My dad made one once, he makes all his own curry powders and
stuff. It was horrible, didn't taste of anything but hot,
like you might as well have not made a curry and just eaten
the chilli's. He thought it was great though.

vindaloo? i love super spicy stuff. this seems to be very
spicy. we don't have enough proper indian cuisine in
germany, unfortunately.

i remember crying at the airport, because i bought a bag of
these and snacked it empty

Yeah it's the best, same effect as sitting over a bowl of
hot water. My dad's inside must just be scar tissue, he
gulps down soup straight off the hob while it's still
bubbling.

I heard chili eaters have a lower rate of colon cancer, and
I'm sticking to that.

My latest love is a sauce made with ghost, reaper and moruga
scorpion called Devil's Brew. Crazy delicious but you can't
eat much. A quarter teaspoon added to a bowl of soup or
chili makes it almost too hot to eat. The flavor, though!
Real pepper heads will know what I mean by the perfume of
the pepper. Almost narcotic.

oh my lol the subtitles

"I cannot control my hand"

"I think... without any doubt, it's hard to be Bubber right
now"

"(not able to translate this)"

I won't eat a whole chili stronger than one of those long
red guys (cayenne?) Just not worth the agony. Prefer the
stronger peppers in measurable doses like sauce so I don't
exceed my body's ability to manufacture endorphins.

yes. i love spicy foods.

years ago, i was eating lunch in my cube, and i'd absolutely
hosed a burger with tabasco sauce. i was pouring sweat. a
cow orker walks by, and asks, "hey, were you just at the
gym?" it was a big company and they really did have a gym.
"no, i just put a lot of tabasco sauce on my burger," i
reply. "ohh" he says. the look in his eyes tell me he's
still processing, though

less years ago, roommates are binge watching hot ones
and i recommend it. then, a few weeks later, they'd ordered
half the sauces on the show. eventually i'd just pour some
on a slice of bread for a quick snack. but it was at a
price, my bowels were all what is this i don't even

more years ago, a friend from college declared there had
been a study that found people who like psychedelics tend to
like spicy foods, and those who don't like psychedelics
don't tend to like spicy foods. i never got ahold of the
paper, but i have no argument.

if i were to go with a specific naturally spicy food instead
of just augmenting burgers or slices of bread with hot
sauce, it would have to be boneless buffalo wings. really
spicy chinese food is also tops. i hadn't heard of nanodo's;
had to google it. i guess i would counter with wingstop if
you want chain-brand spicy

i was laid up with the flu once and my sister and two of her

The stronger the better was always my motto, you put me in
the wrong category! Thing is with age my digestive system
doesn’t handle it so well anymore, much to my sadness. My
bottom burns in the morning and I get the spicy runs
nowadays. So I don’t eat spicy so often anymore, but will
still indulge, often ignoring the price I pay the next day.

Never had a Nandos. Got the sauces though as good for BBqs.

Not a Vindaloo lover but I love a proper curry.

Had what I thought was the aids flu one winter weekend. Two
bowls of home made curry and I was ready to kung fu fight
all saturday night, then play football on the following
sunday morning.

Pretty sure curry weed and booze is a cure for cancer.

Indeck's has certainly filed me in the right category. I do
like very hot but I do also like to taste the curry, and
often a Vindaloo isn't the most "sophisticated" item on the
menu, it's often just HOT for the sort pf berks who'd order
it (I count myself amongst them). I had a Phall, once, in
Camberwell. I got maybe a third of the way through before
thinking that I was doing myself actual harm. My
none-more-Alpha friend finished it off and he went first
bright crimson and then kind of green.

My favourite curry is a Naga Chicken that I get from a local
restaurant. But here's a little tip for UK-based curry
lovers. In M&S in their Indian selection they've introduced
"The Hot One" which is actually a Naga curry. Normally
what's advertised as "hot" in supermarkets is at best mildly
warm, but this is the real deal. I had steaming tears of joy
while eating and the warm fuzzy feeling afterwards lasted
about 2 hours. RECOMMENDED.

Also if a restaurant ever has a "Jungle Curry" listed I
always have that. As there's no established recipe for a
Jungle Curry you're always in for a suprise. But Thai Box do
a good one. To me a Jungle Curry should have poisonous,
hallucenejenic frogs and bits of Bush Meat (maybe even a bit
of boiled Missionary) and be so hot as to change your
perception of life.

How nice to be included among such good company.

You're pretty close, Indie, but really I'll go all the way
hot. In fact, I am the reigning pepper king of Pepper Palace
in Asheville, NC. Have the souvenir crown to prove it. :P
Survived their hottest sauce, had to sign a waiver. Walked
around in a blissful pepper-high for a while thereafter.

I've got a whole cupboard full of hot sauces and have
started making my own, from a Malagueta plant I grew in
the back yard, from heirloom seeds smuggled out of Brazil.
LAZY_like so.

My favorite way to eat mega-spicy is Thai, followed closely
by Indian and Central/South American. Really though, I put
hot sauce on everything. Pizza is just an excuse for an
edible plate covered in anywhere from 1-5 different hot
sauces. The spice must flow, the flavors must blend. When I
want to add heat without changing consistency, I use dry
powdered chilis rather than sauces.

I know what Roger means when he talks of curry advertised as
"hot" being mildly warm - it's a treasure to find a Thai
place that makes "thai hot" which melts face. Same for
Indian curries.

Had no idea there were so many spice heads here on Zilty...
Maybe there's a correlation between excellent electronic
music fans and preference for chili peppers? In short: 10/10
thread, would read about Russel's spicy runs again.
