I had a theory before that its partly NATO but in fact its
Putin's intense personal dislike of Zelensky that is the
real motivation behind this war cos he is everything Dobby
isn't. That's my armchair psychologist diagnosis.

worrying that this war will natural escalate out of control,
Ukraine is a proxy battleground for NATO vs Russia now more
or less.

The Americans think they can just feed the flames like their
usual proxy wars but Russia won't be having any of that and
will assign blame where it belongs.

Anyhow I don't agree with everything the human haemorrhoid
Tucker says in that link, he is a partisan hack who would
jump at the chance to support *his* kind of war with the
right president, but many of his criticisms are on point.

yeah I can't see how Russia will sit back and accept this
without responding in kind. I'm massively conflicted about
this to be honest, I can't see a good outcome either way, if
the Ukrainians aren't helped out to the max feels like they
are being abandoned to their fate. If things are escalated
then WW3 is an ever increasing eventuality.

I think the migs thing is very provocative, its a sort of
ersatz no fly zone in a way. The tension and rhetoric needs
to be ratcheted down.

i dont know why people even consider sending polish or u.s.
planes patrolling the airspace in the ukraine. its just too
much of a gamble with dubious gain. that would be nato
military entering the warzone. i hope this is just talk.

looking at the worlds leaders you could almost think
they´ve already decided for a nuclear winter. in german tv
discussions about splitting the ukraine began. from some
viewpoints and historic borders that could be an option
appealing to putin imo and would at least bring the current
war to a halt.

Yeah i think in the long term thats a pretty bad idea, cos
that emboldens him to just do what the hell he wants with
eastern Europe, I think those people are deluding themselves
to think he would just stop at eastern Ukraine, well thats
my personal opinion of course. If he is following that
"foundations of geo politics" book to the letter he wants
most of continental Europe by the looks of things

putin might want that, but his lifetime will be limited,
who knows where he would be in ten years from now,
so stalling might not be that bad.
better than an acute situation.
but then i would see a split country might just end up being

permanent trenches in a n ongoing war.
apart from that i would reallly love to see ukraine as a
whole.
split countries are tough luck for those in it.
and putins head on a spike.
anyways i´d take what i can get.
luckily no one asks me what that is.

im thinking all nations that are capable play this game,
maybe russians turned out ot have made some clutch
achievements, but thats always easy to say in
retroperspective. i feel a bit bad though blaming russia for
trump, i mean its half the population that voted for him
after all. in any way playing geo startegics like is
appalling, no matter who does it or to what extent.

Yeah have to be careful not to escalate really, I'm not sure
stalling would work with Putin the only thing he seems to
understand is brute force, but yeah hopefully he is pushing
up daisies before any radical decisions have to be made
about giving up territory. I think giving up sovereign
territory to a serial bully sets a bit of a bad precedence
though, they can just use that tactic ad infinitum after
that.

i see what you mean, its what i hear other people arguing
too and you may have a point there. i feel we´re taking a
stand already though, gotta get out the gas and oil and coal
deals too to make it hurt now. asked myself the other day
what i know about russian culture and i dont know much. i
dont want our cultures to drift apart any further. seen the
nutcracker and swansea performed by the russian ballet.
loving the music but it was stiff and traditionalist
compared to other performances we´ve seen and had music
from tape instead of a live orchestra.
why cant we be friends...

Oh yeah, right 😉
Being funny without knowing is best sometimes
I think only the nutcracker was via speakers btw. Swan Lake
actually was with live orchestra when i saw it in essen not
swansea although similarities might occur in certain urban
areas.
