Just watched Hell in the Pacific, it was awesome. Some
strange humor too, peeing on Mifune, lolz. ''For a second I
thought you were a Jap'', lolz. The ending ''image'' was
indeed very tacked on and weak, in fact the climactic shot
was inexplicably framed against a bright blue sky, very
confusing. But I liked how those circumstances made the
tension escalate again, so yeah, the alternate ending is
sort of effective.

Spoiler if you didn't know-

Apparently Boorman's original vision for the end was to have
two Japanese soldiers decapitate Marvin, then Mifune kills
them. The plot would have thickened, but I guess it was too
violent for the time?

Sunshine - 4/10 Severely disappointed.
Steamboy - 6/10 For the animation alone. fuck Anna Paquin's
'english' accent.
Fun With Dick & Jane - 2/10 Snore...
Idiocracy - 5/10 Completely ripped off Futurama
stylistically(?) and plot wise (and i know Futurama itself
rips off many things etc etc) but perfect for the mood I was
in (post-party retardation).
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest - 6/10 Bombastic
fun!
Black Christmas (2006) - 3/10 Its too hot outside for
Christmas slasher movies.

It wasn't a total loss, though. Mmmmmm...the girl I went
with was sweet and kind. I didn't mind playing straight so
no one would think we were on a date, but when the lights
went dim...

Holding hands tightly, fingers caressing fingers...and then
my hand down toward her crotch...under her pants...under her
boxers...I could smell her through my arm.

There is nothing more in the world than gently letting your
finger slide between a pair of lips ...and then to
actually be inside someone, a part of me in her...

She looked at me, her eyes aglow from movie light...no, it
wasn't a total loss...

Les Diaboliques (1955) 8/10 - The 'twist' was fairly
predictable but I'm sure this packed a punch in the 50s.
Poignant since the director's wife/co-leading lady died just
5 years after it was released.

Clouzot is most excellent. Have you seen Le Corbeau or Le
Salaire de la peur? Le Corbeau is from 1943 and incredibly
dark, it's a miracle it wasn't banned by the German
authorities.

pirates of silicon valley 3/5 enjoyable view on the way
apple and microsoft come to be the companies they are now
(it's a drama and not a documentary btw). it looks rather
dated, but it's intersting nevertheless.

Oh but I thought it was great, robots or not, just because
it was so arbitrarily and randomly framed, preventing ugly
and vulgar aestheticist attempts.

I just saw spiderman 3. Its not as good as 2, but its
definately close. I don't think M(r) Brazil realized that
those cheesy moments that they laughed at it that she
thought weren't intentionally funny were supposed to be
cheesy in that way. Its campy. Like the part where he runs
past the american flag. You can tell its meant to be a
pisstake.

Spider-Man 3 - 5/10 Great beginning, awful middle, bland
end. Far too long. Went to see this with an 11 year old who
after two hours was waiting for it too end. Overall
completely average and a total disappointment.
Deja Vu - 7/10 Even with the laughable 'we need to use the
helmet otherwise 90 minutes of this film will be set in one
room looking at some TVs' plot device it was still
entertaining. Tony Scott is an awful director
though.
Dnevnoy Dozor (sp?) - 6/10 Better than the first but still
lacking and that main guy is painful to look at.
The Long Kiss Good Night - 3/10 Baaaahahahahahahaaaa Fuck
off Geena Skeletorface.
Ghost In The Shell 2 - 4/10 Pretentious philosophical crap.
Full of shit like most of the people who are in to this kind
of thing.
Curse Of The Golden Flower - 2/10 Wouldve been 6/10 were it
not for the atrocious dubbing job that completely distracted
me every time some elaborately suited cunt opened their
mouth.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 - 6/10 Entertaining. Too long.
Awesome effects.
Stanger Than Fiction - 5/10 Interesting. Brought down by
triteness.
The Devils Rejects - 6/10 Not scary.
Hannibal Rising - 2/10 Laughable.
Raw Deal - 4/10 Great soundtrack.
Suspiria - 7/10 Kinda scary.

A Scanner Darkly - 5/5 - Very unique, well-written, and
there's very little like it out there. A must-see.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - 3/5 -
Entertaining, but a bit loose in plot. I preferred Dead
Man's Chest. A solid film with some nice ideas, but not
groundbreaking. Chow Yun-Fat and Geoffrey Rush are wasted.
