Wow, deceiving your military opponents, something so evil that there's even a
Russian word for it, which makes it Double Evil.

"The Rise and Decline of the State

The state, which since the middle of the seventeenth century
has been the most important of all modern institutions, is
in decline. From Western Europe to Africa, many existing
states are either combining into larger communities or
falling apart. Many of their functions are likely to be
taken over by a variety of organizations that, whatever
their precise nature, are not states. In this unique volume
Martin van Creveld traces the story of the state from its
beginnings to its end. Starting with the simplest political
organizations that ever existed, he guides the reader
through the origins of the state, its development, its
apotheosis during the two World Wars, and its spread from
its original home in Western Europe to cover the globe. In
doing so, he provides a fascinating history of government
from its origins to the present day. This original book will
of interest to historians, political scientists and
sociologists."

if you can't be arsed to read this, i dont blame you, it's
rude to shove a book in someone's face and say 'read this'.
but chapter 6 is of particular interest 'the decline of the
state'.

at first i thought putin's comments about "denazification"
of ukraine were the ramblings of a man not in touch with
reality. HOWEVER, thinking about it, there's probably no
other word in the russian language that triggers nationalism
and unity in the people like "nazi". it's calculated
propaganda, he knows it.

When Zelensky was elected he was unable to implement the
Minsk protocols (ending attacks on majority Russian Donetsk
and Luhansk) because of far-right opposition

Neo-Nazis and the Far Right Are On the March in Ukraine

Today, increasing reports of far-right violence,
ultranationalism, and erosion of basic freedoms are giving
the lie to the West’s initial euphoria. There are neo-Nazi
pogroms against the Roma, rampant attacks on feminists and
LGBT groups, book bans, and state-sponsored glorification of
Nazi collaborators.

These stories of Ukraine’s dark nationalism aren’t
coming out of Moscow; they’re being filed by Western
media, including US-funded Radio Free Europe (RFE); Jewish
organizations such as the World Jewish Congress and the
Simon Wiesenthal Center; and watchdogs like Amnesty
International, Human Rights Watch, and Freedom House, which
issued a joint report warning that Kiev is losing the
monopoly on the use of force in the country as far-right
gangs operate with impunity.

lot of fascists in Ukraine, but i have to say I don't think
a full scale military invasion/war and indiscriminately
bombing the shit out of civilians is the solution to the
problem.

the reuters article was interesting, thanks. the growth of
these groups must probably be seen in connection with a
fundamentally corrupt and incompetent state/politicians
(ukraine is often considered the most corrupt country in
europe). the power vacuum has probably allowed these types
of groups to flourish. i noticed most of the articles you
linked were a couple of years old. i wonder if zelenskyy
have/had any plans to confront and dismantle these groups?

but only trying to offer a different perspective that some

cause this war. i dont know enough about the historical

that it's... fucking complex. this is enough to

So here's Canada's finance minister holding a Ukrainian fascist banner

Her grandad was a Nazi collaborator.

Here's what staunch NATO cheerleder FP has to say about the UAN:

During the war, these groups killed tens of thousands of
Jews and carried out a brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing
that killed as many as 100,000 Poles. Created in 1929 to
free Ukraine from Soviet control, the OUN embraced the
notion of an ethnically pure Ukrainian nation. When the
Nazis invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, the OUN and its
charismatic leader, Stepan Bandera, welcomed the invasion as
a step toward Ukrainian independence. Its members carried
out a pogrom in Lviv that killed 5,000 Jews, and OUN
militias played a major role in violence against the Jewish
population in western Ukraine that claimed the lives of up
to 35,000 Jews.
