underl the skin - 9/10. tense, inscrutable, gorgeous
tarkovskyish visuals, great score. loved it, i won't spoil
it with any more blather

That was some pitch black nihilistic shit. Superb movie, not
sure I could ever sit through it again though. It reminded
me of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, but more humorless
and inhuman.

vs

bbc film about a white rapper who is fostered, doesn't get
along with his real mother. rap battles happen, but the
actors are shit at rapping and it all sounds a lot like
dodgy poetry. like a shit english version of 8 mile

2/10

→ McQueen ... 8

A quite claustrophobic documentary about doomed designer Lee
Alexander McQueen, worth watching.

Yes, sorry!

I actually came back here to mention I’m going to watch it
again tonight. Only downside for most of you is that it’s
in French, and that the dialogues are supber. But I think it
would work with subs regardless, it’s a film really worth
checking out. It’s rather short at 1h13 but I reckon
it’s the perfect runtime. Seems like the English title is
Keep and Eye Out. Which is a massive pun.

Keep and Eye Out: 8.5/10

Terrified (Enterrados) (2017) - very scary Argentinian
horror, 8/10, will watch more from this guy. Gayness Level:
Not Gay (maybe I'm missing some subtext though?)

Disobedience (2017) - ace Chilean director Sebastian
Lellio's character study about a woman returning to her very
orthodox religious community after her father's death.
10/10. Gayness Level: Highly Gay

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018) - I can't remember
the last time I laughed this hard at a cartoon. Wait till
the Freddie Mercury sea captain shows up. 10/10. Gayness
Level: Off The Gay Thermometer, Mercury Spurting Everywhere

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018) - an amusing take on
the teenage witch, with an anachronistic setting that mixes
clothes and artifacts from different eras. 7/10. Gayness
Level: Mildly Gay But Good Effort

I watched dem game of thrones films and I feel
ripped off. All lies I tell ya!

I give it 3/10 for at least empowering women over dem films
with good looks, wit, courage, surviving in fire, and making
dark clouds of evil come out of a vagina.

I was surprised that it had depth. Had never watched it and
always imagined it was some shitty action flick with no
brains in the jungle. Really pleasantly surprised.

chill and frost up to the tops of the windows

"You don't seem to want to accept the fact that you're
dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man
who's the best! With guns, with knives, with his bare hands!
A man who's been trained to ignore pain! To ignore weather!
To live off the land! To eat things that would make a billy
goat puke! In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy
personnel... to kill, period! Win by attrition... well Rambo
was THE BEST!"

Love it, especially for Al Pacino. His quiet manipulation of
that mark settled into my soul as a permanent part of my
thinking, much more than Baldwin's more flashy performance.

Roma 8/10, reminded me of a grimmer Amarcord.

Witchfinder General - 7/10
Police Story - 9/10
Police Story 2 - 8/10

was really nice to rewatch the police story's. had them on
vhs as a kid and must have watched them 50 times each but
this is the first time i've seen them in about 20 years.
Watched a bit dubbed and hated the american dub, what the
fuck at calling the character Jackie Chan.
