Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto 7/10
watched the criterion edition where the translation is suprisingly awful. tremendous use of colours. i don't know if george lucas saw this before making the original star wars trilogy, but the bit with the old woman and her house was basically the scene with yoda on dagobah, bubbling swamp and all.

hot fuzz - 3.7/5 - what the hell? what happens at the end? they kind of lost the plot? it's all good though. great film! i always love seeing Steve Coogans face, even for such short moments. he does the cop face brilliantly. stole the show completely <3

Brief encounter is THE best British film i've seen!
watched the Fifth Element the other day for the first time in years, not as good as the first time i watched it but still a fun film. Stupid plot but makes up for it in other areas. 3.5/5

Solid arthouse sci-fi romance that spans a thousand years.
Sounds droll but is worth it. No highs or lows... just a cerebral moment.

Dead Zone (1983, David Cronenberg) - 4/5. sometimes it is fun to watch a shitty wooden movie where it is easy to understand it is all being set up and even the car crash is made of paper and it is not possible to lay in coma for 5 yearz after hitting a hollow paper shit with that side of the car where there is nobody sitting.
Wooden movies are better than plastic movies widespread nowadays.

Du levande.
If you have a chance to go see this, do it. Directed by Roy Andersson, the english title is 'You, the living'.
Anyone in Sweden, if you've seen the Felix ketchup commercials with the dad in the kitchen, you know what to expect. The whole movie looks like this and although it's a bit dark, there are some really funny scenes in it.
Betyg 4/5. (Estetik 5/5).

re: the fountain. it had some really cool moments. but all that, oh lizzy...lizzy...my poor lizzy crap was just lame in some places, they failed to make me feel it, it seemed put on (don't get me wrong, i'm all for sentimental). it kind of got a bit hollywood, i suppose, in a bad way. the zenlike afterlife idea was very nice. i can relate with that idea.
