Uhm ok...I give you a direct link for the track, I'm not
interesting in marketing. If you don't want to go on myspace
you can download the track here:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z6TZJ6U7

A simple sharing site, no counter or similar. Just listen.

Descent try to think that music is not only marketing or
spam, but simply sharing ideas. So is better next time you
check what a person says, so you can take your reason for
speaking. You lost a good occasion for stayng in silence.

If music is simply sharing ideas, why are you upset about
Autechre "stealing" your "sample"?

"Kine and chino.K started many years ago with separated own
projects and actually, after a long period of inspirational
crisis of their minds, they decided to mix their ideas to do
a fresh product for your brains. The QualooD's project was
born due to communicate a new way to make electronic, music
using the dialogue between web and the power of the new
instruments (software and hardware). We don't have a brand,
you can call us IDM, electronic, downtempo, etc but our real
brand is QualooD and nothing else. Take a breath and let
your mind flies away from here."

for serious though, good autechre. Makes my mind flies.

"Stealing" is just a hilarious term. They are semi god for
me. I found this thing just funny. I don't want money or
anything else, just to say that the end of our song is very
similar to Autechre's track. In my opinion. I just told you,
but your spirit is very offensive and aggressive. I'm sorry
for the garbage in this discussion.

tbh dude, wtf are you talking about?
which sample do you mean, and at what point in time
exactly is it to be heard on the Oversteps leak? the kinda
randomy melodic bell/key synth thing?

Yes terence hill. In our track it stay from the 4.50 until
the end, in the Autechre track is the main theme. Is just a
little coincidence and for me it was funny.

I'm not going to over-analyze my feelings on this, but it
has been a long time since Autechre has produced any music
that I really enjoy. Everything before Untilted is
basically as good as it gets, but since then I've really
struggled to find any pleasure amidst the noise. Oversteps
is no exception. Pretty damn blah.

Now that I know its the real day I dare to say that the
album is a bit tame.
It's beautifully produced and its a really nice ambient
album, but i cant find any of the challenging concepts found
in their previous releases. I dont think it will be a grower
like Quaristice, since its too romantic, light and celestial
to my liking.
I wish they had taken it more in the direction of hiphop
like their awesome recent podcast through fact magazine.
Except for the amazing production they seem a bit stuck in
the lush IDM stage of the early 00s.

Quaristice was at least completely far out strangeness
unlike anything ive heard before.

STILL a great album, its just that my expectations to
Autechre releases are extremely high.

offline cx from Norway on 2010-02-10 08:59 [#02365958]
Points: 4537 Status: Regular

I think liking it is the challenge.
Even though it's melodic, the melodies are bizarre, and even
though it's ambient, it doesn't have the immediately
"beautiful" quality other ambient does.

I'm not sure what I feel about the rest of the CD, but
ilanders is my fave from them since forever.

i think just because something is beatless doesn't make it
ambient. most of the melodic tracks on here are very dense
and filled with a lot of notes in succession. Altibzz and
Parallel suns are closer to what i would consider ambient
music. So yes Cx i'm agreeing with what you are saying in a
round about way. Some of the melodies are pretty bizarre
and unpredictable but i think the majority of them are
pretty easy listening (not that it's a bad thing) i just
think tifof makes a valid point that there is very little on
Oversteps as far as challenge goes compared to Untilted,
Draft or Quaristice. This will be the AE that splits a lot
of the fan base, those who were very big fans of their last
3 albums (me) will probably not be as into it and those fans
of earlier output like Lp5 and amber will probably rate
Oversteps as highly.

if known(1) was made by some netlabel dickhead like yourself
you would never give it more than 10 seconds of your time
before closing the window or deleting the file

some experiments aren't worth conducting

if you take physical modelling and apply spectral morphing
resynthesis but in the end it sounds like a fanmade MIDI
tribute to Xena the Warrior Princess, or worse yet, a
project from one of the aspiring groupie recording majors
who took a break from wrapping cables and wandered into the
sound design studio to do "something trippy", you might want
to revisit your previous convictions regarding quality
control

Could someone please make a list of where the different
tracks kick in, cause I have no idea.

Is the second track playing twice?

I think Oversteps sounds just like Clark going more
abstract.
Many of the melodies doesnt sound like Autechre at all.
Doesnt have the melancholic feel.

Have to say I prefer Quaristice many times over this.
One of the tracks is actually what I would consider boring
and outdated IDM. I know that Oversteps was supposed to be a
look back at their hey-days , but I actually think back then
their melodies were more refined and brilliant in their
minimalism.
In Oversteps they got tons of IDM fm bell sounds running
left and center, lacking their genius use of splintered
melodies found on previous releases. Where different
harmonic elements create a sparse beautiful melody.

I would go so far to say that Autechre's Fact Mix is a lot
more contemporary and interesting than their new album.

Can't remember. One of the 100 music sites that had an
Oversteps announcement. For all I know they just got a promo
and made the assumption themselves.

I do enjoy most of the album, and I am seeing them live and
I ordered the special edition vinyl, so I'm no hater.
Just wished it was something a bit more unique and
challenging.

Cool. I read (on one of the 100 music sites that had an
