Alan Partridge Alpha Papa - 4/5 - Good laughs. I love Alan
Partridge but I don't feel precious about him, so even
though it wasn't the greatest movie ever, it doesn't matter,
it's feature length Alan - yay!

The Trip (2010) - 3.5/5

Moon - 4/5 - Second time round, good stuff! Not the most
original ideas but who can resist the yummy sci-fi space
vibe. Bowie's boy done alright!

Clear History - 3.5/5

Prometheus - 3/5

Inside Llewyn Davis: 6.5/10

Engrossing but kinda dull. Good lead performance.

Her: 8/10

Maybe the greatest leading man performance I've ever seen
from Phoneix, and really interesting idea. Execution wasn't
perfect. But a real underrated gem.

I'm getting as desensitised to movies as I am to albums -
the fact that least two new movies leak every day and it
takes like, ten minutes to download them in 1080 quality
means it takes a lot to impress me these days. I watched 210
new films last year! This last week I watched

Coherence 7/10
The Signal 6/10
God's Pocket 6/10
The Giver 2/10
Third Person 5/10
Space Station 76 6/10
Maps to the Stars 6/10
Obvious Child 6/10
Next Goal Wins 7/10

I hate rating stuff, almost everything that's not bad ends
up getting a 6. I also hate the fact that I watch so many
new films when I haven't seen a lot of classics, so while I
make the effort now and again it pains me that I've seen
Hunger Games 1 AND 2 and still haven't watched Vertigo.

So I finally watched 2001 last night, after seeing bits here
and there for over 30 years. Fucking amazing, fair play. I
am now going to watch the sequel, 2010, which I went to see
in the cinema when I was 6. I might not walk out after ten
minutes this time (hopefully).

I realise this a long post for a thread nobody particuarly
reads any more but I was logged in and bored waiting for
this download to finish

Coherence 4/5 - mind bending sci-fi pulled off with
no effects and tiny budget, using a blend of theoretical
physics for the plot.

Godzilla 3.5/5 - Nice cgi, worth watching for sure, i
just wish Bryan Cranston got more screen time

Lucy - 3/5 - Enjoyed it, nicely paced action and more
slick cgi Scarlet Johansson always delivers

The Grand Budapest hotel 4.5/5 brilliant

point of meh.

The Mouse That Roared - 7/10 - still never seen a shit

'The silence' by Ingmar Bergman. At first, i didn't reall
know what to think about this movie. Then i read a few
online reviews and it made more sense to me.
However, the underlying 'message' was not that obvious to me
after my first viewing of this movie.
I downloaded some other Bergman movies, which i plan to
watch over the next few days.

Nightcrawler - 7/10 great premise and well acted but
something empty about it doesn't make it a repeat watch for
me.

Tracks - 6/10 too vague in its reflection to meet the weight
of the experience that drove the reality of the story, imho.

has almost a year passed since that post ? ? :O

good idea/s freq

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I wanted to re-watch all Robocops for comparison and

Robocop [2014] 3.5/5
Robocop [1987] 4/5

new Robo could be better if the script was better. and it's
way too serious compared to old Robo. old Robo has that
humour in it that I missed in the new one.

I'll try to re-watch Robo 2 and watch R3 - I can't remember
even finishing R2 ....and I don't know if I last thru R3

talking about remakes/reboots - I really really really
wanted to give new Terminator a chance - tho I hate that
Jason Clarke dude and his "please punch me" face. He was
terrible in Planet Of Apes. Him and the mother of dragons
were the reasons I was holding hard not to watch new T. and
I already regretted that decision after about 15 minutes.
what's the point of this shitty reboot ? no idea. except $$
of course.

so Terminator Crapisys 1/5 sorry Arnie I still love you tho

Everybody Loves Sunshine 2/5 boring af although Goldie is
funney and Mr David is great in anything he appears

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2/5 I really couldn't connect to the
"humour". I could keep watching just for Groot and Rocket
but that's a bit too little to last 2 hrs

so then I tried Wolves [2014] cause I haven't watched a
horror for a while now [need to rewatch Cabin ITW asap] and
because that Merritt hottie and I can give it a good 3/5 - I
expected mindless fun horror film about werewolves and
wasn't disappointed. also good to see Stephen McHattie [e.g.
x-files baddie] still in the biz

so that was my movie night in

now time for X-Files Season 10 binge watch

hey obara did you watch past 15 minutes?

I really liked the latest movie. Arnie is awesome. The
effects are excellent, some of them are the best ive seen.
story is great too.

kyle rees looks nothing like the original actor. but wow
did you see the 3d animated young Arnie terminator vs old
Arnie? That was aweome.

for a movie made 30 years after the original, they did very
well i think.
some great scenes and lines for Arnold. funny too.

you should sit at the meetings and help write scripts for
hollywood. lol.

regarding terminator genisys it only got a 6.6 on imdb...so
maybe i was just in the right mood? or just was so happy to
see Arnie.

it was tricky for me to adjust to a couple of characters
looking very different,( not even trying to match the
features on kyle) but they do act very well considering who
they are trying to follow. The young 3d Arnie is simply
amazing.

indiana solo will return in the future young once again. :
)

There are many great moments too, old Arnie is on form.
Terminator skin ages, but he is still a tough (in arnies
voice >) "cybernetic organism composed of a hyper-alloy
combat chassis."

He has some great lines in the movie.

There is one effect of a terminator walking through fire.
looks soooo good.

but hey, it did only get a 6.6 so maybe read a few more
reviews first.

there will be more.. James Cameron will be in ownership of
the franchise again in 2019. dont know much detail, but
after the follow up to genisys, it sounds like a few more
movies are on the horizon.

^ Thats excellent news, terminator genysis cant be much
worse than terminator 3 so i should watch it, i didn't watch
terminator salvation either so i have no idea what that is
like, the first terminator is the best one for me so far, i
love the relentlessness of Arnie. I love terminator 2 as
well of course, with a slight preference for the first one,
did you know terminator is partially based on a couple of
episodes of the old outer limits from the 60s,
thats why the sci fi writer Harlan Ellison sued James
Cameron for a
writing credit
